Recognizing the Love We Are

We have a mission here. We did not come to reinforce the madness that we once believed in. Let us not forget the goal that we accepted. It is more than just our happiness alone we came to gain. What we accept as what we are proclaims what everyone must be, along with us. Fail not your brothers, or you fail yourself. Look lovingly on them, that they may know that they are part of you, and you of them.

This does Atonement teach, and demonstrates the Oneness of God’s Son is unassailed by his belief he knows not what he is. Today accept Atonement, not to change reality, but merely to accept the truth about yourself, and go your way rejoicing in the endless Love of God. It is but this that we are asked to do. It is but this that we will do today.

Atonement is simply a recognition and acceptance of the truth of What we are. We are Love, created by Love. Nothing else. The acceptance of that truth dispels all appearances of separation, conflict, loss and death. It recognizes that our eternal Home rests in the Heaven of God’s Love. God omits no one from His Heaven, nor does our true Self.

We accept Atonement by forgiving our mistaken beliefs that deny the reality of Love. Having denied Love, we must now deny this denial to welcome Love into our mind. This welcome recognizes our holiness as God’s Son. In this recognition we see every brother as one with us. We welcome the Love he is and join with It in peace. Conflict is dispelled in Love’s oneness. This is our mission.

Today we welcome Love as our Guide, for we would recognize our eternal Home in Heaven.

The Choice to Be Truly Happy

I share God’s Will for happiness for me.

You do not want to suffer. You may think it buys you some­thing, and may still believe a little that it buys you what you want.

Be you free today to join the happy Will of God.

Here is your home, and here your safety is. Here is your peace, and here there is no fear. Here is salvation. Here is rest at last.

Begin …with this acceptance of God’s Will for you:

I share God’s Will for happiness for me, and I accept it as my function now.

Be happy, for your only function here is happiness. …pause frequently today, to tell yourself that you have now accepted happiness as your one function. We have a simple test to determine whether we are accepting God’s Will. We need only ask, “Am I happy?” Our true Self dwells in the joy of God. Anything less than perfect happiness is a sure sign that we are denying His Will.

Unhappiness and pain are a choice. Though in this world, these conditions seem to be imposed on us. The choice we make to accept the ego’s substitute as our identity instead of the Son of God inevitably leads to unhappiness, pain, guilt and fear. We need to forgive ourselves for choosing specialness instead of the all inclusiveness of Love. It is a denial of God’s Will.

As we remind ourselves that we want God’s Will because we want to be happy and at peace, our experience in the world changes. More and more we see the Love beyond the appearances of separation in the world. When we accept His Will, we respond to the world with Love. Kindness becomes a way of being. Appearances of loss and lack are recognized as calls for Love for these conditions simply demonstrate the need for Love. Love heals fear and guilt, for It sees that there is nothing to fear. Only Love is real.

When we accept God’s Will for us, we accept the Love we are and recognize Love’s presence everywhere and in everyone. We choose God’s Will today. It is a choice to be truly happy.

Being Faithful to God’s Love

Creation’s freedom promises my own.

The end of dreams is promised me, because God’s Son is not abandoned by His Love. Only in dreams is there a time when he appears to be in prison, and awaits a future freedom, if it be at all. Yet in reality his dreams are gone, with truth established in their place. And now is freedom his already. Should I wait in chains which have been severed for release, when God is offering me freedom now?

I will accept Your promises today, and give my faith to them. My Father loves the Son Whom He created as His Own. Would You with­hold the gifts You gave to me? (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 279, W-pII.279. See also ACIM Lesson 279 Insights.)

Our misplaced faith in the ego leads us to believe its fantasy of a world where everything is limited, Love’s oneness is denied and fear, guilt, defense and attack are justified. This fantasy could never be real because it denies the reality of Love. But our faith in the fantasy imprisons us in a world of shadows. But we are not lost forever in this fantasy.

Our true Self remains unaffected by this fantasy. The memory of our Reality remains in our mind, calling to the part of our mind wrapped up in the fantasy. It is the source of our yearning for Love. The ego defends against this yearning by sending us on wild goose chases to preventing us from finding the Love we yearn for. It is always present to be found, but not in the ego’s dream. The Holy Spirit is our unbreakable link that leads us to return to the Love in which we were created and in which we remain.

We need to switch our faith from the ego to God. As we give our faith to His Voice, we will learn to correct our misperceptions and free ourselves from the mistaken belief in limitation and lack of Love. God has promised that His Son remain eternally within His Love. We choose Love as our Guide today, for we would be free to be the limitless Love we were created to be.

Remembering the Love We Are

The Holy Spirit stands at the end of time, where you must be because He is with you. He has already undone everything unworthy of the Son of God, for such was His mission, given Him by God. And what God gives has always been.

You will see me [Jesus] as you learn the Son of God is guiltless. He has always sought his guiltlessness, and he has found it. For everyone is seeking to escape from the prison he has made, and the way to find release is not denied him. Being in him, he has found it. When he finds it is only a matter of time, and time is but an illusion. For the Son of God is guiltless now, and the brightness of his purity shines untouched forever in God’s Mind. God’s Son will always be as he was created. Deny your world and judge [God’s Son] not, for his eternal guiltlessness is in the Mind of his Father, and protects him forever. Our true Self, God’s Son, resides eternally in God’s Mind, safe in His changeless Love. This Self is free to extend Love without limit, along with God. God knows no limit and what God creates is as limitless as Himself.

The ego is an attempt to limit Love. Our belief in limited love imprisons us in a world of limitation, where Love cannot be found. We retain the memory of limitless Love, but our belief in limits makes us unaware of It.

The memory of Love calls to us, so we seek to find that Love. But the ego directs us on countless searches where Love cannot be found. It always seeks form instead of content. It searches for special relationships, status, possession of special things, none of which satisfy because they are empty shells, void of Love’s oneness.

There is a better way. We answer the call to Love by being willing to open our mind to the Holy Spirit’s lead. He will guide us in the way of Love to remember the Love we are. As we remember, we see our unity with the Love in every brother. The forms in the world are overlooked as the Love we are joins with the reality of Love in everyone. This practice awakens us to our true Self, the limitless Love of God.

Being a Messenger of Peace in the World

I will be still, and let the earth be still along with me. And in that stillness we will find the peace of God. It is within my heart, which witnesses to God Himself.

I bless the world because I bless myself.

God’s blessing shines upon me from within my heart, where He abides. I need but turn to Him, and every sorrow melts away, as I accept His boundless Love for me. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 208, W-pII.208.1:2-4;207.1:1-3. See also ACIM Lesson 208 Insights.)

We are constantly bombarded with appearances that disturb our peace, if we let them. These appearances are projections designed by the ego to trick us into believing separation is real, the body is our identity and we must be on constant guard for our safety. The ego views peace as its adversary to be defended against.

We have the means to neutralize the ego and reduce its affects on our peace of mind to nothing. We start with stilling our mind. We pause, take a breath and tune in to the peace of God within us. It’s there, waiting for us to welcome it and accept it. From that place of stillness in God’s peace, we bring peace to the world. We are able to see the ego’s apparitions as nothing but a false idea which we overlook as we dwell in the peace of God.

In God’s peace we are certain of our invulnerability. We feel the strength of Love supporting and embracing us. In this certainty, we recognize the Love we are in every brother. He is not an adversary but a true friend, united with us in the oneness of God’s Love.

Let us practice this today to be messengers of peace in the world.

There Is Truly Nothing to Fear

My Father gives all power unto me.

The Son of God is limitless. There are no limits on his strength, his peace, his joy, nor any attributes his Father gave in his creation. What he wills with his Creator and Redeemer must be done. His holy will can never be denied, because his Father shines upon his mind, and lays before it all the strength and love in earth and Heaven. I am he to whom all this is given. I am he in whom the power of my Father’s Will abides.

Your Will can do all things in me, and then extend to all the world as well through me. There is no limit on Your Will. And so all power has been given to Your Son. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 320, W-pII.320. See also ACIM Lesson 320 Insights.)

The world is constantly giving us signals to “prove” that we are weak, vulnerable and powerless to protect ourselves from the constant danger that seems to surround us. All this centers on the body, the ego’s substitute for the Son of God. If we believe we are a body, we have every reason to be fearful.

Yet God did not create the body. He created His Son one with Him and shared all of His power, His changelessness and His Love. Thus our true Self, God’s Son, has all God’s strength and Love. As we accept this Self as our Identity instead of the powerlessness of this body, we can walk in the dream world fearlessly, for we know no appearance in the world can affect our true Self.

Our safety is guaranteed by God. As we live more and more in the awareness of the Love we are, we become God’s teachers in the world. We become channels of His Love to bring healing to the minds of those living with the mistaken belief that they are a body.

Today we practice asking the Holy Spirit to heal our fear-based thoughts that we may view the world with the Light of Love and demonstrate that, in truth, there is nothing to fear.

Letting the Christ in Us Transform Our World

The holy Christ is born in me today.

Watch with me, angels, watch with me today. Let all God’s holy Thoughts surround me, and be still with me while Heaven’s Son is born. Let earthly sounds be quiet, and the sights to which I am accustomed disappear. Let Christ be welcomed where He is at home. And let Him hear the sounds He understands, and see but sights that show His Father’s Love. Let Him no longer be a stranger here, for He is born again in me today.

Your Son is welcome, Father. He has come to save me from the evil [separate, loveless] self I made. [Christ] is the Self that You have given me. He is but what I really am in truth. He is the Son You love above all things. He is my Self as You created me. It is not Christ that can be crucified. Safe in Your Arms let me receive Your Son. Christ is born in us when we accept the Son God created as our Self. The self we believe we are is the ego’s false substitute which denies God’s gift of all of His Love. The birth of Christ in us is simply the acknowledgement of the Love we have always been in truth.

The path to complete acceptance of Christ as our Identity is through forgiveness of the false beliefs of the ego. We forgive by accepting Love as our Guide and Interpreter of all we perceive. Love sees only Itself and recognizes denial of Love as a call for Love. With Love as our Guide, the world is transformed and we see God’s world of Love instead of the ego’s denial of Love.
