Letting Go of Pretenses

Recently it has come to me that the world is like a big masquerade ball with everyone in costumes. The costumes people are wearing are not what they are. The costumes are just a big pretense in an effort to have “fun.” When we take the costume ball too seriously, we forget that everyone is just wearing a costume. We forget the one Mind of Love Which we all are.

We are now coming to the time when there is a growing willingness to see past the costumes to the one Divine Light of Love we all are. This growing willingness is bringing us to a stage where we can smile at the costumes and not take them so seriously. We are beginning to recognize that they are just costumes and that the whole costume ball is just a pretense. The scary stories seem less frightening because we start to sense the Love behind the fear. A sense of gentleness and peace rises to the surface as the costumes are recognized as meaningless pretenses.

What a joy it is to join together in this time of moving past pretenses to the truth. The fact that we are all the same Light and that there is no distance between us becomes more evident. We remember that we rest in the pure Love of God and that the stories are just stories — not to be taken seriously. We now join joyfully with every brother in the process of awakening from the pretense of separation. This is our only purpose now.

Robert:
If I want to wake up from the dream of pretenses, I need to be mindful of who I think I am in each moment. If I am identifying with a pretense of a separate identity, there will always be a sense of vulnerability, fear and guilt. As I redirect my attention to the truth of What I am, the pretense fades and I recognize my perfect safety and perfect happiness in the oneness of my Source. This is what I really want.

So today I will focus on walking hand in hand with Holy Spirit to share His vision and remember to gently laugh at the pretenses as I let them go. As I remember this I will have a day of happy laughter.
