Make Way for Joy

Today we read the following in the Workbook of A Course in Miracles:

We will not judge today. We will receive but what is given us from judgment made beyond the world. Our practicing today becomes our gift of thankfulness for our release from blindness and from misery. All that we see will but increase our joy, because its holiness reflects our own. (W pI.164.7:1-4)

This reminds me that if I want to be happy, I need to let go of all my judgments. As I let them go I make way for judgment that comes from beyond this world — the Holy Spirit. This passage also tells me that while it’s possible to release the world in one all-inclusive choice to forgive, the Course clearly acknowledges that we need to practice.

It is through practice that we open to the experience of increased happiness. This added joy serves as a motivation to keep practicing. Forgiveness really does pay off with joy. With practice, we all will eventually come to the point of full forgiveness that releases us completely from the thought system of separation and we remember we are in Heaven now. Today is another happy day of practice.

In order to let go of judgment, I must be willing to let my mind quiet and be open to the healing perception of the Holy Spirit. I must be willing to let go and follow the thoughts that Holy Spirit brings me. I must be willing to receive the gift of peace that brings me past the world of separation and opens my mind to the real world of Love’s oneness. This is my practice for today.
