Seeing the Love Beyond the Form

Forgiveness ends the dream of conflict here.

Conflict must be resolved. ²It cannot be evaded, set aside, denied, disguised, seen somewhere else, called by another name, or hidden by deceit of any kind, if it would be escaped. ³It must be seen exactly as it is, where it is thought to be, in the reality which has been given it, and with the purpose that the mind accorded it. ⁴For only then are its defenses lifted, and the truth can shine upon it as it disappears.

Father, forgiveness is the light You chose to shine away all conflict and all doubt, and light the way for our return to You. ²No light but this can end our evil dream. ³No light but this can save the world. ⁴For this alone will never fail in anything, being Your gift to Your beloved Son. Conflict can only seem to occur if there appears to be differences. Differences can only occur in a dream of separation. When we accept the Holy Spirit’s help to see past the appearance of differences, the Light of Love’s oneness shines through. Wherever there seems to be conflict, we have an opportunity to forgive.

In this moment we need to ask Holy Spirit for His help to let go of the meaning we have given to the appearance. Form is part of the dream. But t, and what it may seem to do, to the changeless Love that is our Reality. Each time we do this we progress along the path of awakening to Love.

Following the Voice for Love

…[defense] gives illusions full reality, and then attempts to handle them was real. It adds illusions to illusions, thus making correction doubly difficult. And it is this you do when you attempt to plan the future, activate the past, or organize the present as you wish.

You will not see the mind as separate from the bodily conditions. And you will impose upon the body all the pain that comes from the conception the mind was limited and fragile, and apart from other minds and separated from its Source.

These are the thoughts in need of healing, and the body will respond with health when they have been corrected and replaced with truth. This is the body’s only real defense.

A healed mind does not plan. It carries out the plans that it receives through listening to Wisdom that is not its own. It waits until it has been taught what should be done, and then proceeds to do it. It does not depend upon itself for anything except it adequacy to fulfill the lans assigned to it. We recently watched a movie in which characters witnessed an event and decided what it meant. But later they learned that they misinterpreted what they saw because they did not have all the information they needed to understand.

This portrays what happens when we depend upon the body’s senses to assign meaning. The body is limited and does not receive all the information needed to fully understand. We need to quiet our minds to listen for the Voice that speaks for God. All our plans and interpretations need to be based on the plans we receive through this Voice.

The practice of stepping back and allowing our minds to quiet is essential for our happiness and good health. As we let ourselves follow inner Wisdom, we learn what is truly helpful. We learn to disregard mistaken wishes and false beliefs. We learn to see through the eyes of Love, which do not depend on the body at all.

As we receive the plans God has for us through listening to His Voice in our mind, we learn that all our needs are met. And we receive God’s gifts of peace, Love and joy.

Being a Conduit for God’s Love

How thoroughly insane is the idea that to defend from fear is to attack! …

⁶You make what you defend against, and by your own defense against it is it real and inescapable. ⁷Lay down your arms, and only then do you perceive it false.

The choice you make today is certain. ²For you look for the last time upon this bit of carven stone [ego] you made, and call it god no longer. …⁶And you return to a new world, unburdened by its weight; beheld not in its sightless eyes, but in the vision that your choice restored to you.

Now do your eyes belong to Christ, and He looks through them. ²Now your voice belongs to God and echoes His. ³And now your heart remains at peace forever.

Father, we are like You. ²No cruelty abides in us, for there is none in You. ³Your peace is ours. ⁴And we bless the world with what we have received from You alone. ⁵We choose again, and make our choice for all our brothers, knowing they are one with us. ⁶We bring them Your salvation as we have received it now. ⁷And we give thanks for them who render us complete. ⁸In them we see Your glory, and in them we find our peace. ⁹Holy are we because Your Holiness has set us free. ¹⁰And we give thanks. ¹¹Amen. In this world it seems that we must constantly protect ourselves. But what we protect is a false image of what we are. We are not a body or a personality. We are extensions of God’s Love with all His attributes.

Today we choose a path different from defense and attack. We choose to be conduits for God’s Love. As His Love extends through us, we see that it joins us with every brother. We are all one and the same Love. As we join in Love we find peace and happiness. We bring blessing to the world, and we are blessed.

Accepting the Certainty of God’s Love

I will receive whatever I request.

No one desires pain. ²But he can think that pain is pleasure. ³No one would avoid his happiness. ⁴But he can think that joy is painful, threatening and dangerous. ⁵Everyone will receive what he requests. ⁶But he can be confused indeed about the things he wants; the state he would attain. ⁷What can he then request that he would want when he receives it? ⁸He has asked for what will frighten him, and bring him suffering. ⁹Let us resolve today to ask for what we really want, and only this, that we may spend this day in fearlessness, without confusing pain with joy, or fear with love.

Father, this is Your day. ²It is a day in which I would do nothing by myself, but hear Your Voice in everything I do; requesting only what You offer me, accepting only Thoughts You share with me. (A Course in Miracles, W-339. See also ACIM Lesson 339 Insights.)

While we engage in the dream of separation we believe we are alone. On our own we are in charge of what we experience. But because we believe we are separate, no matter what we do, there always appears to be outside forces that can have an effect on us. Even our most preferred circumstances have an underlying layer of uncertainty.

There is no uncertainty in God’s Love. It is always given His Creations without limit and without end. We are being called to ask for the certain rather than the uncertainty of the dream. God does not withhold anything until we ask for it. It is always already given. But our asking is needed because it welcomes His gifts. Love waits on welcome.

Today we ask the Holy Spirit to help us look past the images of separation and welcome the presence of Love everywhere and everyone. Here we find joy and peace.

Recognizing Our True Self Within

I will not fear to look within today.

Within me is eternal innocence, because it is God’s Will that it be there forever and forever. ²I, His Son, whose will is limitless as is His Own, can will no change in this. ³For to deny my Father’s Will is to deny my own. ⁴To look within is but to find my will as God created it, and as it is. ⁵I fear to look within because I think I made another will that is not true, and made it real. ⁶Yet it has no effects. ⁷Within me is the Holiness of God. ⁸Within me is the memory of Him.

The step I take today, my Father, is my sure release from idle dreams of sin. ²Your altar stands serene and undefiled. ³It is the holy altar to my Self, and there I find my true Identity. (A Course in Miracles, W-309. See also ACIM Lesson 309 Insights.)

Everyone’s true nature is Love. It is our Identity. We have made an image that hides this Identity. This image seems to be easily hurt and must defend itself. It seems to hurt others in its own defense.

Yet o As we forgive the false images we have made, the Light of our Self radiates to the world. It joins with the Light in everyone and remembers It is the Light of God.

The world of images seems very real to us. But we can call upon the Holy Spirit to help us let go of the false images that seem to separate us. With His help, we will see the Love that is the truth in our brothers and recognize It in our Self.

Here we find peace. Let us look within for the Light of Love today.

Choosing Christ’s Vision

Now let a new perception come to me.

Father, there is a vision which beholds all things as sinless, so that fear has gone, and where it was is love invited in. ²And love will come wherever it is asked. ³This vision is Your gift. ⁴The eyes of Christ look on a world forgiven. ⁵In His sight are all its sins forgiven, for He sees no sin in anything He looks upon. ⁶Now let His true perception come to me, that I may waken from the dream of sin and look within upon my sinlessness, which You have kept completely undefiled upon the altar to Your holy Son, the Self with which I would identify.

Let us today behold each other in the sight of Christ. ²How beautiful we are! ³How holy and how loving! ⁴Brother, come and join with me today. ⁵We save the world when we have joined. ⁶For in our vision it becomes as holy as the light in us. We identify with the body as what we are. Everything the body’s eyes see, what it hears and feels, we accept as real. All this is part of the illusion made by the ego, the wish for specialness. The effect of this identification is a sense of loneliness, a lack of Love that motivates a constant search for Love. But Love cannot be found in the forms of the world.

It is time to form a new habit of letting Christ’s vision be our focus. Christ’s vision looks beyond the body to the one Self we all share. It sees the Light of Love everywhere and in everyone. This vision shows us our unity with every brother in the Love we are as one.

This perception sees only innocence, for Love is total. It sees our completion in the oneness of God’s Love. Today we choose this vision in place of the body’s seeing. This vision brings us peace and joy as we join in the eternal flow of God’s Love.

Forgiveness Awakens Us to Love

Fear binds the world. Forgiveness sets it free.

The ego makes illusions. ²Truth undoes its evil dreams by shining them away. ³Truth never makes attack. ⁴It merely is. ⁵And by its presence is the mind recalled from fantasies, awaking to the real. ⁶Forgiveness bids this presence enter in, and take its rightful place within the mind. ⁷Without forgiveness is the mind in chains, believing in its own futility. ⁸Yet with forgiveness does the light shine through the dream of darkness, offering it hope, and giving it the means to realize the freedom that is its inheritance.

We would not bind the world again today. ²Fear holds it prisoner. ³And yet Your Love has given us the means to set it free. ⁴Father, we would release it now. ⁵For as we offer freedom, it is given us. ⁶And we would not remain as prisoners, while You are holding freedom out to us. There is advise sometimes offered for relationships. The suggestion is “Choose your battles.” This implies some battles are important and worth fighting for. But in Truth, nothing in the world is real. Nothing in the world is worth fighting for.

We need to learn that all forms are meaningless. Rather than fight to keep our illusions, we need to simply lay them down. We have help for this. When we are willing, the Holy Spirit will help us recognize that forms are meaningless and do not matter.

When we learn to see past forms with His help, we see that there is nothing that needs to be fought for. We let go of the meaning we have given to forms and experience the truth of limitless Love. It is ours, now and forever.
