We Open Our Minds to God Today

As we open our minds to God, we receive His gift of peace… His peace flows like a river through our minds, cleansing our minds of useless thoughts that never meant anything… God’s gift of peace carries us through all the activities of our day, reminding us of what matters and what doesn’t matter…

We stay close to God today in our minds… We value God’s gifts of peace and Love and joy, and extend them to the world… We have a purpose to fulfill and we have all the help we need to let it be done through us today.

Experiencing Joy for No Reason

Joy is available to us in every now moment. It is our natural state. If we are not joyous, it is because we are denying God’s eternal gift to us.

Whenever we judge, whenever we value some form in the world, we are choosing a substitute for God’s gift of joy. Yet a substitute is not the real thing and cannot offer us the reality of God’s joy.

When we think we will feel better if somebody behaves differently, if some circumstance would change to be more of our liking, we are looking to a form in the world to make us happy. Even if we were to obtain these things or circumstances in the world, they cannot last because they are dreams.

As we learn to let the Holy Spirit in our minds show us what lies beyond the forms of the world, the joy of the now moment flows into our heart. We open to God’s gift of joy and we experience the joy that is beyond this world. We realize there is no reason, no form in the world, that is cause for this joy. It is beyond form and everlasting.

Forgiveness reveals this to us by releasing judgment and joining with the Love of God, our true Self. Today we dedicate to joining with Holy Spirit’s vision to see God’s joy everywhere and experience joy for no reason.

Accepting the Light Within Our Minds

The Light of God resides within our minds eternally. Today our practice is to open up and welcome this Light within. The Light within heals the false ideas we accepted in the past. The Light within brings us blessings and extends outward to bless everyone. The Light within brings awareness of our oneness. The Light within is filled with peace and serenity.

Today we focus on the Light within and let It guide our way throughout the day. And a blessed day it will be.

When a mind has only light, it knows only light. Its own radiance shines all around it, and extends out into the darkness of other minds, transforming them into majesty. (A Course in Miracles, T-7.XI.5:1-2)

Being Truly Helpful

Our desire is to be truly helpful. From the perspective of a separate self-identity, we do not know what true helpfulness is. Our limited perception blinds us to how our choices affect everyone. Thus to be truly helpful, we need to be consistently willing, with an open mind, to receive Holy Spirit’s guidance moment by moment.

We start the day with that intention. We maintain an open mind by being vigilant for peace and frequently asking for help to see as the Holy Spirit sees and to respond to our perceptions as the Holy Spirit would respond. This is our practice for today.

We Let Holy Spirit Lead Us to Truth Today

If you would learn what the Holy Spirit would teach, just this willingness, and the commitment it engenders, must be developed. Your mind is based on illusion, your identity depends on it, your experience is shaped by it. Mind is constantly busy and, through its habitual and unconscious tendencies, is maintaining and perpetuating an illusory world and identity. Nothing less than a commitment that is continuously active, and an unceasing desire for Truth, will provide the willingness through which illusion is undone and the mind made ready to welcome Truth. The Holy Spirit needs your willingness; He can do nothing without it.” (From the Christ Mind, p. 210)

Today our focus is on letting Holy Spirit heal our minds… Today we are willing to step back frequently and welcome the Holy Spirit in…. We follow Holy Spirit’s lead… We receive Holy Spirit’s peace… We let ourselves be carried through the day, deciding nothing on our own… We make room for Holy Spirit’s healing Light… We want healing more than we want the ego’s illusory stories of separation and differences.

Today our highest priority is to let our minds be healed by the Holy Spirit. We let go of control. We let Holy Spirit be the Teacher and we are the student. We are willing to be brought to the Truth that nothing has happened to change God’s one Son. Only Love is real and we give thanks that this is so.

Peace Carries Us Home

Peace is like an eternal spring in our minds. As we connect with this peace, it carries us gently toward the remembrance of our Self, the eternal extension of God’s Love and peace.

Today we will focus on maintainng our connection with the flow of peace and let ourselves be carried through the day in gentleness and Love.

You Are as God Created You — Now

Salvation requires the acceptance of but one thought;—you are as God created you, not what you made of yourself. Whatever evil you may think you did, you are as God created you. Whatever mistakes you made, the truth about you is unchanged. Creation is eternal and unalterable. Your sinlessness is guaranteed by God. You are and will forever be exactly as you were created. Light and joy and peace abide in you because God put them there. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.93.7)

We are being asked to let go of identifying with the mistakes we think we have made and accept that we are as God created us. We are being asked to stop insisting that we are right and God is wrong. We are assured that the Light and joy and peace God gave us as He created us with His Love is ours eternally.

Because God is eternal and changeless, His creation is eternal and changeless. No matter whether we think we’ve made a mess of this dream life or even think it’s pretty good, it has nothing to do with what God created.

Beneath all the images of the dream world, we remain as Love created us, and Light and joy and peace abide in us. We can count on this, no matter what appears to be happening in our day-to-day experience. We can return to this assurance in any and every moment. And we can remember that this is true for every brother, along with us.

Today we dedicate to reminding ourselves often that we are as God Created us — now.
