God’s Will Is Our Will in Truth

The Will of God forever lies in those whose hands are joined. Until they joined, they thought He was their enemy. But when they joined and shared a purpose, they were free to learn their will is one. And thus the Will of God must reach to their awareness. Nor can they forget for long that [God’s Will] is but their own [will]. (A Course in Miracles, T-30.V.11.)

“Joined hands” is a metaphor for accepting our oneness. God’s Will is that we are one, which means we have a shared purpose given us by God. Thus God’s Will is our will.

If we think are a separate entity, we will think we need to protect this “entity” against everything “outside” of it, including God. An illusion needs constant defense to make it seem real.

As we learn that our brothers are neither different nor separate from us, we accept that we do not need to defend against our brother, for he is the same pure Light of God as we are. Our brother is recognized as our friend with whom we join in God’s Love. The defensiveness motivated by fear is replaced by a joyous joining, motivated by Love.

In this joining, we accept God’s Will, which is to extend only Love, as our own will. Today we ask Holy Spirit’s help to recognize our unity with the Truth in every brother. As we accept this we will recognize the truth in us — that we are Love and nothing else.

Feel the One Self in You

You are one Self, in perfect harmony with all there is, and all that there will be. You are one Self, the holy Son of God, united with your brothers in that Self; united with your Father in His Will. Feel this one Self in you, and let It shine away all your illusions and your doubts. This is your Self, the Son of God Himself, sinless as Its Creator, with His strength within you and His Love forever yours. You are one Self, and it is given you to feel this Self within you, and to cast all your illusions out of the one Mind that is this Self, the holy truth in you. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.95.13.)

The world we experience when we believe we are a body is a world of division and isolation. The Course is teaching us that we can experience our one Self, which is an experience of unity and being one with all. This experience comes with letting go of a mistaken belief in change and accepting the Truth that has never changed.

We have the means through our Inner Teacher to accept this complete reversal of thought. We do this by loosening our attachment to our beliefs and opening our minds to another way of seeing offered us by the Holy Spirit. The ACIM Workbook lessons are designed to help us do just that. It takes practice and diligence, but the reward is deep peace, supreme happiness and a sense of safety that can never be disturbed.

Everyone in the world is seeking this in one way or another. Today we practice remembering that we are one Self, united with Love. Whenever we think of any brother, we remind ourselves that our brother is that same one Self and together we are the one Self that Love created. There is no distance between us and no differences in Truth. As we practice this we recognize every brother as our Friend, Who reminds us that we remain Love, in Love eternally. This remembrance brings us joy.

Rise Above to See the Love

Today our practice is to be willing to step back and open to another way of seeing. Our true Self, which is Love, knows that only Love is real. When we are willing to listen, our true Self gently shines a Light on all our mistaken thoughts, and we are lifted above these thought to see the Love that is really there.

As we see through Holy Spirit’s eyes, nothing matters but the Love. Nothing matters but the truth. Right now we rest in God, as everyone rests in God in truth. Thoughts of fear and conflict dissolve in Love’s healing Light. We experience this as we rise above to see the Love.

Making Way for Love

Today our focus is on remembering that, of ourselves, we do not know what anything means. This remembering is key to our release from fear and return to Love. All fear and guilt come from giving a mistaken meaning to our perceptions.

No form in the world has any real substance. It is the meaning we give the forms that we react to. Sometimes they scare us. Sometimes they seem to make us happy. But being based on a mistaken meaning, the fear and the temporary happiness can be replaced by perfect Love and joy beyond description.

We make way for this miracle by our willingness to accept Holy Spirit’s meaning for everything in the world. Holy Spirit knows that only Love is real. The meaning He gives everything is to show us the reality of Love beyond the images. Today we make way for Love by opening our minds to receive Holy Spirit’s meaning.

Returning to Happiness

Father, Your Son is perfect. When I think that I am hurt in any way, it is because I have forgotten who I am, and that I am as You created me. Your Thoughts can only bring me happiness. If ever I am sad or hurt or ill, I have forgotten what You think, and put my little meaningless ideas in place of where Your Thoughts belong, and where they are. I can be hurt by nothing but my thoughts. The Thoughts I think with You can only bless. The Thoughts I think with You alone are true. (A Course in Miracles, W-pII.281.1.)

The Course reminds us that we are a Thought in the Mind of God. We are the Beingness of Love, Which is what God is. There is only one Beingness that is real, and this is the Beingness of pure happiness, pure joy, pure Love, pure peace. This eternal Beingness is always present in our minds, waiting for our return.

Today our practice is to allow our true Beingness of infinite Love and happiness to return to our minds. Like the prodigal son, we have wandered into dreams of being alone and unhappy. We have wandered into dreams of lack, loss, sickness and death.

Today we would be mindful of thoughts that hurt, that separate. We would be willing to let these thoughts be removed by the Holy Spirit. We are willing to let go of the mistaken idea that we are separate from our Source. Our Source is Love and happiness. We now would return to What is ours eternally. We have thrown It away, but now we are willing for the truth to be restored to our minds. We are willing to return to God’s perfect happiness today.

Accepting God’s Light in Our Minds

God is perfect Love and we are extensions of His Love. Only Love exists and any wild imaginings that we are different or separate from God’s Love are false.

Today our practice is to remind ourselves frequently that everyone rests in God’s Love, along with us, and God’s gifts are given equally to everyone. We are all totally immersed in God’s Love and we are one with that Love. Today we would focus on this Truth and let It enlighten our minds and shine away all our false ideas.

Accepting the Peace of God

The peace of God is shining in you now, and from your heart extends around the world. It pauses to caress each living thing, and leaves a blessing with it that remains forever and forever. What it gives must be eternal. It removes all thoughts of the ephemeral and valueless. It brings renewal to all tired hearts, and lights all vision as it passes by. All of its gifts are given everyone, and everyone unites in giving thanks to you who give, and you who have received. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.188.3.)

What greater gift can we receive and give than to accept God’s peace? The holiday season can be stressful or peaceful. It is our choice.

Our practice for today is to remember first to accept the peace of God, and then follow in the way peace leads us. Accepting God’s peace puts us in the flow of inspiration from the Holy Spirit. We can make this a joyous holiday season by making accepting God’s peace our highest priority.

As we accept peace, we naturally extend it, because God’s gift of peace cannot be limited. What a beautiful gift it is to extend peace to everyone we meet or even think of. This is how we have a happy, joyous day.
