Today We Have One Purpose

Our one purpose today is to see past the world to the One Mind of God That is everywhere. Today we practice seeing past the circumstances of the ever-changing patterns of the ego’s stories. We welcome the truth and accept it when it comes. We know our one purpose is to see past the world to the truth that we all are still as God created us.

We are all God’s Love extending God’s Love forever. We have one purpose of accepting God as God is today. God is One; there is nothing else.

Seeing Through Forgiving Eyes

The mind that sees only innocence has forgiven the world for what it thought it was. On the other hand, the mind that looks for guilt is bound to the world of pain, fear and suffering. Every moment we have the choice of whether to see through the eyes of forgiveness or to see the eyes of guilt.

We free ourselves from pain and suffering the more we are vigilant for what we are choosing. We free ourselves from the false identity as allow the veil of sin and guilt to be lifted from our minds. The Holy Spirit is our constant Companion and will help us when we are willing to see through the eyes of forgiveness.

This is our practice for today. We want our minds purified from the ego’s dark thoughts of fear, guilt and separation from Love. All this comes to us easily and freely when we are consistent with choosing to see through the eyes of forgiveness.

Remembering How God Knows Us

Beyond all idols is the Thought God holds of you. Completely unaffected by the turmoil and the terror of the world, the dreams of birth and death that here are dreamed, the myriad of forms that fear can take; quite undisturbed, the Thought God holds of you remains exactly as it always was. Surrounded by a stillness so complete no sound of battle comes remotely near, it rests in certainty and perfect peace. Here is your one reality kept safe, completely unaware of all the world that worships idols, and that knows not God. In perfect sureness of its changelessness and of its rest in its eternal home, the Thought God holds of you has never left the Mind of its Creator…. (A Course in Miracles, T-30.III.10)

As we perceive through the body’s eyes, there seems to be myriad forms for us to pay attention to: Things to fix and clean, to prepare for and protect against in order to function in the world. It seems that if we do not do these things that we will not be safe or happy. Yet all these activities are simply manipulating idols (forms) in a world of make believe. Meanwhile we remain exactly as God created us — complete and healed and whole, shining with Love within the Mind of God. This will never change because this is the changeless Thought within the Mind of Love.

We are learning to remember how Gods knows us — as eternally safe in the changelessness of Love. To know eternal happiness and perfect safety, we need to learn to look past the forms of the world to the Light of Love that is everywhere. To do this we need to let go of our investment in wanting the forms of the world to be real. This is what forgiveness does. As we practice stepping back from the meaning we give the world and letting the Holy Spirit in our minds show us the Truth beyond the forms of the world, we forgive the world for what we thought it was and welcome our reality as eternal Love. Today we dedicate to letting Holy Spirit help us remember how God knows us.

We Are One In the Love that Created Us

Today will be a happy day as we let the Light of our one Self shine through. This Light shines through the shadows of false images and shows us the changeless Love that is the reality in all things. The certainty of Love brings peace, for we know that we remain invulnerable in this Love. We see the Love we are reflected back to us as the Light of our Self shines forth from within.

But if we identity with being a separate self, a body with private thoughts disconnected from other bodies, fear and guilt will occupy our minds. Happiness is impossible because we have denied our unity with Love. We feel empty, alone, in need of defense to protect our little kingdom that we have set aside for ourselves alone. It is impossible to deny our true Self and not feel a sense of loss and depression.

But this need not be. The Light of our Self always remains with us. We only need to be willing to give It our full attention and we will again remember that we have everything we need, given us by our Creator. We remember that we are one in the Love that created us and remains in us and as us.

Today we practice giving our attention to the heart of Love within and seeing that It unites us with all our brothers in our Source.

Our Prayer to Awaken to Our Home in God

Our prayer today:
Holy Spirit, today we are willing to let You decide all things on our behalf. Be our Interpreter, that we may see beyond our past to the truth in the present. Be our Light, that we may see through the shadows of fear and guilt. Be our strength that reinforces our little willingness to follow Your lead on our journey Home. We give thanks that You are ever present in our minds with the purpose of helping us heal our mistaken beliefs and awaken to our Home in God.

We Are One in God’s Love

Right now we are one in God’s Love. It is not off in the future. Our Identity is still Love, and that will never change. Our dreams of time and space cannot change our one, true Identity.

It is very helpful for us to return to the truth as frequently as possible as we go through our day. In Truth, we are not separate bodies. We were not born as separate individuals and we do not die. We have not changed ourselves into something that God did not create.

That is why the Course encourages us often to remind ourselves, “God is but Love, and therefore so am I” and “I am not a body. I am free. For I am still as God created me.”

The world of separate bodies appears so real to us as we look out though the ego’s mechanism for seeing illusions of separation. To wake up from this dream of separation we are encouraged to return to the truth that we are still eternal Spirit and never could be a weak and vulnerable separate self that suffers and dies. God did not create a world such as this. God is not cruel and would never create a world of guilt, suffering and loss.

In ACIM we are encouraged to remember the truth of our beingness in God. We are eternally safe in God, no matter what dreams we may dream. We are still innocent because nothing has really happened to change God’s one Son. It is helpful to remember this about ourselves and every brother.

The truth is we are eternally one in God’s Love. Opening to the truth frequently as we go through our day lifts us up and carries us past all the fearful stories found in the dream of being separate from God. As we are consistently willing to return to the truth, we are brought to our inner place of peace, happiness and joy. From this place we are grateful that separation could never be real. We are so grateful to find out we could never be separate from God’s Love. We rest eternally in God and we are thankful that this is so.

Let the Holy Spirit Lead the Way

Great peace comes with relinquishing all decisions to the Holy Spirit. Trying to make decisions based on limited information and myopic vision that cannot see the future nor comprehend the effects any decision may have on the world is exhausting and fearful. We try to rely on limited past experiences and research other people’s experiences, but still our decisions bring fear with them, for we know that they are based in uncertainty.

The Holy Spirit has no limitations, being one with God, All That is. To relinquish all our decisions to His infinite Knowledge is to choose the certainty of changelessness. What is changeless is wholly peaceful and invulnerable. The truth in us is changeless.

As we practice letting the Holy Spirit decide all things on our behalf, we open the way to the experience of God’s perfect peace. The strain of trying to be on our own, separate from God, fades away. As we let Holy Spirit lead, we experience His certainty in our minds. We experience the Love that is His message to us, given by God.

Today we practice stepping back and letting Holy Spirit lead the way.
