Remembering Our Self

All we really want is to remember the Love of God, which is to remember our Self. This memory is restored to us as we forgive or let go of thoughts that we are separate from God or anyone. To remember the Love we are we must be willing to accept the Help given us by the Source of Love.

Our practice today is to hold our minds open in peace to the Holy Spirit’s guidance. With His guidance we will learn to see the Love beyond all appearances. As we accept that Love, we will remember the Love we are and we will recognize our brothers as one with us in Love. The Holy Spirit is always with us, offering His help for us to remember we are innocent and safe and have everything we need.

Learning to See Truly

Do you not want to know your own Identity? …Vision is freely given to those who ask to see.

Your brother’s sinlessness is given you in shining light, to look on with the Holy Spirit’s vision and to rejoice in along with Him. For peace will come to all who ask for [vision] with real desire and sincerity of purpose, shared with the Holy Spirit and at one with Him on what salvation is. Be willing, then, to see your brother sinless, that Christ may rise before your vision and give you joy. And place no value on your brother’s body, which holds him to illusions of what he is. It is his desire to see his sinlessness, as it is yours. And bless the Son of God in your relationship, nor see in him what you have made of him. (A Course in Miracles, T-20.VIII.2:1,10;3:1-6)

Sin and separation are synonymous. The body is an image of separation and is therefore an image of sin. Thus to see our brother truly, we must not identify him as a body. This means that we need to learn to disregard the images our body’s eyes show us and give full regard to the Holy Spirit’s vision. This is a radical shift from the values we have learned in the dream of separation. But it is the only way that we can learn to release our attachment to the values of the world and remember that we are only Love, along with all our brothers.

We ask, today, to receive Holy Spirit’s vision, moment by moment. Thus will we learn to recognize that our brother is not a body, but remains the Love that Love created Him to be. We will learn to see only innocence and thereby learn of our innocence. In this vision, we will find the peace we seek.

Seeing Beyond Appearances to Truth

Your brother has a changelessness in him beyond appearance and deception, both. It is obscured by changing views of him that you perceive as his reality. The happy dream about him takes the form of the appearance of his perfect health, his perfect freedom from all forms of lack, and safety from disaster of all kinds. The miracle is proof he is not bound by loss or suffering in any form, because it can so easily be changed. This demonstrates that it was never real, and could not stem from his reality. For that is changeless, and has no effects that anything in Heaven or on earth could ever alter. But appearances are shown to be unreal because they change. (A Course in Miracles, T-30.VIII.2:3-9)

While we believe we are separate individuals, we cannot see beyond appearances. We need help from beyond the thought system of separation to see the Truth that is hidden by appearances. The Truth in everyone is the one Self that God created. If we are willing to open our minds to the Holy Spirit’s vision, He will show us the changeless Love that is the Truth in every brother and ourselves.

This vision shows us only innocence, wholeness and changeless Love. Because it is changeless and whole, the truth of perfect freedom, health and total abundance is seen clearly.

From this perspective, it is clearly recognized that no appearance has an effect on the Reality of our brothers and our self. Forgiveness comes naturally when we realize that no appearance has any effect, harm is impossible, there is no cause for guilt and we remain Love as Love created us.

Today we again practice letting the Holy Spirit be our Interpreter of all appearances throughout the day.

The Light of Truth Is with Us

Sit silently and wait upon your Father. He has willed to come to you when you have recognized it is your will He do so. And you could have never come this far unless you saw, however dimly, that it is your will.

I am so close to you we cannot fail. Father, we give these holy times to You, in gratitude to Him Who taught us how to leave the world of sorrow in exchange for its replacement, given us by You. We look not backward now. We look ahead, and fix our eyes upon the journey’s end. Accept these little gifts of thanks from us, as through Christ’s vision we behold a world beyond the one we made, and take that world to be the full replacement of our own.” (A Course in Miracles, W-pII.Intro.5:5-6:5)

The Light of Truth is with us. It remains within our minds, whether we are aware of it or not. Today we welcome the Light of Truth into every part of our minds. As we do so, the way becomes light and easy. Our trust expands and we see that we are being carried. We need nothing but the Light of Truth to guide our way. Peace and calm fill our minds as we continue to welcome the truth today. And we move through the day in gratitude.

Peace Is Ours Now

The Communication Link that God Himself placed within you, joining your mind with His, cannot be broken. You may believe you want It broken, and this belief does interfere with the deep peace in which the sweet and constant communication God would share with you is known. Yet His channels of reaching out cannot be wholly closed and separated from Him. Peace will be yours because His peace still flows to you from Him Whose Will is peace. You have it now. The Holy Spirit will teach you how to use it, and by extending it, to learn that it is in you. God willed you Heaven, and will always will you nothing else. The Holy Spirit knows only of His Will. There is no chance that Heaven will not be yours, for God is sure, and what He wills is as sure as He is. (A Course in Miracles, T-13.XI.8)

We don’t have to wait for peace. We need only be willing to accept the peace that God has already given us. He placed His Voice in our minds to help us clear away the self-made interference that blocks our awareness of His peace. Peace is ours now.

Our practice today is to be mindful of our awareness of peace. If we experience any sense of disturbance, we pause, take a breath and relax. We then ask the Holy Spirit to help us see as He sees, to look past the disturbing appearance to the certainty of Love and peace. We ask Him to add His strength our little willingness, that we may receive His vision and the peace that comes with it. We accept His help to offer this peace so that we may experience it as our own. This is how we will learn that peace is ours now.

How to Have a Happy Day

Today belongs to truth. Give truth its due, and it will give you yours. You were not meant to suffer and to die. Your Father wills these dreams be gone. Let truth correct them all.

Begin by asking Him Who goes with you upon this undertaking that He be in your awareness as you go with Him. …It is your Self you ask to go with you, and how could He be absent where you are?

Truth will correct all errors in your mind which tell you you could be apart from Him. You speak to Him today, and make your pledge to let His function be fulfilled through you. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.107.6:5-9;8:1,4;9:1-2)

Truth is joy. We need only accept the truth to be happy. Insisting that we are separate individuals in a world of separation is the denial of joy. Yet truth remains in our minds. It is the Self we are, together as One.

We dedicate today to the practice of bringing peace to the forefront of our minds and welcoming our Self as our Guide in all our doing. As we walk with the awareness of our Self, all our doing is immersed in Love. And we experience the joy of joining with our brothers in this Self. There is no greater happiness than what we find in the Self that Love created. The way is open to have a happy day.

The Bridge of Peace

Peace is the bridge that everyone will cross, to leave this world behind. But peace begins within the world perceived as different, and leading from this fresh perception to the gate of Heaven and the way beyond. Peace is the answer to conflicting goals, to senseless journeys, frantic, vain pursuits, and meaningless endeavors. Now the way is easy, sloping gently toward the bridge where freedom lies within the peace of God. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.200.8)

Being opposites, peace and conflict cannot coexist. The path to peace in the world is to let go of our judgments that are the foundation of conflict. This is why forgiveness is the path to peace. As we learn to see the world through forgiving eyes, we clear the way to experience the real world, free of judgment, where we recognize the innocence of all our brothers and ourselves. We cannot reach this place without help from outside the thought system of conflict, judgment, guilt and fear.

God gave us this help through the Holy Spirit, Who sees the illusions that seem to bind us, but does not believe them and knows they are nothing. Today we will take another step on the bridge of peace as we practice bringing all our thoughts to the Holy Spirit with willingness to receive His perception of the truth in place of our illusions. Thus we will have a day of peace.
