Easy Does It

This time of year can easily feel rushed and stressful. Life can appear complicated and chaotic. It is in these times when it is most important to join with the peace of the Holy Spirit within. When we do this, we make way for clear Vision that always simplifies.

With Holy Spirit, the cobwebs are cleared away and we remember what really matters. We remember only Love is real. We remember we are safe, and God’s Will is all we really want. We let ourselves be carried instead of trying to solve all the problems that come up on our own. We remember to see the face of Christ beyond all the stories of the world.

Instead of getting wrapped up in the stress of the moment, we remember to soften and move into the mindset of ease and gentleness. In this place of ease, we are kind to ourselves and others. As we remember easy does it, we are returned to our right mind and we give thanks.

Beyond All Differences Is Our Union in Light

Think what a holy relationship can teach! Here is belief in differences undone. Here is the faith in differences shifted to sameness. And here is sight of differences transformed to vision. Reason now can lead you and your brother to the logical conclusion of your union. It must extend, as you extended when you and he joined. It must reach out beyond itself, as you reached out beyond the body, to let you and your brother be joined. And now the sameness that you saw extends and finally removes all sense of differences, so that the sameness that lies beneath them all becomes apparent. Here is the golden circle where you recognize the Son of God. For what is born into a holy relationship can never end.” (A Course in Miracles, T-22.Intro.4)

Our practice for today is to be open to the Light of our unity. We share one Identity that is changeless and eternal. We focus on this today and let the Light within heal all belief in differences. We let the Light within shine away the shadows that make differences seem real. Today we are willing to look past the appearance of differences and welcome the truth in our brothers, who are one with us.

Releasing Belief in Specialness

Forgive the great Creator of the universe, the Source of life, of love and holiness, the perfect Father of a perfect Son, for your illusions of your specialness. Here is the hell you chose to be your home. He chose not this for you. Ask not He enter this. The way is barred to love and to salvation. Yet if you would release your brother from the depths of hell, you have forgiven Him Whose Will it is you rest forever in the arms of peace, in perfect safety, and without the heat and malice of one thought of specialness to mar your rest. Forgive the Holy One the specialness He could not give, and that you made instead. (A Course in Miracles, T-24.III.6)

Today our practice is to release the world from all we thought it was. God could not give specialness and so it is not so. Today we let our minds be cleared of false values that make specialness seem real. Today we are willing to open to the truth that everyone is still as God created them, and nothing has really happened to change God’s one Son. Today we accept the peace that comes with letting belief in specialness go. We open to the Light that is behind the illusions of specialness.

Seeing Beyond Appearances to Perfect Happiness

Our practice today is to let the Holy Spirit guide our seeing to look beyond all appearances to the Light of Love that is really there. Only Love is real, and it is Reality we would see. As we open our vision to the Light of Love, all fear and guilt fade away and we are returned to the perfect happiness of our Home in God. As we do this, we bring our brothers with us, for we are one.

We Are All One with God’s Love

Deep within you is everything that is perfect, ready to radiate through you and out into the world. It will cure all sorrow and pain and fear and loss because it will heal the mind that thought these things were real, and suffered out of its allegiance to them.

You can never be deprived of your perfect holiness because its Source goes with you wherever you go. You can never suffer because the Source of all joy goes with you wherever you go. You can never be alone because the Source of all life goes with you wherever you go. Nothing can destroy your peace of mind because God goes with you wherever you go. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.41.3-4)

This world is a reflection of our belief that we have succeeded in separating from God’s Love. But belief does not change the fact that we are still one with Love. We may have hidden it under layers of illusions of fear and guilt, yet the perfection of God’s Love remains What we are. It can never leave us.

This perfection is revealed to us through forgiveness. The layers of darkness that hide the Light of Love in us are simply judgments, which can be let go. These judgments are the cause of all sense of loneliness, loss, depression, fear and guilt. We let go of these judgments when we are willing to turn them over to the Holy Spirit and receive His help to see beyond them to the perfection that remains as it always has been and always will be. This is our only purpose.

Today we dedicate to the practice of turning over all judgments to the Holy Spirit with willingness to have them be replaced by the Holy Spirit’s single judgment — only perfect Love is real.

See the Light in Your Brother and Know Yourself

You do not need God’s blessing because that you have forever, but you do need yours. The ego’s picture of you is deprived, unloving and vulnerable. You cannot love this. Yet you can very easily escape from this image by leaving it behind. You are not there and that is not you. Do not see this picture in anyone, or you have accepted it as you. All illusions about the Sonship are dispelled together as they were made together. Teach no one that he is what you would not want to be. Your brother is the mirror in which you see the image of yourself as long as perception lasts. And perception will last until the Sonship knows itself as whole. You made perception and it must last as long as you want it. (A Course in Miracles, T-7.VII.3)

Because everyone’s true Identity is Love and nothing else, we are eternally safe in Love as Love. We help ourselves and our brother as we see the Love behind all differences. Our inner Teacher can bring us this awareness when that is all we want to see. As we are willing to see only Love, we heal and are healed. This is how we bless and receive God’s blessing. Here we find peace and happiness. Here we find God. Here we find our Self.

Let the Veil of Appearances Be Lifted

Today it will be given you to feel the peace forgiveness offers, and the joy the lifting of the veil holds out to you.

Before the light you will receive today the world will fade until it disappears, and you will see another world arise you have no words to picture. Now we walk directly into light, and we receive the gifts that have been held in store for us since time began, kept waiting for today.

Retain your gifts in clear awareness as you see the changeless in the heart of change; the light of truth behind appearances. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.122.11:2-12:2;13:4)

The appearance of a world of form is a veil that hides the reality of eternal Love from our awareness. The appearance of forms is the effect of the wish to be separate from our Source and make a world of our own. Forgiveness is letting go of the wish to be separate from our Creator, separate from Love.

As we let the Holy Spirit help us let go of the mistaken images and beliefs that we are alone and separate, the appearances that seemed so real become less believable. The more we accept the Holy Spirit’s gentle lesson that we remain the Love that we were created to be, the thinner the appearances become. The veil becomes increasingly transparent and fades away into the nothingness from which it was made.

Contrary to what the ego would have us believe, the disappearance of the veil reveals everything we really want. It reveals God’s gifts of Love and peace and happiness. It reveals our true Identity, which has always remained safe in the Heart of Love. This is what we truly want and it is already ours, waiting only upon our acceptance. Today we would forgive and accept God’s gifts of Love, peace and happiness.
