What Would Love Think?

I have said that you cannot change your mind by changing your behavior, but I have also said, and many times, that you can change your mind. When your mood tells you that you have chosen wrongly, and this is so whenever you are not joyous, then know this need not be. In every case you have thought wrongly about some brother God created, and are perceiving images your ego makes in a darkened glass. Think honestly what you have thought that God would not have thought, and what you have not thought that God would have you think. Search sincerely for what you have done and left undone accordingly, and then change your mind to think with God’s. This may seem hard to do, but it is much easier than trying to think against it. Your mind is one with God’s. Denying this and thinking otherwise has held your ego together, but has literally split your mind. As a loving brother I am deeply concerned with your mind, and urge you to follow my example as you look at yourself and at your brother, and see in both the glorious creations of a glorious Father. (A Course in Miracles T-4.IV.2)

God has one Thought that extends eternally — It is the Thought of Love. To decipher whether a thought is in line with God’s Thought, we can ask ourselves:
Would Love think this?
How would Love respond to this?
How would Love see this?

This passage is telling us that the truth in us is Love because Love is What created us. Love sees only innocence and perfect unity. This is what we will learn to see as we practice asking ourselves these questions. When we think with Love, joy is inevitable, for Love is complete and needs nothing but to extend Itself.

Vision Is Our Greatest Need

Recognizing that what I see reflects what I think I am, I realize that vision is my greatest need. The world I see attests to the fearful nature of the self-image I have made. If I would remember who I am, it is essential that I let this image of myself go. As it is replaced by truth, vision will surely be given me. And with this vision, I will look upon the world and on myself with charity and love.

I would let the door behind this world be opened for me, that I may look past it to the world that reflects the Love of God. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.56.2:2-6;3:4)

Love is everywhere, because only Love is real. We cannot see this Love while we believe we are a separate individual identified with a separate body. The body’s senses are incapable of showing us the Love that is everywhere. Yet we have within us the means to receive the vision that reveals the Love that joins us all as one.

As we let the Holy Spirit be our interpreter in all things, we will learn to see with the vision of Christ. We will recognize the truth in all our brothers… We will look upon the world with charity and Love… We will feel the comfort of perfect safety that Love holds within It… We will feel the joy of joining with and extending Love… We will experience the peace of our Home in God…

Everyone in the world feels the need for Love because the world of separate bodies is the denial of Love. The vision Holy Spirit offers us shows us that we already have and are the Love we crave.

Trusting the Holy Spirit

You are asked to trust the Holy Spirit only because He speaks for you. He is the Voice for God, but never forget that God did not will to be alone. He shares His Will with you; He does not thrust it upon you. Always remember that what He gives He keeps, so that nothing He gives can contradict Him. You who share His Life must share It to know It, for sharing is knowing. Blessed are you who learn that to hear the Will of your Father is to know your own. For it is your will to be like Him, Whose Will it is that it be so. God’s Will is that His Son be One, and united with Him in His Oneness. That is why healing is the beginning of the recognition that your will is His. (A Course in Miracles T-11.I.11)

It is helpful to remember that we wake up from the dream as we step back and listen to the Holy Spirit. He is the Voice of our true will, the Will we share with God.

We who are God’s Light have forgotten our true Identity. As we are willing, the Holy Spirit shines His Light on our false ideas, and in the Light all dark shadows disappear. As we learn to take everything to the Holy Spirit, we are returned to the awareness that we still are one with our Father, and God’s Will is our will. We remember our true Identity.

Sharing Love’s Oneness

And now in all your doings be you blessed.
God turns to you for help to save the world.
Teacher of God, His thanks He offers you,
And all the world stands silent in the grace
You bring from Him. You are the Son He loves,
And it is given you to be the means
Through which His Voice is heard around the world,
To close all things of time; to end the sight
Of all things visible; and to undo
All things that change. Through you is ushered in
A world unseen, unheard, yet truly there.
Holy are you, and in your light the world
Reflects your holiness, for you are not
Alone and friendless. I give thanks for you,
And join your efforts on behalf of God,
Knowing they are on my behalf as well,
And for all those who walk to God with me.

AMEN (A Course in Miracles M-29.8)

We make way for Holy Spirit’s Voice to be heard around the world by letting go of judgment. Today our practice is to turn over all our judgments to to Him Who judges truly. This is how we will see the holiness in our brothers and ourselves. This is how we will learn to recognize the Love we are and share with all our brothers.

How to See Our Brother Truly

The Christ in him is perfect. Is it this that you would look upon? Then let there be no dreams about him that you would prefer to seeing this. And you will see the Christ in him because you let Him come to you. And when He has appeared to you, you will be certain you are like Him, for He is the changeless in your brother and in you.

This will you look upon when you decide there is not one appearance you would hold in place of what your brother really is. Let no temptation to prefer a dream allow uncertainty to enter here. (A Course in Miracles T-30.VIII.5:5-9;6:1-2)

Our practice for today is to let the Christ be shown to us, behind the appearance of every separate brother. We focus on our willingness to let the truth return to our minds today. And we give thanks as the veil is lifted and the changeless Light of Christ is revealed to us. We are filled with joy as we recognize that this Light of Christ reflects our own.  The happy dream replaces the dream of fear as we consistently let the Christ be shown to us in every situation.

Forgiveness Lets the Light of Love Shine Through

The light of the world brings peace to every mind through my forgiveness. My forgiveness is the means by which the light of the world finds expression through me. My forgiveness is the means by which I become aware of the light of the world in me. My forgiveness is the means by which the world is healed, together with myself. Let me, then, forgive the world, that it may be healed along with me. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.82:1)

Today we devote time to receiving God’s peace… We let peace fill our hearts and minds… We remember that as we practice this frequently today, we are extending peace to every mind, because our minds are joined. We give the gift of peace today… and what we give, we receive. This is our important practice today as we remember our true purpose of forgiveness and extending it to the world.

We Are One Self

You are one Self, in perfect harmony with all there is, and all that there will be. You are one Self, the holy Son of God, united with your brothers in that Self; united with your Father in His Will. Feel this one Self in you, and let It shine away all your illusions and your doubts. This is your Self, the Son of God Himself, sinless as Its Creator, with His strength within you and His Love forever yours. You are one Self, and it is given you to feel this Self within you, and to cast all your illusions out of the one Mind that is this Self, the holy truth in you. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.95:13)

The acceptance that we are one Self, along with everyone, is the key to inner peace and happiness. If one Self is all that exists, then there is no adversary — nothing to defend against, nothing to judge, nothing to fear. This one Self was created by Love as Love. There is great joy in the constant extension of Love that is this one Self.

To experience this one Self, we must step back from all judgment, which is simply an ego attempt to separate from oneness. As we let go of judgment, we let go of the false image of being a separate individual. That is forgiveness. We make way for the joyous experience of oneness with everyone and the free flow of Love’s extension. We remember that we are indeed at one with our Creator, sinless, with all His strength within us.
