Nothing Can Happen to Change God’s One Son

The lessons to be learned are only two. Each has its outcome in a different world. And each world flows surely from its source. The certain outcome of the lesson that God’s Son is guilty is the world you see. It is a world of terror and despair. Nor is there hope of happiness in it. There is no plan for safety you can make that ever will succeed. There is no joy that you can seek for here and hope to find. Yet this is not the only outcome which your learning can produce. However much you may have overlearned your chosen task, the lesson that reflects the Love of God is stronger still. And you will learn God’s Son is innocent, and see another world. (A Course in Miracles T-31.1:7)

With the choice to believe that separation from our Source and Identity really happened comes the idea that God’s Son is guilty for opposing God’s Will. As we practice daily stepping back from ego thoughts and choosing to open to Holy Spirit’s thought reversal, a new world is revealed to us.

Where we once saw guilt, we now see innocence. Where we once saw differences, we now see the same pure Light of God’s Love. Where we once saw danger and a need to defend, we now see the safety and joy and peace of joining with our dearest Friend. As we learn the Holy Spirit’s lesson, we know with certainty that nothing has happened to change God’s one Son.

Light Shall Be Our Guide Today

“I will there be light. I will use the power of my will today. It is not my will to grope about in darkness, fearful of shadows and afraid of things unseen and unreal. Light shall be my guide today. I will follow it where it leads me, and I will look only on what it shows me. This day I will experience the peace of true perception.” (W-pI.87:1)

As we are willing to open to the truth, we become aware of the eternal Light in every brother. We naturally see him as he was created by God. We focus on the Love and feel the peace in this holy joining. Seeing everything as Holy Spirit sees it is our path to freedom from the limitations of the ego. It is how we heal and are healed. Light shall be our Guide today.

Truth Returns as We Give up the Unreal

You are not the victim of the world you see because you invented it. You can give it up as easily as you made it up. You will see it or not see it, as you wish. While you want it you will see it; when you no longer want it, it will not be there for you to see. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.32.1:2-5)

Everything we see through the body’s eyes is an invention, because the body itself is the ego’s invention. When we are disturbed by anything we perceive through the body, we are believing an invention is real and reacting accordingly.

The antidote to this is to redirect our attention from the body to the Source of vision in our minds, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit sees past the invented images to the oneness of Love, the only reality. When we are willing to let the Holy Spirit guide our seeing, we are led to look past the unreal to the real.

Because we have identified with the ego, we need help from beyond the ego’s thought system to recognize its unreality. Today our practice is to hold our minds open to the Holy Spirit’s vision. As we are willing, we will see the Light of Love everywhere. With Love comes peace and happiness. Today we choose to walk with Holy Spirit as our Guide.

We Have Help to Awaken

Not one light in Heaven but goes with you. Not one Ray that shines forever in the Mind of God but shines on you. Heaven is joined with you in your advance to Heaven. When such great lights have joined with you to give the little spark of your desire the power of God Himself, can you remain in darkness? You and your brother are coming home together, after a long and meaningless journey that you undertook apart, and that led nowhere. You have found your brother, and you will light each other’s way. And from this light will the Great Rays extend back into darkness and forward unto God, to shine away the past and so make room for His eternal Presence, in which everything is radiant in the light. (A Course in Miracles T-18.III.8)

We find our brother when we recognize the truth in him. We see him truly when we let the Holy Spirit’s Light show us What he is beyond the façade of a body and personality. Our brother is the Love of God, as are we. As we see the Light of truth in our brothers, our Light is reflected back to us — we light each other’s way.

What joy is offered us in exchange for the simple willingness to be shown the truth in our brothers! Our practice today is to welcome the Holy Spirit’s Light and peace that we may receive our brother’s Light and let it shine on the path we journey together to our Home. It is a journey of joy as we awaken to the Light of Love we are.

We See Separate Bodies or One Spirit of Love

Are you invulnerable? Then the world is harmless in your sight. Do you forgive? Then is the world forgiving, for you have forgiven it its trespasses, and so it looks on you with eyes that see as yours. Are you a body? So is all the world perceived as treacherous, and out to kill. Are you a spirit, deathless, and without the promise of corruption and the stain of sin upon you? So the world is seen as stable, fully worthy of your trust; a happy place to rest in for a while, where nothing need be feared, but only loved. Who is unwelcome to the kind in heart? And what could hurt the truly innocent? (A Course in Miracles T-31.VI.6)

Today we have the choice to see through the eyes of separation or the eyes of Oneness. When we choose to join with the ego’s thought system, we experience conflict, and winning and losing. Peace is impossible. When we join with the Holy Spirit’s vision, we are able to see past the false stories to the eternal Love that is always there. The choice is ours today. Choosing with the ego brings unhappiness, stress and pain. Choosing with the Holy Spirit brings peace, happiness and a sense of perfect safety.

Letting Truth Heal All Illusions

Deep within you is everything that is perfect, ready to radiate through you and out into the world. It will cure all sorrow and pain and fear and loss because it will heal the mind that thought these things were real, and suffered out of its allegiance to them.

You can never be deprived of your perfect holiness because its Source goes with you wherever you go. You can never suffer because the Source of all joy goes with you wherever you go. You can never be alone because the Source of all life goes with you wherever you go. Nothing can destroy your peace of mind because God goes with you wherever you go. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.41.3-4)

Our practice for today is to let the truth heal all our stories of separation and the guilt, fear and pain that come with them. The Light is within our minds, waiting for our willingness to let it shine away all our illusions. Today we will there be Light. As we accept the Light in our minds, the images of the world are recognized as having no substance. We see past the fading images to the changeless Love that is everywhere.

Opening to Awareness of Oneness

What is the holy instant but God’s appeal to you to recognize what He has given you? Here is the great appeal to reason; the awareness of what is always there to see, the happiness that could be always yours. Here is the constant peace you could experience forever. Here is what denial has denied revealed to you. For here the final question is already answered, and what you ask for given. Here is the future now, for time is powerless because of your desire for what will never change. For you have asked that nothing stand between the holiness of your relationship and your awareness of its holiness. (A Course in Miracles T-21.VIII.5)

When we are willing to accept the constant joy and peace of our true eternal Identity, our level of happiness never changes. We share God’s constant joy. Today our practice is to let go of the judgments that are a barrier to the awareness of our eternal oneness with our Father. As we notice the judgments, we willingly hand them over to the Holy Spirit to be transformed. We are willing to return to sanity. We willingly hand over the insane thoughts of separation as they come up throughout the day. This is how we free ourselves from the binding chains of the ego thought system. We choose with Holy Spirit today and open to the awareness of oneness and the constant joy and peace it brings.
