Peace Is Our Right as God’s Son

There is a place in you where there is perfect peace. There is a place in you where nothing is impossible. There is a place in you where the strength of God abides.

…Remember that peace is your right, because you are giving your trust to the strength of God. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.47.7:4-6;8:3)

Today is a day of giving time to remember to trust in the strength of God… Today is a day of giving time to accepting the deep peace that comes with accepting the truth of our real safety in God… God’s Son is safe in the Kingdom of Heaven. As we remember to trust in the strength of God in us, we know there is nothing to fear.

Accepting Our Only True Function

For this alone I need; that you will hear the words I speak, and give them to the world. You are my voice, my eyes, my feet, my hands through which I save the world. The Self from which I call to you is but your own. To Him we go together. Take your brother’s hand, for this is not a way we walk alone. In him I walk with you, and you with me. Our Father wills His Son be one with Him. What lives but must not then be one with you? (A Course in Miracles W-pI.V.9:2-9)

Today our job is to practice staying open and receptive to the guidance of the one Self we all share. Our willingness to listen is the key. As we feel the peace and Love of God flowing through us, we receive its blessing and extend that blessing to the world. What is more important than this? What could have priority over this, our only true function?

Healing Through Forgiveness

This is the lesson God would have you learn: There is a way to look on everything that lets it be to you another step to Him, and to salvation of the world. To all that speaks of terror, answer thus:

I will forgive, and this will disappear.

To every apprehension, every care and every form of suffering, repeat these selfsame words. And then you hold the key that opens Heaven’s gate, and brings the Love of God the Father down to earth at last, to raise it up to Heaven. God will take this final step Himself. Do not deny the little steps He asks you take to Him.” (A Course in Miracles W-pI.193.13)

Today we were reminded of the verse from the 23rd Psalm: “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil. For God (Love) is with me.” The shadow of death is simply the ego thought system of being separate from God. When we remember that we always walk with God, there is truly nothing to fear.

The way to remember we are in God is through forgiveness. Forgiveness is letting go of belief in being separate from God. Forgiveness clears away the seeming barriers that interfere with our awareness that we remain as God created us, safe in His Love and filled with His joy. This is how we heal. This is how we remember there is nothing our holiness cannot do. This is how all distress, apprehension and suffering disappear.

Today is a day devoted to forgiveness, or letting go of our belief that we could ever be separate from our Source.

We Remain at Home in Peace

There is nothing in the world that can bring us peace because the world is the effect of the denial of peace, the denial of our oneness with Love. If we want peace, we must look where it can be found, with the vision of Christ. This vision comes when we are willing to set aside our limited seeing and join with the Holy Spirit in our minds. Of ourselves we cannot see. But joined with the Holy Spirit, we see the truth that is everywhere and we remember that we remain at Home in peace.

It is not for us to figure out on our own how to see with Christ’s vision. Our job is only to be willing to set aside our thoughts of limitation by turning them over to the Holy Spirit for His purification. To that willingness the Holy Spirit will add the strength of God and we will learn that the peace we seek is what we are and always have been. We need only be willing to let go of our limited ideas about what we are and receive Holy Spirit’s gift of vision.

Accept Your Father’s Gift

If you but knew how much your Father yearns to have you recognize your sinlessness, you would not let His Voice appeal in vain, nor turn away from His replacement for the fearful images and dreams you made. The Holy Spirit understands the means you made, by which you would attain what is forever unattainable. And if you offer them to Him, He will employ the means you made for exile to restore your mind to where it truly is at home.

Accept your Father’s gift. It is a Call from Love to Love, that It be but Itself. The Holy Spirit is His gift, by which the quietness of Heaven is restored to God’s beloved Son. Would you refuse to take the function of completing God, when all He wills is that you be complete? (A Course in Miracles W-pII.7.3,5)

The Holy Spirit is our Father’s gift to us to guide us back to our function of completing God. In truth we are one with all Love. Today we would accept our Father’s gift. As we receive the blessings the Holy Spirit brings to our minds, we receive the peace and Love that is ours eternally and extend it to the world. This is our function for today. As we accept our Father’s gift, we naturally give it to all.

Let Fear Thoughts Be Undone

Let yourself remember that you are safe in God. Let yourself remember that only God’s Thoughts are true. If fear thoughts come up, you need not keep them. Your freedom lies in handing them over to be healed by the Light of Love. Let today’s practice be to hand over every thought that does not reflect the truth of your reality to be undone by Love’s healing Light.

Love Sees Only Love

It is the nature of love to look upon only the truth, for there it sees itself, with which it would unite in holy union and completion. As love must look past fear, so must fear see love not. For love contains the end of guilt, as surely as fear depends on it. Love is attracted only to love. (A Course in Miracles T-19.IV.A.10:2-5)

When we fall in love romantically with a special partner, we want to be with that partner all the time. We see only the perfection in the other. And we are filled with joy.

In this circumstance, this perception is focused on a special individual. But if we take away that limited focus and let it be all inclusive of all our brothers, imagine the joy and peace we would experience. We would be seeing the Love of Christ in everyone. This Love would be reflected back to us and we would feast on it with joy, for it would fulfill our need to remember the Love we are.

The need to be joined with our brother is the need to remember we are one in the Self that Love created. The seeming ecstasy of the romantic love partner is but a small taste of the pure joy that comes with joining with all our brothers in the one Self we share. Love sees only Love. There is nothing else to see.
