Receiving Holy Spirit’s Light in This Present Moment

Father, we were mistaken in the past, and choose to use the present to be free. Now do we leave the future in Your Hands, leaving behind our past mistakes, and sure that You will keep Your present promises, and guide the future in their holy light. (A Course in Miracles W-pII.314.2)

The way I receive the Light in the present moment is to leave a clean an open space for Holy Spirit’s Light of truth to enter. Receiving the truth takes my willingness to receive it. This willingness requires me to soften my hold on ego thoughts and relax deeply enough to receive Holy Spirit’s peace. Opening to peace is the same as putting the welcome mat out for Holy Spirit to shine away false perceptions.

Focusing on having an open mind to Holy Spirit’s true perception is all I want today. And what I really want in my heart of hearts is what I will receive. For this I give thanks.

Nothing in the present can disturb my peace because only Love is now. Any disturbance comes from overlaying the present with “memories” of the past. All these memories are false perceptions based on the false idea that separation is real and judgment is possible.

Love sees only oneness and therefore cannot judge. This is why Love is revealed when judgment is let go, when the past is forgiven. The Holy Spirit was given us to teach us how to judge truly, which means to recognize what is real and what is not real. This is why my practice today is to hold my mind in peace, open to the Holy Spirit’s Light to reveal the truth in the present moment. With this practice, my peace will not be disturbed.
