Remembering the Peace of God

In A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 205 we read that, “Peace is my one goal; the aim of all my living here….” We all share this goal. How we think we can achieve this goal depends on which thought system we identify with.

If we are aligned with the ego thought system of belief in separation, then we will seek to organize the circumstances around us in a way that we think we will be safe and happy. We seek relationships, a place to live, a work environment, status, the “right” appearance that we think will help us feel safe and loved. Yet all this is based on arranging images that are not real and could never satisfy.

If we align with the Holy Spirit and the Thought of our oneness in God, the Holy Spirit shows us that images are meaningless. Our attention is focused on the Love that is everywhere while the images of the world are dismissed as offering us nothing.

With our attention on the Love that is everywhere, we welcome the peace of God because we are accepting the peace of our one Self. Being one, there is no conflict in this Self. We feel perfectly safe. Being Love, this Self that we are automatically extends Love without limit. In that extension of Love, we experience the Love we are.

Today I choose to give my attention to the loving vision of the Holy Spirit and learn that I truly am already in the peace of God.

My job today is to welcome God’s gift of peace and accept the quiet mind that comes with opening to God’s peace. In this quiet place I am reminded that I rest in God’s united Love eternally.

My true Identity is one With Love. This is my Home. This is where I belong. All this comes with giving the time to welcome God’s gift of peace. I am eternally grateful that peace is always there when I am willing to remember the peace of God.
