The Gift That Unites Us with All

Forgiveness is the only gift I give.

Forgiveness is the only gift I give, because it is the only gift I want. ²And everything I give I give myself. ³This is salvation’s simple formula. ⁴And I, who would be saved, would make it mine, to be the way I live within a world that needs salvation, and that will be saved as I accept Atonement for myself.

Father, how certain are Your ways; how sure their final outcome, and how faithfully is every step in my salvation set already, and accomplished by Your grace. ²Thanks be to You for Your eternal gifts, and thanks to You for my Identity. (A Course in Miracles, W-297. See also ACIM Lesson 297 Insights.)

The ego is the idea that there is value in differences. But the wish to have a unique identity can only seem to be fulfilled in a dream where fantasy replaces reality. The oneness of our Father’s Love is eternal and cannot be effected by fantasy, though It can be hidden behind a veil of illusions.

Forgiveness is the only meaningful gift we can give to anyone. It opens our awareness to the Love that is everyone’s Identity. Because Love is one, forgiveness is a gift that encompasses everyone, including ourselves. Forgiveness brings peace to the world, because there is no conflict within the Love that is one and the same for all.
