Offer Everyone Their Full Due

Mary:
Today we were guided to read A Course in Miracles Workbook, Lesson 37, “My holiness blesses the world.”

Your purpose is to see the world through your own holiness. Thus are you and the world blessed together. No one loses; nothing is taken away from anyone; everyone gains through your holy vision. It signifies the end of sacrifice because it offers everyone his full due. And he is entitled to everything because it is his birthright as a Son of God. (W-pI.37.1:2-6)

My job today is to offer everyone their full due. That is how I bless the world and help myself awaken to my true Identity. We all share one Identity. Accepting this and extending this is my purpose. The Light of God is all there is to see today. This brings me peace and joy.

Robert:
The central, ongoing, everyday lesson for me is to trust in Holy Spirit’s guidance. Since this world was made to deny my Identity as God created It, this world is the expression of distrust of my Self. The world establishes a surrounding that justifies distrust in what cannot be perceived through the body. In fact the body is the central figure in the denial of the reality of Love. It could be said that the mantra of this world is that what the body cannot perceive cannot be trusted.

But the effect of this distrust is ongoing fear because trust is being applied to an illusion of a world that has no substance. Trusting in what has no substance must bring fear with it. Symbolically it’s like stepping off a cliff and trusting that the air will support you. That’s what the ego tells us we are doing if we place our trust in Spirit. Yet actually the reality is the opposite. When we trust in the ego’s images, it is as if we are trusting in being supported by air. When we trust in the Holy Spirit, it’s like standing on an immovable rock.

So where do I want to place my trust? Do I want to be in fear or do I want to be certain of my safety? This is the choice between the world of dreams and the Reality of Love. I have experienced the blessing of remembering that my safety is in Love. In those moments I know without doubt that all my needs are met; I have everything I need when I need it. There is no concern about the future and the past is a forgotten memory. It is this awareness I want to keep in every moment.

This is my focus for today: I trust in God, Who is my Source and my strength. I need care for nothing, for I remain as God created me.

Remembering Who We Are

Mary:
In our reading this morning we were guided to A Course in Miracles, Text, Chapter 31, Section VIII: Choose Once Again. This paragraph is my practice for today:

You are as God created you, and so is every living thing you look upon, regardless of the images you see. What you behold as sickness and as pain, as weakness and as suffering and loss, is but temptation to perceive yourself defenseless and in hell. Yield not to this, and you will see all pain, in every form, wherever it occurs, but disappear as mists before the sun. A miracle has come to heal God’s Son, and close the door upon his dreams of weakness, opening the way to his salvation and release. Choose once again what you would have him be, remembering that every choice you make establishes your own identity as you will see it and believe it is. (T-31.VIII.6)

If I really want to wake up from this dream of separation, I will be vigilant to see the Holy Spirit’s vision of my brother instead of the separate body I once saw there. Everyone is still as God created them. Nothing has happened to change God’s one Son. This is the message I am to receive and extend today and every day. And in this practice we all are blessed. Christ’s strength is invited to prevail.

Robert:
If any circumstance stimulates any level of fear in me, be it a hint of doubt or stark terror, it is a sure indication that I am believing I am a body, separate and alone. Fear is impossible to God’s one Son, Who is one with the only Strength there is. So any doubt, apprehension or fear becomes a blessing when I recognize it as a reminder to redirect my attention to the Source of strength within me. It becomes a gift that I can use to remind me to choose once again to remember that, “I am as God created me. His Son can suffer nothing. And I am His Son.” (T-31.VIII.5:2-4)

Believing in a world of separation is the denial of What I am. I am grateful that God’s loving Voice continuously reminds me that I remain the Love I was created to be and safe in that Love. Like a loving father gently comforts his frightened child, holding him in the safety of his arms, so our Creator calls to us with His Love and surrounds us in the safety of His Arms, saying, “You are safe, dear one. You have never left Me and I will never leave you, for we are one. Let go of the frightening image that crept into your mind. It could never be true. Turn to the Light that we share and remember Who you are.”

From the Unknown to the Known

Mary:
Today is a day to practice placing my trust in God, not in the world. Today is a day of opening my mind to the Holy Spirit for His perspective on everything. Today is a day for paying attention to Holy Spirit’s lead. Today is a day of accepting Holy Spirit’s peace and extending peace to the world. What a happy opportunity I have today!

Robert:
Only Reality is known. With acceptance of Reality, Love is known in all Its fullness, without limit and without end. This knowing cannot be expressed in words, yet it fills all that is. This knowing is certain because there is nothing outside of It.

The world of dreams is the rejection of Reality and thus it cannot be known. This is the world of the unknown. What is not known brings up fear because there is no certainty in the unknown. The ego has an answer for this. It fills the unknown with stories and images. In the dream of the unknown, we believe these stories because they seem to bring us a sense of security. Yet this security is tenuous and brings with it an underlying fear, because beneath the show of certainty is the recognition that the stories and images are based on nothing.

We need to beware of making up stories to fill “empty spaces.” The made up stories are substitutes for the certainty of Love. But because they are based on nothing, they never satisfy. They never make us really feel safe. They also serve as a decoy that diverts our attention from the real Source of certainty and safety.

The Holy Spirit is ever present in our minds, offering us the certainty of changeless Love. This is where we will find peace. This is where we will find safety. The temptation to make up stories to fill the unknown makes it seem difficult to trust in the Holy Spirit’s certainty. We naturally want to believe in what we made. Yet they were made based on a false idea and are incapable of bringing us what we truly want.

So if we really want to experience the peace of God, to know the peace of God, we must be vigilant in paying attention first and foremost to the Holy Spirit’s inspiration, to His gentle correction and loving guidance. To the world of the unknown, this vigilance is unsettling. But to the Self we are, this vigilance brings joy and peace because it leads us back to knowing the certainty of our Home.

The Only Purpose

Mary:
Right now, what is the purpose of “living” in this world? The only purpose is to remember God — remember God in every brother and remember God is still in my mind, behind all the barriers I have placed there. The only purpose now is to let Holy Spirit lead me back to the awareness that in truth, everyone in this dream world of separate bodies has never left Heaven, has never left the one Mind of God.

The only purpose now is to become aware of Love’s presence, which is the only reality. The only purpose now is to forgive or be willing to see past all the false images of separate Identities. The purpose now is to allow the veil to be lifted to see the face of Christ.

This is my purpose today in each present moment. My job is to pay attention to my real purpose. As I pay attention to my real purpose, I will be less inclined to get lost in dreams. I will be able to be truly helpful. I will be filled with the awareness of our Father’s peace and joy, which belong to all of us forever.

Robert:
Father, I give this day to you. It was made to serve an alien purpose, but I know that you will give it a purpose that will lead me Home to You. I want this above all else. I want to remember Who and What I am. I want to remember Love. I walk to you in peace today.

The Certainty of Love

Robert;
As I write this, there are sounds of trucks, chain saws and heavy equipment coming from down the street. It is interesting to observe the curiosity that tells me I should find out what’s going on. This curiosity comes from the part of my mind that thinks the world is real and something is happening. The noise just got louder and seems to command my attention even more. Maybe I should look and see if they are coming into our house! This is just another form of ego distraction that is only there because part of my mind identifies with the body.

The Love that I am is undisturbed and unchanged by this appearance. My focus in every moment is to rest in that Love. This is where I remain at peace, for the Light of Love shines through all appearances and shows me the certainty of my rest in God. Here is my center of peace. Here is my unshakable foundation in truth. From this center of peace, the Holy Spirit calls through me to all who are weary and afraid to come join us in the certainty of changeless Love. Together we rest in the peace of God.

Mary:
This is a day of quiet listening… This is a day of practice, opening up to the Love within me and accepting the peace of God… That’s all I need to focus on. As I do this, everything is made clear. I see that I have everything I need.

Step Back

Robert:
I place all my thoughts, opinions and judgments on Holy Spirit’s altar. They represent a false self I have believed I am. I do not know what anything means or what anything is for. Trying to interpret anything on my own simply interferes with my happiness. Trying to interpret or understand anything with the limited information allowed by the false self simply leads to frustration, disappointment and dejection.

But when I turn all this over to the Holy Spirit and wait in peace for His interpretation to replace my feeble attempts to judge, I find relief, peace and quiet joy. The joy comes because, with the Holy Spirit, I see the Light of the world shine through every appearance. Appearances become insignificant and the Light is all I want to see. My brother becomes a shining star that shows me the Light of the one Self we share. It brings a happy reunion that unites me with my brother and my Source in limitless Love. As I lay my thoughts on Holy Spirit’s altar and step back, I open the door to the gift of Love.

Mary:
As I open my mind to Spirit, the thought comes in that I rest in God… and that everyone rests in God along with me…

I can relax now… no need for efforting or trying to decide on my own what is helpful or not helpful… I need do nothing but step back and listen… the Holy Spirit does it all… There is no separate “I”… there are no separate people… all is continuously safe in the one Mind of God… This is my focus today.

Joining with Holy Spirit

Robert:
Today my job is to focus on the Love in every brother, in every circumstance. Only the Love is real. Everything else is just an appearance perceived through the body’s senses or an image in the mind. As I let Holy Spirit be my interpreter in each moment, appearances fade in value and the presence of Love is increasingly recognized and accepted. Today I choose the Holy Spirit’s vision in place of my own interpretations. Thus will I experience Love’s blessing.

Mary:
This is my prayer today: Holy Spirit I pray that I step back consistently today and open to your healing thoughts. I pray that I trust in Your strength and not my own. I pray that I open to Your peace, Your patience, Your gentleness. Only Your Will, Holy Spirit, only Your Will is my prayer today.
