God Is My Home

Mary:
In our reading of A Course in Miracles this morning, this important message stood out to me:

God is with me. He is my Source of life, the life within, the air I breathe, the food by which I am sustained, the water which renews and cleanses me. He is my Home, wherein I live and move; the Spirit Which directs my actions, offers me Its Thoughts, and guarantees my safety from all pain. He covers me with kindness and with care, and holds in Love the Son He shines upon, who also shines on Him. (ACIM W-pII.222.1:1-4)

This is such a powerful message helping me remember the truth of Where I truly am, always. To help me remember this throughout the day today, I am going to print this out and read it often to help me return to the truth all through the day. Awakening to the truth is all this day is for.

Robert:
Once again we are reminded Where our true Home is. It is only because we believe that we have left our Home that we feel frightened, vulnerable, guilty, unworthy and alone. Yet there is nothing outside of Heaven, which is our Home. So it is impossible that we could be anywhere but at Home.

But dreams exclude what’s around us and focus on a tiny, limited scene that we make up in our minds. This dream is exclusive. No one else can see it; no one else knows its there. Believing that the scene we see is where we are, it is inevitable that we would feel alone and lacking. Yet while we are focused on this dream, the reality of Love still surrounds us and shines upon us. It calls gently to us to awaken and remember Where we are.

Love holds a place for us, no matter what we dream. Love’s Voice calls gently to us, reminding us of Where we are and What we are, offering us help to awaken in peace. Today I will practice opening to that gift of peace and letting it lead me Home.

Remembering My Real Home

Mary:
I see that my job today is to accept my real Home — the life I live in God. As I practice this I see that everyone is there in God. I see that nothing has happened to change God’s one Son, no matter what stories are made up in the dream. Today is my opportunity that I am at Home in God and never left. And that goes for everyone I see in this world.

Robert:
In truth I am at Home in God. I want to remember and know this. This is impossible in the dream of living in a world of separate bodies, but that is because the dream is impossible. I cannot find the possible and real within the impossible.

As I step back and accept the peace that is within me, I feel the comfort of Home — Home sweet Home. In the comfort of Home, I have no concerns, no needs, only perfect happiness. This is what I want to remember. And it is already there within my mind, waiting my acceptance.

As I accept my real Home, the images of the world become less important. I am certain that when I fully accept my Home, the images of the world will disappear, for their meaninglessness will be recognized. While I still believe that some images seem to have meaning, the practice of returning to the peace within helps me rise above the images and loosen my attachment to the meanings I have given them.

Today is a day of practicing, remembering the peace within.

Accepting Our Father’s Gift

Mary:
In our reading this morning in A Course in Miracles, I found this passage to be particularly meaningful:

Accept your Father’s gift. It is a call from Love to Love, that It be but Itself. The Holy Spirit is His gift, by which the quietness of Heaven is restored to God’s beloved Son. Would you refuse to take the function of completing God, when all He wills is that you be complete? (ACIM, W-pII.7.5:1-4)

Love is calling to all of us to be but our true Self. I see that it is my job today to answer that call and receive the awareness of the quietness of Heaven and the function of completing God. I have all that I need to complete my function as I am willing to accept my function of extending only Love. Love is so simple and direct. My willingness is all that is required. Today it is my opportunity to pay attention to my level of willingness all through the day.

Robert:
I will always feel incomplete, that something is missing or lacking, as long as I see my brother as a body, separate and different from me. What Love creates can never be limited and therefore cannot be a body, separate from other bodies.

To know my completion, my wholeness, my innocence, I must learn to recognize the truth in every brother by looking past the image of a body. To learn this, I must be willing to align myself with the Holy Spirit instead of the ego. I want to remember Who I am. So today I will be vigilant for peace and to align my thoughts with Holy Spirit. I am grateful that I have been given the means to remember Who I am.

I Rest in My Father

Robert:
My prayer today: I rest in You, my Father. I would listen to Your Voice and follow Its kind and gentle guidance through the day. I would let It show me the Love in every moment. I would let It teach me to see beyond all form to the safe and changeless eternal present where I am at Home in Love. I thank You for Your gifts, my Father and I would share them with all.

Mary:
My opportunity today is to remember that I rest in God. This means remembering that I rest in peace… I rest in joy… I rest in happiness… My awakening lies in my willingness to remember this truth. I am willing.

Being Prepared with Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit to Robert:
It is not a sin to think about the future. It neither serves you to be afraid of thinking about the future nor to obsess about the future. Just be mindful to always let Me guide your thoughts in the present moment. Your obsession about the future stems from a fear that you are alone and that the future holds danger for you, especially if you are “unprepared.”

I am always prepared, for I am not limited by time. Let yourself stay in peace and join with Me, letting Me guide all your thoughts. With this practice you will always be prepared, for you are joined with Me. Remember the WNYHOO dance: Step back; step aside, let Me guide.

Holy Spirit to Mary:
What are you and Where are you in truth? The truth is you are Love in the Mind of Love. Let yourself remember this as often as possible today. Your willingness to remember the truth about yourself will bring with it peace and happiness. It is worth the vigilance. Have a happy day!

Choosing the Helpful Guide

Robert:
The temptation I am most aware of right now is attempting to “look into the future.” It seems to be a minute by minute temptation to anticipate and plan for the future. It’s so easy to slide into making plans and thinking about “what if’s” and “what could be done.” It does not seem that this is a rejection of my safety in God, yet it is clearly attempting to leave the Holy Spirit out of the process and take control on my own.

Anticipation is lack of trust. What seems to add confusion is that I am wanting to be open to Holy Spirit’s lead and it seems that by planning and anticipating, I may be being open to Holy Spirit’s inspiration (or so I tell myself.) The bottom line is that it’s not for me to figure out on my own. I just need to be vigilant for peace. It is peace that opens the door to Holy Spirit’s inspiration.

It’s okay if I cycle frequently through independent planning, then recognizing I’m shutting Holy Spirit out and stepping back into peace to welcome Holy Spirit. It doesn’t matter if I have to do this many times an hour. I just need to keep being vigilant. This practice progressively loosens my attachment to being alone and strengthens my awareness of oneness in Spirit. Today is another happy day of vigilance.

Mary:
This is what stood out to me in our reading of A Course in Miracles today:

We have seen that there are only two parts of your mind. One is ruled by the ego, and is made up of illusions. The other is the home of the Holy Spirit, where truth abides. There are no other guides but these to choose between, and no other outcomes possible as a result of your choice but the fear that the ego always engenders, and the Love that the Holy Spirit always offers to replace it. (ACIM, W-pI.66.7:2-5)

This reminds me to remember throughout the day which part of my mind I am joining with, the ego or the Holy Spirit. If I am experiencing anything but perfect happiness, peace and joy, it is a signal that I have joined with the ego. My job today is to be vigilant of what I am joining with and to take everything that is not perfect Love to the Holy Spirit to shine His Light on it. What is untrue will be undone in Holy Spirit’s healing Light.

Do I want to be happy today? If I do, then I will be vigilant to consistently join with the Holy Spirit. As I am willing to do this I will remember that everyone is safe at Home with me in Heaven. We are one Light; there is no distance between us. Hooray that only the truth is true and nothing else is true. Hooray that we cannot step outside of the peace and safety of God’s Love. I give thanks to remember once again that only Love is real.

Accepting God’s Garden of Love

Mary:
This morning in our reading, this message in A Course in Miracles carried deep meaning to me:

You have reached the end of an ancient journey, not realizing yet that it is over. You are still worn and tired, and the desert’s dust still seems to cloud your eyes and keep you sightless. Yet He Whom you welcomed has come to you, and would welcome you. He has waited long to give you this. Receive it now of Him, for He would you have you know Him. Only a little wall of dust still stands between you and your brother. Blow on it lightly and with happy laughter, and it will fall away. And walk into the garden Love has prepared for both of you. (ACIM T-18.VIII.13)

From this message I see that my job today is to continue to give welcome to the Christ Mind. As I am willing to open up to the Truth, I will recognize that the ancient journey is over and that we all continue to abide in the Christ Mind because we never left. We are just willing to become aware of it now. And in this place of happy laughter, we become aware of the joy and peace that is forever ours. Accepting this state of joy and peace is my practice today. Accepting God’s Garden of Love is what today is for.

Robert:
It’s getting more and more clear to me I need to withdraw all meaning I have given to any form in the world. No form can bring me happiness or unhappiness, peace or distress. It is only the meaning I give anything that leads me Home to where I am in truth or turns me away toward the hell of separation. Letting go of the meaning I give to anything is forgiveness. To see as my Self sees, this letting go is essential. This is what removes the barriers to Love’s presence.

I see that I have many habits that lead my thinking down divergent paths of separation. But habits can be changed. I need only be vigilant to recognize the diversion and choose again to welcome the vision of my Self. Today is another happy day of vigilance.
