Love Has Forgotten No One: The Answer to Life

by Gary R. Renard

image Introduction: Gary Renard underwent a powerful spiritual awakening in the early 1990s.  As instructed by two ascended masters who appeared to him in the flesh, he wrote his first best-selling book, The Disappearance of the Universe, over a period of nine years.  He was later guided to speak in public and has recently been described as one of the most interesting and courageous spiritual speakers in the world. Gary’s second book, Your Immortal Reality, was also a best-seller.

Over the past five years, Gary has spoken in 40 states, 13 countries, and was the keynote speaker at the International A Course In Miracles Conference in Salt Lake City and San Francisco. He is also the most recent recipient of the Infinity Foundation Spirit Award. The award is given to a person who has made a meaningful contribution to personal and spiritual growth. Past recipients include Dan Millman, Ram Dass, Gary Zukav, James Redfield, and Neale Donald Walsch.

In the third book Love Has Forgotten No One, which will be released this fall, you can learn to dissolve the illusions of time and space and return to reality, which is Oneness with God and perfect love. This is not love the way the world commonly thinks if it. It’s an all-encompassing kind of love that is perfect spirit: innocent, unflawed, immortal, invulnerable and forever fearless. It excludes no one and includes all.

Perfect love, which is Divine in nature, must be experienced, for it is beyond words. Yet words and practice are needed to help lead you to that experience. The knowledge of what it’s like to be one with your Source is the awesome mystical experience that’s been described by masters throughout the ages. It’s the greatest sense of awareness anyone can have while still appearing to be in this world. In this book you will be taught exactly how to get that experience, which upon the end of your physical existence will become your permanent reality.

In Love Has Forgotten No One we learn to:  Hear the “echoes” of God’s love and answers to our prayers in unexpected moments of inspiration and surrender.

• Experience the power of true forgiveness, which leads directly to inner peace and healing.

• Practice true perception that disarms the ego.

• Be one with our source.

These teachings will further help us to trust in the world because we are awakening to the fact that it is not governed by the laws the world made up. The world is governed by a power that is internal and not external as the ego mind world would try to have us believe. It is this internal power that keeps us all eternally safe and it is through this power that we are able to look upon a forgiven world, knowing that what God didn’t create is not real. The more we know that God’s love sustains us the more we will experience happiness and the fulfillment of a life lived in peace. You will find that Love has forgotten no one.

Does Holy Spirit Provide Specific Guidance in the World?

by Regina Dawn Akers

image Since I have been a student of A Course in Miracles (ACIM), I have noticed there is some disagreement about whether Holy Spirit provides guidance in the world or not. I can only speak from my experience, but my experience has taught me, “Yes, Holy Spirit provides specific guidance in the world.”

Some students of ACIM may ask, “Why would Holy Spirit provide guidance in the world when the world is not real?”

The Holy Spirit’s Interpretation of the New Testament (NTI) also teaches that the world is not real, and yet it is very clear in its teaching that Holy Spirit guides us in the world. NTI Matthew, Chapter 23 says:

“I am Truth and Light. Your salvation is found in Me. Look to Me, and I will guide you within the world, but I will guide you within it in order to lead you from it.”

NTI Luke teaches that the thinking we identify with as “my thinking” is ego, or thinking that comes from a false self. Holy Spirit guides us from identification with the false self to realization of true Self. Since it is our individual thinking that taught us we are the false self, we cannot trust that thinking to show us truth. We realize Self by surrendering individual thinking and listening to Holy Spirit, which is the inner-Voice of our desire to remember Self.

In order to remember Self fully, we must surrender self completely. That means that we cannot use individual thinking to guide us. NTI Acts, Chapter 16 says:

“If you leave all things to Me, I will guide you in all things. You will not need to give thought or care to anything you are to do or not do. I will lead you to know what to do and what not to do. All that you are left to do is to willingly do as I ask and enjoy the freedom that is expressed through you.”

I used to think that there were some things Holy Spirit would guide me through and some things that I had to handle or decide on my own. I thought some things were outside of His Interest. I was wrong. Thinking that anything is outside Holy Spirit’s Interest is belief in separation. I came to realize:

Either everything is one, and therefore all is part of the same Interest, or Something is outside that Interest, which means there is something other than one.

When I started trusting Holy Spirit to prompt me about what to eat, when to clean house, when to mow the lawn, etc, I started to feel clear prompts about all of those things. My life began to feel like a flow… a perfect flow from one thing to another.

I don’t know how specific tasks fit with everything for the good of all. But Holy Spirit does know, and when I surrender to Him for everything, I am guided in all things.

I surrender to Holy Spirit by staying in this moment without planning the next moment. For example, I am not planning what I will do next after I finish writing this article. Right now I am fully focused on this article as if it is the only thing I will ever have to do. When I finish this article, I will ask “What am I to do now?” and then I will know what is to be done next. By staying in the moment and focusing fully on this moment without planning the next moment, I am guided from one thing to the next.

I am guided in what to do. I am also guided in what not to do. I don’t always say “yes.” I am also guided to say “no,” and I trust my guidance to say “no” as much as I trust my guidance to say “yes.

NTI teaches us how to ask for, recognize and follow guidance within the world. There are about 50 places within NTI where Holy Spirit teaches us how to follow guidance. NTI isn’t the only spiritual guide that teaches us to follow guidance. As a student finishes the ACIM Workbook for Students, they are told:

“This course is a beginning, not an end. Your Friend goes with you. You are not alone.
“...follow Him Whom you accepted as your Voice, to speak of what you really want and really need…

“He will direct your efforts, telling you exactly what to do, how to direct your mind, and when to come to Him in silence, asking for His sure direction and His certain Word…

“We will be told exactly what God wills for us each time there is a choice to make…And so we walk with Him from this time on and turn to Him for guidance and for peace and right direction.

“In confidence we wait His answers, as we ask His will in everything we do…His love surrounds you, and of this be sure: that I will never leave you comfortless.” (Epilogue to ACIM Workbook for Students)

I’d like to share a story about some guidance I received a few days ago.

I live in North Carolina. I moved here from Massachusetts because I was specifically guided to move here. I’ve lived here 2 ½ years. A friend is staying with me right now, and every day she and I take my neighbor’s baby for a walk around the neighborhood. Usually we walk around the neighborhood three times. But last Friday, things unfolded a little differently.

After our usual three times around the neighborhood, I felt to go around the neighborhood a fourth time. My friend didn’t. She felt to go in the house. Since she is in transition right now, I assumed (ha ha) that maybe my feeling to continue was so she could have quiet time in the house alone. We joyously parted ways, and I pushed the baby’s stroller around the neighborhood a fourth time.

Shortly after beginning the fourth trip around the neighborhood, the baby fell asleep. About halfway around the neighborhood, I felt a strong prompt to stop and sit in the grass next to a small patch of tall trees. After a few minutes, I felt a prompt to lie down in the grass. I fell asleep for no more than a minute or two, but in that short nap a dream came. In the dream, a cowboy in a long winter coat told me, “Go to Pueblo.”

I awoke from the dream immediately with “Go to Pueblo” echoing in my ears. It meant nothing to me. “Pueblo?” I asked. And then I heard, “Pueblo, Colorado.”

I knew instantly that I was being guided to move from this place where Holy Spirit had asked me to come. I am being moved to a new place now.

What are my next steps? In each moment I am to ask, “What am I to do now?” Now, I am writing this article. However eventually when I ask about what to do now, guidance will come prompting me toward the move. Maybe I will feel a prompt to call a specific realtor, for example, and put this house up for sale. The last time we moved a realtor called me, and that is how I knew it was time.

Here’s what I know. I don’t have to make any decisions. I do have to do things, but everything that I do is done in the moment when the prompt comes to do it. And when the prompt comes to do it, the doing will be easy. It will be a flow doing through me.

I am very excited to follow guidance. I am excited to follow guidance because I know following guidance is my path of remembrance. I am not awakened through study of ACIM or NTI. Those tools are helpful, but I am awakened by following the inner Guide, and by trusting that Voice above the voice I mistakenly thought was me.

Here’s another excerpt from NTI about guidance. It’s a great way to close this article. This is from NTI Acts, Chapter 10:

“The guidance that God sends comes to you with one purpose. The purpose of this guidance is to lead you from the world of illusion back to God, where you belong. This is the only purpose of any guidance you seem to receive. Guidance from God can have no other purpose.

“Within the world of illusion, you have made yourself into what you believe you are. This self is wholly illusion. It is not what you are. And yet, it is what you believe yourself to be.

“Since God granted you freedom in the creation of your Self, you are free to believe that you are what you are not. But once you have recognized the desire to be again that which you are, you must be led from who you think you are to your truth. This guidance will come to you as what is always helpful for you based on where you stand, but this guidance may not always be what you expect it to be. For if God was to fulfill your expectations, which are based on who you think you are, He would be teaching you that you are what you are not. This is not a lesson that God will teach.

“He will reach out to you through His Holy Spirit, which is His appointed Messenger sent to you within your dreams. This Messenger, knowing who you think you are, will meet you there in your dreams and talk to you as if you are the one you think you are. But this one comes to you for only one purpose and with only one goal. His purpose is to awaken you by leading you from where you think you are to the remembrance of what you must be.

This is a holy purpose, and He comes to you in gratitude, grateful to meet you in your dreams and grateful to bring you Home. For there is nothing the Holy Spirit is not grateful for. He is grateful for all things, because He sees truly.”

Bodies, Planes and the Way Out

by Rev. Mary Gerrard Lenihan, author of The Mentor Within

image Holy Spirit, speak to me about how A Course in Miracles says, “The world is not left by death, but by truth … “ (T-3, VII. 6:11)

Beyond the body is an illusion of peace, but peace will not be found here while your mind is ransacking itself. No mind without God can envision a beyond the body experience. God will appear to enter your illusion upon death and afterwards; in reality there is no place to enter. Upon death’s entrance into your life in this world, nothing changes unless you decide otherwise. Your mind does not need your current version of your body to have cause and effect.

So, are there etheric, emotional, mental, astral, causal, spiritual … bodies and planes?

They are all “levels” in the illusion that can be released into truth to help you in the world. To think your ego mind can alter these levels in any way that can be helpful is a game of form manipulation; the form is different at these various levels, but the underlying thought of separation from God has not been healed. These levels of perception exist because of the separation experience, which need not be at the forefront of consciousness to have cause and effect. If one is unaware of the thought of separation, any attempt to heal within the thought of separation only brings a possible change in form and an altered experience, but not true healing.

What happens there, on all of these levels?

Everything an ego mind without a dense body wants to make happen. It is a further illusion of freedom unless given to the Mind of Freedom to be released from fear. The ego mind-body is one level of the illusion. The ego mind, less dense body is another level of the illusion.

In the ego mind, less dense body, how long do I stay there?

You are there. You just perceive it as separate levels because you are identified with your physical body in this world. Body identification is weak on these other levels, but still intact. You experience time and space differently as you experience your body differently. Though your form and experience is altered, time and space remain.

Are these planes and other body forms somehow “higher” though still in the illusion?

So it appears. One may experience it as such because of the weaker identification with the body. It may provide a glimpse that you are not a body. But this is not the kingdom of Heaven that I embrace for you — your worthiness lies not here.

How do I get to the kingdom of Heaven? How do I release all “levels” of the illusion and the grievances I hold within these levels?

Stop playing in the illusion. You are playing in death. You are already dead. I am calling you to Life. Your death ensued when you left Me. Your Life returns when you decide you have had enough of death. In this moment, you wake up in Love.

I have experienced moments “out” of the illusion, seemingly out of time and space. What about these experiences?

These are not different levels Mary. You, and others, experience all of these levels within your life in the world now.

Yes, I remember.

What is your experience?

I am taken out of my little perceptions of myself, others, and the world. A solidity of lightness is one way I can describe it. I return to my world different.

The physicality of the world all seems less like truth and more like illusion; the spirit in the world seems more like truth and less like illusion. The two appear to be occurring simultaneously as the physical becomes unreal and Spirit becomes real.

This is helpful, yes?

I find myself more willing, more open to giving over my perceptions to Holy Spirit and be led because there is a sense of reality — real reality. How can this be happening in the illusion?

This is our working ground. Remember, I am in the world, but not of the world. In forgiveness, the last illusion, we are suspended from time and space.

The ego made time and space to solidify its grievances with God; to make them seem real to keep the separation thought happening in the mind.
What are the ego’s grievances with God?

When time and space do not go its way, the ego has a grievance. Of course, fear is the main grievance which it has projected onto God; hence a judgmental, punishing, and distant God. “Who in their ‘right’ mind,” the ego tells you, “would want to have anything to do with such a God?” In suspended time and space you experience the absence of the duality of time and space; there is a glimpse of Oneness that you can take back with you, as you recognize it is you, into the world. Though this Oneness is not of time and space, it can operate in it through forgiveness, through you. You are the means by which Oneness enters the world through forgiveness.

Forgiveness is how Oneness enters the world then, and forgiveness is how we leave the world and enter the Oneness. Forgiveness goes two ways on a

One Way street because it only sees One!

Forgiveness is the bridge to your Self. This is the truth by which you leave the density of the illusion and experience the solidity of Love, the kingdom of Heaven.

Undoing the Illusion of Needs

by Nouk Sanchez

image We all are conscious that we have needs, needs that perhaps are not yet fulfilled and ones that are. And we don’t want to lose those things that we have so far acquired do we?  Unconsciously we set up expectations and strategies that the ego uses to protect and defend them. Realizing this you can ask then, what are your perceived needs? Do they include increased income, a home, an experience, to be a parent, more love, family, status or approval?

It’s not until we’ve arrived at a point of trust in the Holy Spirit that we can begin to see that there exists an illusion of needs and truly understand why this is so. Until then, we resist the idea that any perceived need (other than forgiveness and waking up) is not real.

We seem to have many needs, most of which are unconscious and uninvestigated and therefore they lurk in our minds and reappear as outer projections that we often react to. And the minute we react to an exterior trigger we temporarily feel/believe we’re a victim of it. For example, many years ago I believed that I needed my husband’s love and I also needed both my mother’s and daughter’s love too. But acting from the unquestioned ego I thought I knew what love was. I was wrong.

To me back then, the idea of love came loaded with personal and collective desires or needs that I believed should be met by my husband, mother and daughter. These unquestioned desires arose from the ego’s addiction to special love. I had a set of needs for my partner, my mother and another for my daughter. And my belief that they should meet my ego’s needs caused us all conflict when those needs were not met the way I expected them to be.

I had special (conditional) relationships with my loved ones including my aging mother. As a mother myself I found I was still acting as a child with my own parent demanding she give me the love and approval that appeared to be withheld from me when I was growing up. And with my daughter there seemed to be another set of needs as well. What I didn’t realize back then was the ego’s purpose of these perceived needs, which is always to preserve the specialness of our relationships that leads to separation in various forms.

As a mother, I finally sat down and asked myself a simple question, “What do I need my daughter for?”  During radical self inquiry I had to say that I needed her to love me. But because I did not yet know love (hadn’t undone the ego) I wanted her to meet my ego’s expectations. These included some of the following:

•  Do what I ask; be good at school, clean up, eat well, pray.

•  Behave as I ask and expect; be affectionate, kind, thoughtful, helpful.

•  Agree with me; don’t argue or whine.

•  Share my interests: art, ACIM, writing, my sense of style, my values and ideas, etc

In other words I needed my child to mirror to me my self-worth. My identity as a ‘good parent’ was at stake and I depended on her meeting my ego’s perceived needs. I, as a mother, made the common mistake of perceiving her as a child and me as the superior mother in the ego sense. While we as parents must provide ‘parenting’ for our growing children much of our parenting is unconsciously rooted in ‘form’ and not ‘content.’ We forget that the focus of any relationship is always ‘content’ not form. Content arises from being mindful in everything we do. The bottom line in all our relating is to ask ourselves, “Is this arising from fear, resistance and the need to control or is it coming from love, forgiveness and trust?”

Too often, as parents, we respond automatically from the ego to a child’s seeming conflict. We forget that all conflict is purely a disguised call for love and therefore deserves a loving response.

Our children are our teachers. Every time they press our buttons we’re being asked not to employ the ego’s usual resistance, avoidance and control tactics. A sign of conflict is an opportunity to do the opposite of what the ego advises. In allowing a Holy Instant without judgment, the Holy Spirit can inspire profound healing and increase our ability to trust.

For instance when our 15 year old told us that she just could not do another day at school, we nearly flipped out. We knew she was experiencing a crisis but to leave school?

The incident called both Tomas and I to ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and the guidance we got flew in the face of the world’s idea of help and ours as well. As it turned out she required an 18 month leave from school that helped her recover her sense of Self (not ego) and undo a significant block she had harbored to the awareness of Love within and without. This was a difficult period as some family, friends and peers strongly disagreed with our guidance insinuating that as parents, we were being irresponsible to say the least. Yet through this lesson we learned to trust the Holy Spirit and therefore increase our trust in the journey of unlearning that we call ‘undoing the ego’.

When we talk about our ‘needs’, we must stop and ask, “Is this true?” And honestly inquire, “What is this for?” Try it next time you find your buttons pressed by someone or something. If you feel conflict or unease it’s because you believe a thought or value and it’s really your own resistance that’s causing you distress. No body and no thing outside you can cause your problems, only your thoughts or judgments can be the culprit. This is one of the quickest ways to undo the ego, the thought of separation. The ego is the “I” you think you are, yet Who you really are beneath the ego along with the immense joy this awareness brings, will surpass your wildest imaginings!

The Ego Wants You to Need…

The ego wants you to keep on needing. Why? When you feel deprived, it’s the ego’s voice that you’re listening to. And when you believe it then you will follow its instructions and not the Holy Spirit’s.

Exercise: Let’s try this exercise where we transfer the meaning of the word ‘need’ to the word ‘use.’ In other words, take the question, “what do you need your partner, children, friends, parents, income, career, holiday, etc for? Name something/someone you feel anxiety about and substitute the word ‘need’ here with the word ‘use’. So the real question would be, “what do I use my _________ for?” Or “What do I use my career, sickness, health, body, pet, for?” or “What do I use the idea of scarcity for?” “What do I use money for?” Be specific and radically honest. While on the surface we use these things for positive reasons, can we dare ask Holy Spirit to really reveal how the ego uses these to keep us trapped in a cycle of fear and distrust?

In any area or with any person you feel conflict, this exercise can be very revealing and healing. It can show you where you unconsciously hide the fears that cause your projected reality including all conflict of which you may feel victim. Once the ego’s unconscious intentions are revealed they can be dispelled but it takes our commitment to ‘look’.

Radical honesty, looking at your perceived needs with Holy Spirit, calls in a loving Observer Who will reinterpret whatever is being brought to the light of Truth. Just looking with Spirit allows correction and transformation. Be willing to look without guilt; that is all that’s asked of you. Watch the miracles unfold!

If You Need Something From Someone Then You Cannot Love Them.

The seat of the special relationship lies in the ego’s belief that its needs should be met by others. When they are met we call that love and when they’re not we call it hate, or conflict. It takes a lot of unlearning to appreciate why we can’t really love someone (partner, parent, child, friend, etc) while we think we need something from them. Why? Because when we think we need something from another we unconsciously see them as being different than us. The ego says they ‘have’ something that we ‘lack’ which immediately calls in the ego’s addiction to dependency and differences. An unconscious dependency is fueled by the ego’s investment in making you feel deprived. After all it thrives on deprivation because without it you wouldn’t believe that you are lacking in any way. You’d remember your natural inheritance; absolute love with no opposite and all your relationships would reflect no needs and therefore, no dependency or difference. So when we think we need something from another we can’t really love them; in place of real love is the ego form of special love.

In the ego state (deprivation) as children we needed approval, acceptance, and validation from our parents. Even as adults we sometimes still try to wrestle these things from our aging parents especially if we didn’t receive them when we were young. And in our relationships with partners we do the same. All our sense of ‘needing’ here is at the level of form and is always related to our body including our emotional body. The one thing that makes us think we ‘need’ is a sense of deprivation. But there’s only one real thing we do need. That is to heal our perception of the sense of separation that goes way back to our original decision to make a self that willingly entered this life (a dream) apart from God.

And the one remedy for all our needs does not rest with the body but within our mind. Our mind is the only cause. Therefore all needs are really just the ego’s manipulative ploy to distract us from our one need; which is to awaken through forgiveness.
