Coming Home

by Rev. Colleen Mc Nally

image I come to peace
I come to Love
and
I know
This is Holy Spirit’s purpose for me
and
I feel the power of Holy Spirit
I feel the power of Presence
I feel the power of Love
and
I know that I am Home.

Welcome Home
Welcome Heart
Welcome Love

Thank you Holy Spirit for calling.

My Prayer

I release
I let go
I stand strong in Love

I walk to God
while
I listen for a while

To the Voice of Spirit
Who
Leads the way.

The Beauty of the Easter Lily

by Rev. Sharyn Zenz

image I recently had an Accessing Inner Wisdom Counseling from one of our newly ordained ministers. In the counseling what came up was the fact that I feel unworthy and not beautiful because of being overweight. The new focus that came from the counseling was that Holy Spirit told me to sit every morning and write about beauty. He said that as I do this daily, I will be reminded that when I see the beauty in others, I am really seeing it in myself, as we are One. So on Easter morning I sat and wrote. This is what came to me:

Beauty comes from within. It comes from quieting your mind and listening to Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit only sees beauty, which is the same as Love. To walk in beauty is to walk with Holy Spirit.

Looking through the body’s eyes will not show you beauty. It will only show you what ego thinks. People give others flowers to remind them of their beauty or to thank them out of gratitude.

This day let the Easter Lily remind you of your beauty and the beauty in everyone. Let the long trumpet-like flowers remind you of the trumpets announcing your coming into your beauty. Let the white flowers remind you of the purity and the peace and the innocence that you truly are. Let the tall stems remind you of standing tall always in your beauty and also let them remind you of your strength and that you gain this strength from going inside and listening to Holy Spirit tell you of your beauty.

Remain strong in your vigilance for peace. When you look at the Easter Lily, there is a grace about it and a peace. This is inherent of its beauty and also yours. Holy Spirit only sees strength, purity, peace and innocence. He sees your strength as the gift that God gave you, for it is your strength and willingness that will bring you Home.

Holy Spirit also sees the peace that you are. This peace is found within you every time you let go of the tight grip that the world has on you. This peace that is found within is probably the most important gift you can give yourself, for it is in that peace that when you go within to Holy Spirit you will find the answers to everything.

So you see, let today remind you to always go within first to gain the peace that is necessary to see your innocence and purity. And also let today be an important day for you to start remembering the strength that you really are and the strength that comes when you go to Holy Spirit. Go today and walk in beauty, knowing that God goes with you wherever you go.

After finishing my writing that morning I went to A Course in Miracles and found this beautiful passage that pertained to what I had just received from Holy Spirit:

“This is the way to Heaven and to the peace of Easter, in which we join in glad awareness that the Son of God is risen from the past, and has awakened to the present. Now is he free, unlimited in his communication with all that is within him. Now are the lilies of his innocence untouched by guilt, and perfectly protected from the cold chill of fear and withering blight of sin alike. For your gift has saved him from the thorns and nails, and his strong arm is free to guide you safely through them and beyond. Walk with him now rejoicing, for the savior from illusions has come to greet you, and lead you home with him.

“Here is your savior and your friend, released from crucifixion through your vision, and free to lead you now where he would be. He will not leave you, nor forsake the savior in his pain. And gladly will you and your brother walk the way of innocence together, singing as you behold the open door of Heaven and recognize the home that called to you. Give joyously to your brother the freedom and the strength to lead you there. And come before his holy altar where the strength and freedom wait, to offer and receive the bright awareness that leads you home. The lamp is lit in you for your brother. And by the hands that gave it to him shall you be led past fear to love.” (T-20.10-11)

After reading this from the Course, I realized that not only was it important for me to go within to see my beauty in order to return Home, but it was also very important for me to see the beauty in all my brothers as we walk together in beauty on our journey Home. Also as I see their innocence instead of guilt, their strength instead of weakness and their peace instead of the chaos in my brothers, I am also seeing it in myself.

Trusting God’s Plan

by Revs. Robert & Mary Stoelting

image A few months ago we received the guidance that it would be in the best interest of everyone if we would move Pathways of Light to Florida. At first we resisted because we are so comfortable here, but as we let go of our own ideas, we remembered that only God’s plan would ever make us truly happy.

The last few months have been filled with letting go of stuff that no longer serves us and preparing the buildings here to be in good condition for the next organization or family who is guided to live here. Because the residence is 50 years old, there has been much to do here to prepare it for its next residents. So far we are about two-thirds of the way finished with the renovation, including replastering, painting, recarpeting and completely redoing the kitchen and bathrooms.

Through this process we have had many lessons in letting go and letting God. We have had many lessons in stepping back not deciding anything on our own. We have had the opportunity to meet people who we would never otherwise have met.

For example, one day the guys tiling the kitchen floor needed more grout from Home Depot. We drove to the store and on the isle where the grout was located someone had recently vomited on the floor. The associate who worked in that area was very fearful of germs and would not come anywhere near that isle to help us. Once we saw that she was not coming we went to where she was at the end of the isle and waited together for the clean-up guy to come. After it was cleaned we looked for grout but they did not have enough of what we needed so we went together to the computer and found another store that had what we needed.

The sales person shared with us that she felt guilty that she fled the scene and would not go down that isle where the mishap occurred. Mary found herself telling her that she was innocent and asked if it would be okay if she gave her a hug. She opened her arms to hug and Mary told her that she was a Child of God and that she was safe in God. She told her that everything was going to be okay and that in truth, she was safe. The sales person responded with a big smile and shared that hearing this made her day.

Well, Mary is not in the habit of telling people in stores that they are a Child of God and that they are safe in God, but she ended up doing just that and trusting what was coming up to share in the moment. This is just an example of how Holy Spirit works when we allow it.

One of the most important lessons we have been learning through consistent practice is that choosing peace brings clarity. It is becoming more obvious that if we are not in a place of peace, then the ego false mind is driving the bus.

We have many opportunities daily with all the renovation activity along with our normal daily activities to take the time to join with Holy Spirit’s peace often. When we stop and join together with Sharyn in the office to let Holy Spirit’s peace fill our minds, there is a natural quiet, gentle feeling that fills everything. In this place of quiet gentleness, clarity is found. What seemed hard becomes simple. Worry or concern become replaced with a feeling that all is safe, all is well. A sense of trusting the process in the present moment replaces worrying about the past or future. a calm, serene feeling flows through and what we need to know to be truly helpful comes with it in the moment.

We remember that all that is real is perfect Love right now and nothing can ever change that truth. We remember to trust God’s plan, not our own. We remember that waking up from the dream of separation is all that is important.

The Holy Spirit has one purpose for everything we perceive in the world. He sees it as means to be used to help us awaken from the dream of separation. This is the complete opposite of the ego’s purpose of perception. When we step back and welcome peace, we open our minds to Holy Spirit’s perception. When we accept Holy Spirit’s perception, we accept Holy Spirit’s purpose and we move another step closer to awakening from the dream. We move closer to the remembrance of Heaven as our Home.

No matter what it looks like we are doing or experiencing in the dream, it can always be used to serve the awakening of the Sonship. Most days we share our process and experience of practicing following Holy Spirits lead in the Yahoo group “Following Holy Spirit’s Lead.” Join us by going to http://groups.yahoo.com/following_Holy_Spirit.

Gave My Heart

by Laurie Immekus

imageThis is the story of how I wrote the poem, “Gave my Heart.”

One day I saw a panhandler. She reminded me of myself. I had run away from home at 17, and I’d lived on the streets of Chicago with a group of street kinds. We panhandled to get money to eat.

After that time was over and I had resumed what I thought of as a more acceptable existence, I had feelings of shame and guilt that would come up when I thought about my life as a runaway.

So one day, years later, after I had taken the glorious path of Spirit, I saw a panhandler, and something started to move in me. Up to that point, I think I just didn’t allow myself to see panhandlers. When I saw this panhandler, I told myself I was in a hurry and didn’t have time to give her anything. But she continued to remain in my mind. What I didn’t know was, in Mind, I was ready for healing, and so I must have called her to show herself to me, to show me myself, to show Self.

As I thought about her, I saw I needed to forgive myself for what I deeply regretted, for what I feared to look at, for what I felt guilty about but was not guilty about. For everything unreal. And in so doing I allowed Holy Spirit to heal more of my mind. So she was a savior to me. I saw we were One.
In the world’s perspective, all this trust. Later I came upon someone outside the grocery store with a sign “Will work for Food.” I stopped my car, got out, and gave him some money. I think it was $20. On the way home I realized that I was wishing I had given him more money. I realized later that I was forgiving my runaway self through him, seeing the Light in both of us, and healing the past in the present.

I see quiet saviors everywhere, allowing us to give to ourselves and see our own Divinity in another person’s face. We all are saviors for each other, for those whom we don’t think we know but do know. We are each other. I am grateful to all of you.

Here, then, is the poem.

Gave My Heart

Saw a beggar
passed her by
I wish I’d given
All my change.

Saw a panhandler
Gave all my change
I wish I’d given
All my paper money.

Saw a brother
Gave all my paper money
I wish I’d given
My heart.

Saw a savior
Gave my heart.
