At Pathways of Light in Kiel I was part of one amazing ordination where all eleven students were so loved and nurtured by three of the most awesome facilitators, till we began to heal and became more loving and became nurturers to each other. It felt like my whole self was being made complete.
Upon returning to Texas I began to experience some resistance on following the type of ministry He has called me to do, and so I was having trouble making the adjustment here at home. I began isolating, crying and not responding to my emails, not returning letters. Yet I was extending love to those who were placed in my path.
Myron suggested that we do an Accessing Inner Wisdom Counseling. Well you know how that went. It was a suggestion and I chose not to. Then things got worse for me. Myron offered again, and this I heard her when she said, “Mary, no one needs to be that miserable.” My response was, “Thanks for pointing that out.” So we finally did the Accessing Inner Wisdom Counseling.
It brought me right back to my issues with religion and how that would look in my ministry, and my resistance to the Holy Spirit’s message that He has called me to minister out in the streets. I was afraid He wanted me to preach to my brothers and do revivals. I didn’t want to do that. This is religion as I’ve known it in the past, and the only kind of street ministry I have ever seen, and I didn’t want any part of it.
In the Accessing inner Wisdom Counseling, the Holy Spirit comforted me and let me know that He was so okay with where I was with religion and if I would never step into a religious church again while I am having a human experience, He let me know He would not change His Mind about me or His Love for me. The Holy Spirit let me know that the Call He has spoken into my heart and soul is to extend His Love to the hearts and souls of my brothers in the streets, the ones who feel so separate and alone.
Okay, you would think I would have surrendered by now. Not. There was still resistance. The ego kicked in and said, “What would your people think?” That’s where the ego used the wrong weapon, yet at the right time. It did bring up a fear that I needed to give up. “Holy Spirit, as I go out to the streets, please keep my friends and family safe.”
He said, “Mary I have placed angels in front of you in body form. I called all you together in Kiel to join Me in oneness. To bless each one’s journey. Mary, each one has a vital role in My calling you to the streets. Each one will be right with you on your journey. Love, before you enter the streets, invite Me and your angels to come along and we will. This is the sure way of not running on ego. Together in oneness with Me and your brothers we will accomplish extending true Love. That is your only purpose.”
“So Holy Spirit, what about this communion stuff that you are talking about? Man, I don’t know how to give communion.”
“That is why I chose you, so that I can do it through you. Communion is the symbol of the joining of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Whose union only seemed broken by the belief in separation. As you use communion in the streets as a symbol to help everyone accept their innate holiness, you will internalize the holiness in you and the holiness of your brothers in the street. Remember I am here always. Mary, all that I Am, you are. Your body Your body will only serve as a communication device for your brother to hear the truth about their innate innocence through you.”
So to all my angels, I am taking ACIM to the streets. My commitment:
• I will always invite the Holy Spirit and you, my angels, along.
• I will give out a Love Kit titled, “Love in the Nick of Time.” The “Love Kit” includes a zip lock bag with the booklet, Introduction to A Course in Miracles, and I Remember Who I am laminated bookmark, and contact numbers. I welcome any other suggestions.
• I will have fresh communion bread, juice and keep my brass set clean and sterile.
• And most important, I will extend only Love.
When communion is being given, i will step back and know that Holy Spirit is giving it.
I am buying the books from Pathways as I can afford them. If anyone feels guided to support this ministry of the street, please send donations for the Introduction to ACIM booklets to Pathways and just say what it is for.

About ten years ago I met a lady named Mrs. Gaskin. She gleamed of love, spoke softly and was peace filled. Mrs. Gaskin asked if she could visit me sometimes, and I said yes. I felt comfortable around her even though my dad was prejudiced and taught us never to trust white people.
Right away trusting her felt right. She never judged me even though I was on drugs and depressed. She loved me right where I was, and wanted nothing from me. Every week Mrs. Gaskin came and no matter what I was doing when she called, I stopped. That amazed me because, as an addict, I would not have normally stopped.
She would tell me to always look her in the eye, and to always do this with everyone. I could even look the President in the eye for he is no more or less than me in the eyes of God. At that time I could not look anyone in the eye. Slowly I learned. I learned to write my past down and get it out. I was encouraged to read books to learn of my strengths. I learned about forgiveness.
Every once in a while she would gently mention her husband who was in AA, and what he was receiving from it. I learned in those two years that God sends angels in people like this. I always said one day I want to give what that angel gave to me. I want to give someone else hope, and a way out of hell. I want to help someone else learn to love unconditionally and not to judge anyone. Most of all, I want to help someone else to know God and trust where He sends them, just as Mrs. Gaskin did.
It is important to help others believe in themselves. At that time I felt there was no way out, and no one cared. I just wanted to die. I cried every time I opened my eyes in the morning because I felt I had to go through the same hellish day again. For God to send this precious lady every week to the projects where shootings, robberies, and rapes were commonplace happenings, helped me to learn something new about myself. I saw in her a protector, a loving giving unshakable power, and that I could one day claim this for myself.

“Perhaps the greatest enigma of time is that nobody has enough of it, yet we almost always succeed in wasting it.” -Pete Mockaitis, The Student Leader’s Field Guide.
When I read this quote I recognized its truth for many of us. I remembered a conversation between two people talking about how busy they were. They were actually one-upping the other with how many hours they worked and how few hours they rested!
Many conveniences add to our lives. I once stood over a fax machine thinking to myself, “Hurry up!” I quickly laughed out loud at the thought, realizing in the not too distant past I would have mailed such a document and it would have taken days to reach its destination. We enjoy many such items to do things quicker in an effort to “save time.” More time for what, though?
Perhaps you know someone that is always in a rush. They are busy, busy, busy. You ask, “How are you?” The response is, “Busy!” Driven to do more, better and keep up with “The Jones,” they eventually reach exhaustion. Too little time for themselves and others can bring imbalance into their lives. I invite you to notice where you spend your time. What are you doing with your “time saved”?
A good measure of time spent wisely is the experience of inner peace. I found that a balance of prayer and meditation support the choice of inner peace. I think of prayer as the time I spend talking to God; meditation as the time I spend listening to God. Once I begin my day with these spiritual practices, I find that inner peace can co-exist as I go about the activity of the day.
The key to spiritual practice is to do it. A Course In Miracles is my path to increasing inner peace. It takes time. It takes practice. The more you take the time, the easier it gets. The experience of inner peace, however fleeting, is well worth the investment of some of your “saved time.” Namasté.

When I give up judgement I am left with kindness.
When I leave someone out, I am choosing arrogance and judgement and am covering up kindness.
When I look for offenses of others, I am attempting to hide my own guilt.
When I look for witnesses to my own imperfection in my mind, kindness can not be seen, though it is never absent.
When I deny the True Self in what I think or see in others beyond form and behavior, kindness is without meaning.
Love heals the mind with kindness.
God’s thank you is kindness.
The power of decision is our own.
