A Chicken Body or a Human Body, It’s All the Same Oneness!

by Rev. Andrea Sassa Archuleta, O.M.C.

Rev. Andrea Sassa ArchuletaLesson 94
I am as God created me.

Today we continue with the one idea which brings complete salvation; the one statement which makes all forms of temptation powerless; the one thought which renders the ego silent and entirely undone. (W-pI.94.1:1)
You are as God created you.

The sounds of this world are still, the sights of this world disappear, and all the thoughts that this world ever held are wiped away forever by this one idea. Here is salvation accomplished. Here is sanity restored. (W-pI.94.1:3-4)

If you have been following my writings in Miracles News, you know I live in the foothills of Santa Fe, New Mexico. My husband and I tend a small farm which includes five beautiful chickens. In mid-May, one of our chickens suddenly became ill and within a day her body stopped functioning and died. We were quite sad, having grown very fond of all of the “girls” and their cackling. We were also very confused by her sudden death and concerned about the rest of the flock.

When Guilt Comes Up…

by Rev. Susan Comello, O.M.C.

Rev. Susan ComelloFor months, I tried to write the comprehensive article on guilt. I had a mountain and an ocean of guilt come up. When I tried to write about it, I kept feeling overwhelmed and could not finish it without resulting in jibberish and more guilt and confusion.

No wonder. I was trying to explain an insane thought system. I was using ego to try to make sense of things. Because I took on the premise that what I was experiencing was in any way possible or plausible, I kept wallowing in the quagmire of trying to make sense of what is not real.

Here is another attempt to write about it all. I was raised with guilt as my guide. I was told I would go to hell because I thought I was beautiful. So to be guilty was actually useful because it might keep me from going to hell when I die. (For much of my life, little did I know that guilt itself IS hell.)

Trusting My Own Experience

by Rev. Larry Glenz, O.M.C.

Rev. Larry GlenzThere are still some ACIM concepts to which I have resistance. Lesson 128 was my Workbook lesson of the day: The world I see holds nothing that I want. I would be embarrassed to tell any of my non-Course friends about this lesson. I feel like they would say, “Who would want to devote themselves to such a depressing concept?”

I have studied the Workbook many times over the last 20 years using different methods. This year I decided to do it with James Twyman and his Chorus of Miracles.

The One About Perception

by Rev. Stephan Mead, O.M.C.

Rev. Stephan MeadLast week, Nancy and I travelled across the country, Seattle to New York, to attend my nephew’s wedding. Nancy had never been to New York, and was excited about the trip. So was I. Several months ago we received the invitation, and from then on my “projector” was working at warp speed.

“Projection makes perception. The world you see is what you gave it, nothing more than that. But though it is no more than that, it is not less.” (T21.I.1-3)  About a year previous, I won a raffle, the prize being two Alaska Airline tickets to wherever they flew so all we needed was money for the hotel. (Thank you, Nancy!) We had many talks in the weeks before our trip, how fabulous it would be wandering the different sections of Manhattan, spending time at central park, riding the subways, and many more typical tourist activities. I was “projecting” good times only!

The Great Whisperer in Your Heart

by Rev. Michelle Rado, O.M.C.

Rev. Michelle RadoBelow despair there is a place untouched by human hands. This is the place where the voice for God lives within us and waits patiently for us to hear Its whisper.

A beacon of Love – this whisperer within us is constant, strong, unshakable, and eternal.  We do not hear it with our ears, but we feel it in our hearts.

While we often feel the whispers, we don’t always listen. We have been taught not to trust our inner knowing but rather that we should plot each step of our lives carefully and then resist any change that would challenge our well-laid plans as if we are here by ourselves doing this completely alone.

Releasing Resistance to Discover Peace

by Rev. Michael Graves, O.M.C.

Rev. Michael GravesDuring a recent Sunday ACIM teleconference study group (which I highly recommend) we were reading and discussing one of the lessons in the Workbook. As we read, we began sharing on a variety of different topics. You just never know what direction Holy Spirit will take a group of like-minded people. I think that is what I like most about these teleconference sessions. It is sort of like a weekly spiritual adventure.

As the session progressed, one of the participants asked a great question about the best way to access Spirit. Or as they put it, what are the “mechanics” of calling on Spirit when we need help. That question generated a lot of great shares and experiences on the subject. Then someone shared about how they had been “stripped” of almost all of their worldly sources of security and support they had relied on over the last thirty years. This lead to losing most of their material possessions and landed them in the home of a relative.

I Am Happy to Remember the Truth

by Rev. Peggy Rivera, O.M.C.

Rev. Peggy RiveraToday I feel so happy because I realize that no matter how often I get distracted and focus on things of this world, God is always waiting with loving arms for me to find my way back.

Recently I was ill and I decided to have a surgical procedure to relieve the symptoms I was experiencing. I prayed a lot about it because I was feeling fearful and was in a lot of pain. In my mind I tried to analyze why I had these particular symptoms and, in my haste, the ego gave me plenty of information.

I asked Holy Spirit for guidance and I talked it over with my mind healing partner. I believe when we ask we receive and we have to listen for whatever form that help comes from and make sure it is Holy Spirit and not our own ego thoughts.

At a Crossroad

by Rev. Kimberly Beck Visingarki, O.M.C.

Rev. Kimberly Beck VisingardiHave you ever stood at a crossroad in your life wondering, “How did I get here? What direction should I take?”

Sometimes the fork in the road is symbolic of taking the proverbial leap of faith and moving into a direction that looks like moving into the unknown.

There are research and studies that show over the course of our life we change our career a minimum of five times after we join the workforce. Sometimes those changes are a natural progression of changes from moving up the corporate ladder or longevity and experience leads to moving into leadership positions with more responsibility and higher income. While other times the change is moving into a completely new field.

A Prayer for All Solutions

by Rev. Joe Wolfe, O.M.C.

Rev. Joe WolfeDear God, I love You! You created me. I live in You and You in Me.

Only my own limited, unconscious guilt and belief in this ego, this false personality’s individual identity keeps me confused.
Thank You for everything You give me!

Grant me the power to live in your Presence, and to accept Your unconditional Love as I learn to forgive. Call me to remember that You are with me always, with every breath I take, in every movement, in all thoughts, actions and feelings.

When the Stars Align

by Rev. Lisa Windsor, O.M.C.

Rev. Lisa WindsorI bought a picture years ago from a local artist. On a dark blue background was a sketch of a woman’s head facing to the sky. Her mouth was open and sparkling stars were pouring outward and upward. I was in denial back then, I didn’t realize I had lost my voice. I quickly decided that the picture was for a friend and gave it away.

I was married for 11 years. During that time I played the role of the “good wife.” To me, the “good wife” kept quiet in order to keep the peace. She compromised her integrity out of devotion to her spouse. She suffered silently, so desperate to be “good.”

I Am Sustained by the Love of God

by Rev. Myron Jones, O.M.C.

Rev. Myron JonesAn excerpt from the journal I keep on my study of the Workbook Lessons

I am not going to list all the ways in which I try defend myself. Jesus has done that and I am fully aware of my own favorite methods. These are the words I want to contemplate this morning.

“Only the Love of God will protect you in all circumstances. It will lift you out of every trial, and raise you high above all the perceived dangers of this world into a climate of perfect peace and safety. It will transport you into a state of mind that nothing can threaten, nothing can disturb, and where nothing can intrude upon the eternal calm of the Son of God.”

A Brother, a Mentor, a Friend

by Rev. Michael Graves, O.M.C.

Rev. Michael GravesA couple of years ago, I began attending a Wednesday evening ACIM study group that a friend of mine had told me about which was being held in the home of a local couple. I had recently decided to begin studying the Course again, so I decided to give this group a try. For me, studying the Course with a group makes it much easier to understand and apply to my life.

Dennis and his wife were both elementary school teachers and long time students of the Course. They had been studying it as a couple for many, many years. Dennis had retired but his wife was still teaching. One of the first things I noticed when I arrived at their home was a big yard sign out in front that read: “A Course in Miracles” and it had two meeting times on it. There was a meeting Wednesdays at noon and then again at 6 p.m.!  Dennis also started a Saturday morning group at the local library and a Tuesday morning group at a nearby Starbucks!
