Receptive Quietness

Mary:
As I go to Spirit this morning, I am quietly reminded that there is no past, there is no future. There is only God right now. There is only Love eternally. I sit with that, absorbing the implications and applying it to my “dream life.”

What shows up for me as I do this is that I need not “worry” about anything. I truly am being carried through the dream story. The more I am willing to practice stepping back, going to peace and following Holy Spirit’s lead, the smoother the story becomes. The more I let go of control and trust in the Truth to lead me Home, the more simple my “life” becomes.

The old habit of trying to make something happen is gradually replaced with a gentle, receptive quietness. There is a growing feeling that all is well and that everyone is safe, no matter what crazy stories are being played out. There is a feeling of softness, gentleness and inner peace. I think this is what it means when A Course in Miracles tells us that, “Miracles come to the quiet mind.”

Robert:
As an extension of Love, I have one function — to give Love as It was given me. There is nothing else to do. In this world the reflection of this function is to forgive, which means to release the barriers to Love. Love extends automatically because of what It is.

The world was made as an attempt to limit Love and thus stands as a barrier against It. Forgiveness is simply the recognition that all seeming barriers to Love are not real.

To release these barriers built in my mind, I need help from beyond the seeming barriers. That help is the Holy Spirit, the one Self that I share with all my brothers. So while I believe I am in this world, my job is to turn over all interfering thoughts and welcome the gentle correction of what is not true. The resulting corrected perception is a forgiven world. The barriers against Love are dissolved and Love is allowed to be Itself.

This is my function today and every day.

Accept with Gratitude

Robert:
Believing in a world of separation automatically brings guilt with it because it includes the belief that we have denied God’s gift to us. Guilt always demands punishment. The effect of this demand is the experience of fear, loss, lack, anger and attack. Everything I perceive through the body’s eyes, everything I see through the belief in being separate, is the projected effect of the demand for punishment. This is why forgiveness is the lynchpin for release from the hell of the dream of separation.

There is no “out there.” This is great news because it means that everything is in my mind, and I can change my mind. I have absolute control over everything I experience. I cannot be a victim. The perception of victimhood is simply an attempt to avoid responsibility for my experience. All this does is delay my release from guilt.

Forgive, forgive, forgive. This means to me that I need to be constantly, moment by moment, offering all my perceptions to the Holy Spirit and asking His help to forgive them. I accept His help with gratitude whenever I release any thought to the Holy Spirit. The forgiveness is a done deal. Accepting with gratitude is how I receive it. I love you God. Thank you God.

Mary:
Today peace is my one goal. I choose to practice accepting peace, which means I am willing to take each thought that does not reflect peace to the Holy Spirit to be undone. I open my mind to Holy Spirit’s cleaning action. Holy Spirit knows what to do, I do not. Today I am willing to be open and receive the many blessings of the Holy Spirit.

Welcome Holy Spirit’s Vision

Mary:
Today I am willing to hold Holy Spirit’s Hand and follow, remembering I know nothing. I wait in quiet, knowing that what I ask for I will receive. I ask to see the truth. I ask to see through Holy Spirit’s eyes. That is all I want. That is all I need. As things come up, I hand them over for Holy Spirit’s transformed perception. This is how I rest in God today.

Holy Spirit to Robert:
Efforting is a sure sign that you are relying on your own “strength.” You are not letting yourself be carried but are attempting to control the images in your perception. This will never bring you peace.

Peace will come to your weary mind as you turn over your perceptions to the Holy Spirit and open to His interpretation. He will bring you back to the awareness of the present moment where you recognize that you are whole, perfect and safe in the Heart of God. As you remember this, you relax and welcome the Holy Spirit’s inspiration that guides you to the expression of Love in the world of perception.

Let yourself be carried today by the limitless Love of the Self you share with all.

Love Offers Everything I Need

Robert:
My heart is filled with gratitude. In every moment, Love offers me everything I need. In another way it could be said the Universe of Love is mine. When I experience problems or limitations of any kind, I am simply denying the gift. The gift is always there, always offered.

It is not my prerogative to determine what the gift is. But I am free to deny it and thus be unaware of Its presence. Problems of any kind are simply symptoms of denial of the gift of Love. The problem is not “out there.” The problem is the denial in my mind that needs to be forgiven. Nothing more, nothing less. There is no out there. All appearances are simply a reflection of what I am holding in my mind, which is either Love or the denial of Love.

The denial of Love has no effect whatsoever on Love. The denial of Love is simply a false idea that can be let go. It is a fantasy, an hallucination. Being a fantasy, it has no substance although belief in the fantasy can give it the appearance of solidity in my experience. It is belief in the fantasy that must be undone.

If I want to experience the ever present, eternal gift of Love, I must give up the fantasies. This is what forgiveness does. I do not need to know how it happens. I only need to do the practice of turning over every thought and perception of limitation to the loving Self God created and ask for help to let it go (forgive it). Love does the rest. My gratitude accepts the gift that is returned to me when I turn over my thoughts.

I am truly blessed today because I have another day to practice letting go.

Mary:
Today when I still my mind and go to Spirit, I am very gently reminded that I am being carried. I am reminded that my real Self rests in God and that nothing can really happen to change God’s one Son. I am reminded that my hallucinations of separation mean nothing and that all is well.

I am encouraged to relax deeply and let go of all concerns, all worries and put them into God’s Hands, where they belong. I am reminded to choose the peace of my true Self rather than the uncertainty and conflict found in the ego mind. This putting the welcome mat out for peace opens the door for true inspiration. This is how I awaken to the truth. This is all I want. This is all I need.

God’s Love Machine

Robert:
I’m just a Love machine. That’s what God created me to be. Love can only extend Love. I am Love’s extension and so all I can really do is extend Love.

I have made up myriad stories that seem to portray the “ability” to attack, to fear, to resent, to be weak and limited. But God did not create any of that. They’re just images fabricated out of nothing. They are not what I am. But belief in these images interferes with being the Love machine I was created to be. It does not stop the Love but it makes it invisible because I am choosing to see something else that is not really there.

When I believe in that something else, I cannot experience the joy of Love. That is why it is essential that I practice in every moment offering all my perceptions to the Holy Spirit and let Him clear away the dross of false images and return to me the Love that is really there.

This is my practice again today so that I can return to being God’s perpetual Love machine.

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Again practice letting yourself be carried. Pause and step back often. Let yourself become aware that you are resting in God. Let your true Self do all the “thinking.” Let everything else fall away. Let everything else be cleaned away. Relax and follow. The rest will be taken care of by the Light within you.

Gentle Correction

Robert:
One of my principle triggers into defensiveness is when I perceive that someone believes I have not done my job “correctly.” I slip quickly into wanting to be right. It is not a happy feeling. From that perspective I want to make that other person believe that I am right.

This is clearly an ego script and it never satisfies. It only serves to reinforce the idea of lack and guilt. Actions from this mindset not only reinforce guilt in my mind but also attempt to place guilt (blame) on the other. This keeps the ego firmly in charge.

Since this scenario is entirely in my mind, the only way to stop the guilt game is to change my mind. Here is where forgiveness comes to the rescue. But this forgiveness cannot be a magnanimous gesture in which I demonstrate my superiority by overlooking the dastardly deed. I must come to the full recognition that nothing really happened to justify guilt. For this I need the help of the Holy Spirit.

And so in every moment it is important for me to practice putting all my thoughts of guilt and shame and blame into the loving Hands of the Holy Spirit. He will transform those thoughts. He will teach me how to see past the images to the reality of only Love. I need His help for this and I must be willing to accept His help. Only then will I find peace.

Today is another day of practice in turning over my thoughts to the Holy Spirit to receive His gentle correction.

Mary:
If I really want to wake up from the dream of separation, I must be willing to let go of the idea that there is a past and a future. This only makes the dream of separation seem more real. This is not waking up, but reinforcing the dream of being separated from my Source.

How willing am I today to wake up to the Holy Spirit’s vision of the eternal present? How willing am I today to let go of thinking I know anything? How willing am I to receive Holy Spirit’s gentle correction to what I think I am seeing through the body’s eyes?

Both A Course in Miracles and Ho’oponopono teach me to let go of the past. This is forgiveness and forgiveness is my only function here. My prayer today is that I remember my purpose to hand over everything I experience in the dream of separation to the Holy Spirit to be undone. This what today is for.

Gratitude and Gentleness

Robert:
Every day my gratitude grows. There is so much to be grateful for: The whole universe of God’s Love. It’s always been there but I have not allowed myself to recognize It. Bringing the past to the present makes the Love of God imperceptible. Its been there all along, but I wasn’t aware of it.

My gratitude is growing through my practice of forgiveness that lets go of interference from the past. Forgiveness is a precious gift I give myself, with Holy Spirit’s help. My part of the gift is the willingness to turn over my thoughts of the past to the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit’s gift is the transformation and clearing of the erroneous beliefs and returning to me only the Love that is real.

I am grateful for the help provided by A Course in Miracles and the Spirit of Love in my mind that has gently, persistently, with a singleness of purpose, guided me to the recognition of the one Self we all share. I cannot say with certainty that as yet I have a full conscious experience of that one Self, but I can say with certainty that I experience the presence of Love more and more every day. Thank you God. I love you God.

Mary:
When I go to Spirit this morning, what comes is the word “gentleness,” and the feeling of gentleness comes with it. In this feeling of gentleness, there is a knowing that everything is alright. There is a feeling of patience and trust. There is a sense of caring and compassion.

In this gentle wordless communication from Spirit, there is a calling to come Home. The feeling that goes with this is that, as I respond to the call, I receive the gift of profound peace and the knowing that all our needs are met forever.

This message from Spirit goes beyond words. It carries with it the feeling of inner comfort, inner strength and certainty, and inner peace. It also carries with it the knowing that nothing else really matters than answering this call to return Home.

I know that today is about answering this call and giving my attention to letting myself be carried Home by the Holy Spirit.
