Accepting a Better Way

Today we practice consistently opening to Holy Spirit to accept a better way.

We open to Holy Spirit’s peace and calm… We open to Holy Spirit’s inspiration with everything we think or do… We open to seeing every brother as the Holy Spirit sees them — we see the face of Christ… We see that they are still as God created them and that nothing has happened to change God’s one Son…

We accept the fact that we are in truth an instrument of God’s peace. We accept a better way today.

Joining to See the Face of Christ in Every Brother

When brothers join in purpose in the world of fear, they stand already at the edge of the real world. Perhaps they still look back, and think they see an idol that they want. Yet has their path been surely set away from idols toward reality. For when they joined their hands it was Christ’s hand they took, and they will look on Him Whose hand they hold. The face of Christ is looked upon before the Father is remembered. For He must be unremembered till His Son has reached beyond forgiveness to the Love of God. Yet is the Love of Christ accepted first. And then will come the knowledge They are One. (A Course in Miracles, T-30.V.7)

When we look through the ego’s eyes, we are not shown the face of Christ in every brother. The ego’s goal is to project the unconscious guilt we feel within onto “others” we see as outside us. The world was made up to make ourselves look like the innocent victim of a guilty outer world. We feel very separate from “others.”

As we learn to choose a better way, we open to the Holy Spirit’s way of seeing every brother. The Holy Spirit helps us see past the body to the truth of the eternal Spirit of Love that lies behind the illusion of separation. The Holy Spirit sees the illusions of separate bodies but does not believe in them. He joyfully shows us the face of Christ that is eternally there in everyone. The Holy Spirit shows us innocence where we once saw guilt. He dissolves the fearful projections and helps us see the Truth that only Love is there. Our only purpose today is to join with Holy Spirit to see the face of Christ in every brother.

Forgiveness Is the Path to Heaven

“

Forgiveness is the only thing that stands for truth in the illusions of the world. It sees [illusions’] nothingness, and looks straight through the thousand forms in which they may appear. It looks on lies, but it is not deceived.

By its ability to overlook what is not there, [forgiveness] opens up the way to truth, which has been blocked by dreams of guilt. Now are you free to follow in the way your true forgiveness opens up to you. For if one brother has received this gift of you, the door is open to yourself. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.134.7:1-3;8:3-5)

All stress, worry, anxiety, uncertainty, unworthiness, depression, fear and guilt are the effect of judgment, of unforgiveness. Forgiveness is the antidote to all these disturbances in the world of separation. We forgive by turning over all our judgments to the Holy Spirit to let Him judge on our behalf and show us how He sees all the things that seem to disturb our peace. Because He knows the truth of what is real and not real, He looks past the illusions that seem so real to us.

If we bring our judgments to Him with open minds and hearts, willing to receive His loving vision, we let Him lead us on the path to Heaven. Each time we do this and accept His vision, we take another step toward Home, bringing our brothers with us. All our brothers are joined with us each time we let our minds be healed of a mistaken belief. Our healing is shared with all the world. Today we practice bringing all our judgments to the Holy Spirit in our minds and move forward along the path to Heaven.

Am I Willing to Remember the Truth Today?

You have been called by God, and you have answered. Would you now sacrifice that Call? Few have heard it as yet, and they can but turn to you. There is no other hope in all the world that they can trust. There is no other voice in all the world that echoes God’s. If you would sacrifice the truth, they stay in hell. And if they stay, you will remain with them. (A Course in Miracles, M-13.6:6-12)

We have one goal and that is to be of service to the Holy Spirit’s plan of awakening. The truth is we are joined as one in God. The truth is we share all of God’s Love with all, because we are all still as God created us.

Today… right now… we have another opportunity to awaken to the truth by opening to Holy Spirit’s purpose for us in this world. As we open to and accept Holy Spirit’s purpose, there is peace… there is certainty… there is Love. All this comes as we make opening to the truth our highest priority today. This is our true service to the awakening.

The Miracle of Healed Perception

All the seeming problems of the world are just disguises for the one problem of belief that separation from our Source is real. When we focus on the form, the pseudo problem, we are blind to recognition of the real problem, which is the belief that separation is real.

When we come to the full recognition that the underlying cause of every appearance of a problem is the belief in separation, we have taken a giant step toward release, or freedom. God have given us the one solution that neutralizes this false belief. So the problem has been solved because God has already given us the solution.

As we go through our day today, our practice is to remember that any seeming problem that we face is already solved. We need only step back from our focus on the appearance and open to the Holy Spirit to receive the reflection of the solution in the world. To be receptive we have to let go of trying to define what the problem is. With this openness, we clear the way for Holy Spirit’s inspiration. We clear the way for the miracle of healed perception.

We Serve God When We Accept God’s Peace

The peace of God is shining in you now, and from your heart extends around the world. It pauses to caress each living thing, and leaves a blessing with it that remains forever and forever. What it gives must be eternal. It removes all thoughts of the ephemeral and valueless. It brings renewal to all tired hearts, and lights all vision as it passes by. All of its gifts are given everyone, and everyone unites in giving thanks to you who give, and you who have received. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.188.3)

Accepting God’s peace plugs us in to God’s Thoughts. Accepting God’s peace unites us with our inner Teacher, the Holy Spirit. As we accept this Light within, it naturally and automatically extends to everyone because in God’s Light we are one.

Today we make it our highest priority to step back as frequently as possible and open our minds to accept God’s eternal gifts of peace and understanding. We open to the eternal Presence of God’s Love all through the day. We serve God when we accept God’s peace.

Accepting Holy Spirit’s Miracle of True Perception

A lesson is a miracle which God offers to me, in place of thoughts I made that hurt me. What I learn of Him becomes the way I am set free. And so I choose to learn His lessons and forget my own.

The Holy Spirit is my only Guide. He walks with me in love. And I give thanks to Him for showing me the way to go. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.213.1:2-4;215.1:2-4)

Today we accept Holy Spirit’s miracle of true perception. When we accept true perception, the Love we are joins with the Love in everyone and everything. The sense of differences and separation fades into the background. One once perceived as an enemy is joined with in Love and recognized as our one Self.

In this joining, we rest in peace and live in joy. Where Love is, there is nothing to fear. True perception shows us this. It brings us to the gates of Heaven, where we are welcomed Home. This is the gift that comes with accepting Holy Spirit’s true perception.
