Offering Peace Is Receiving Peace

Mary:
In our reading of A Course in Miracles this morning, this stood out to me:

To give is to receive. Today we will attempt to offer peace to everyone, and see how quickly peace returns to us. Light is tranquility, and in that peace is vision given us, and we can see. …To give and to receive are one in truth. I will receive what I am giving now. …To everyone I offer quietness. To everyone I offer peace of mind. To everyone I offer gentleness. (W-pI.108.7:3-5,8:2-3,6-8)

This is teaching me very clearly that, when I offer peace to everyone, I am receiving peace; when I offer gentleness to everyone, I am receiving gentleness. If I want to be happy today, my opportunity is to give peace and happiness to everyone I see or even think of. This is how I receive happiness. Oh happy day!

Robert:
I am grateful for the joy of peace. I am grateful for the comfort peace brings. I am grateful for the vision that peace welcomes, which looks past all images and shows me the Love that is everywhere. I am grateful for the core of peace that is the truth in me, ever present, waiting only upon my welcome. Today I choose to welcome peace.

Waves of Peace

Robert:
God’s peace and strength are ours. If we feel vulnerable to harm of any kind, we have forgotten that the strength of God is in us. The world is full of images that make harm seem real. But harm only seems real because we believe we are an image that is the denial of God’s strength. To feel God’s strength and know His safety, we must let go of (forgive) this false image. This is why forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door we have made against God’s Love and joy and peace.

Today I practice again bringing any and all disturbing thoughts to the Holy Spirit to let Him shine His kind and peaceful Light upon them. His vision shows me that only Love is real and helps me remember Who I am.

I will remind myself frequently today: “God’s Will and strength are mine. Harm is impossible.”

Mary:
Holy Spirit, I accept waves and waves of peace today… I take time out frequently today to accept your peace. As I open to accepting your peace, I help myself and I help the world. Peace is my one goal.

True Responsibility

Holy Spirit to Robert:
The ego believes in taking responsibility but its idea of responsibility is distorted. It believes it is responsible for making a world that satisfies its wishes. It also believes that to accept responsibility is to accept guilt. So it uses responsibility as a means for establishing the reality of sin. Being responsible for the making of illusions is being responsible for nothing in reality. So it could be called being irresponsible.

Your only real responsibility is to accept your Self as Love created you. This means accepting your function as Love’s extension, which is to extend the Love that you are. There is nothing else to do. To attempt to do or be anything else is irresponsible. Thus if you feel guilt in any way, you are choosing the irresponsibility of the ego. Accepting your true responsibility will only bring you the peace and happiness of the Love you share with God.

Today as you look on the world through the body’s eyes, join with Me and accept My vision that shows you the reality beyond all images. This is your responsibility as the Son of God. Joined together, we will see the Reality of Love everywhere. As you learn to trust My vision, you will know with certainty that you remain innocent, along with all your brothers. Share My vision today and remember Who you are.

Mary:
Today it is my job to accept Holy Spirit’s peace. From this place of peace, I will be most useful to Holy Spirit’s plan of awakening. This is my only responsibility.

Rest in the Changeless Mind of God

Robert:
I rest in God…. Here is my comfort and my safety…. I rest in God…. His changelessness is my rock…. I rest in God…. In Him is all my strength and my happiness. In Him is my Identity, my Self…. I rest in God…. In Him is my Life. I need nothing else, for there is nothing else…. I rest in God with all my brothers, who are one with me and Him…. As I rest in Him, I see only the Light of Love, for there is nothing else to see.

I rest in gratitude for all that Love has given me and that I am. I rest in God, knowing that Here I am Home.

Mary:
Today is a day of remembering that we are all safe at Home in Heaven. We are all safe in the changeless Mind of God. There is no need to fear. Only God is here.

Rest in God’s Peace in the Certainty of Now

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Today let yourself remember that you rest in God… Let yourself remember that you are Love’s Extension and that Love is all there is to see… Let any other thoughts just gently fall away… Allow simple uncomplicated Love to fill your mind and heal every false idea that shows up… Today is a day of resting in God’s peace.

Robert:
Yesterday, in a telephone conversation with Pathways of Light minister Rev. Barbara Allen, the idea came up that I am “clueless in the ego.” Since the ego knows nothing of reality, being the denial of it, the ego is absolutely clueless. To turn to the clueless ego for understanding and guidance is an exercise in futility. Help cannot be found where none exists.

Yesterday I was reminded not to plan for the future. Today I am reminded not to look for help from the ego. It has none to offer. Instead, I am reminded to take every concern and question to the Holy Spirit and hold my mind open to His all-seeing response. The point of certainty is in the timeless, eternal present. If I am thinking about what might happen, I have stepped out of the reality of now into the illusion of time. This cannot bring me peace, but only uncertainty.

I hold the Holy Spirit’s Hand today as my Anchor to help me stay in the certainty of now.

Dissolving Fear Thoughts

Robert:
It seems that right now I am particularly tempted to try to make plans for the future. Yet I know that all I really want is to follow Holy Spirit’s plan. I know that His plan will always bring me lasting happiness and peace. The antidote for this temptation is to be vigilant for peace and remind myself frequently through the day to place the future in God’s Hands. I am not responsible for making this world “right” according to my ideas of how it should look. My only responsibility is to fulfill my function — to join in Love and extend It. In peace I place the future in the Hands of God.

Holy Spirit to Mary:
There is only one Self… This means all perception of differences are unreal… This means the sight of Christ is all there is to see… This is your journey now… Practice allowing the Light of true vision to shine through the illusions of the world… This will bring you peace… Remember that you rest in the eternal peace of God today… As you practice this, it will dissolve all fear thoughts…

The Way to Happiness and Peace

Robert:
The way to happiness and peace is to let go of all images in the world. The images of the world are just forms without content and can never satisfy. Contentment can only come with acceptance of my true Self, the one Self we all share, the Son of God. The Son of God shares God’s completion. Discontent of any kind can only mean that I am denying my Source and my completion.

My experience is that the more I let go of value I have given forms in the world, the more content I feel. I feel more peaceful and happy. I am less easily disturbed by any event, circumstance or appearance of someone’s behavior. All that really matters is that I accept God’s gift of His completion. I do this by taking every perceived disturbance to the Holy Spirit and open my mind to His vision. He will show me the Light beyond the form. The form fades away in the Light of Love.

Today is another day of vigilance for peace, taking any disturbance to the Holy Spirit for His gentle correction. This is how I forgive or let go of false idols and accept the reality of my Self in God.

Mary:
Amen! Today is another day of practice stepping back and following Holy Spirit’s lead.
