Receive the Gift of Peace and Quiet Inner Joy

Robert:
It is impossible for the ego ever to be happy, because the ego is the denial of God. The Course tells us that God, being Love, is also happiness. If I want to be happy, I need to let go of the ego as my identity. I need to choose the Self that God created instead. This all points to a central idea I get from the Course: I need to choose Holy Spirit’s vision as my guide in every moment.

Today is another happy day of practice staying in peace and choosing the Holy Spirit’s guidance in all that I do. As I allow myself to be in peace, His guidance will be clear to me in each present moment. I rest in God today by stepping back and following Holy Spirit’s lead.

Mary:
This is my prayer today: Holy Spirit, I open my mind to Your healing Light… I am willing to rest in Your Love… I am willing to step back and receive Your inspiration… I am grateful for Your gift of peace and quiet inner joy. I give thanks.

The Path to Freedom

Holy Spirit to Robert:
While you seem to be in this world, it is easy to be tempted to believe that you need things and circumstances to be a certain way for your safety. Learn not to trust in your perception of the images your body presents to you. Practice bringing all your perceptions to Me and let Me show you the truth beyond the veil of separation these images present.

All things in this world serve a purpose. What purpose they serve is determined by the guide you choose. When you let Me guide you, their purpose will be to lead you and all your brothers to freedom from limitation and full acceptance of all that God has given you. Choose not for limitation. Wanting to have more than everything is actually choosing limitation, because you are asking for the impossible and thus denying what you have been given. You have already been given all that is real. There is nothing else to have.

As you let Me guide you in each present moment, I will lead you to the certainty of your safety and completion. You are already safe. You are complete. I will use everything in your dream to help you become aware of the truth of What you are. You need only come to Me in peace. Make no interpretation or decision on your own.

As you follow Me, you will learn that you are loved beyond anything this world appears to offer. You will learn that you are invulnerable. It is My job to use every circumstance and appearance on behalf of teaching you this and I cannot fail. Stay in a state of peace today with an open mind to receive My guidance and it will be indeed a blessed day.

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Let yourself remember the Light of God behind every story of individuality. Let your thoughts be washed clean of separation. Let Love’s oneness return to your mind today. Let yourself rest in the truth today that you are only Love and that everyone is only Love, along with you.

With Peace Comes Awareness of Safety

Holy Spirit to Robert:
The ego never feels safe. This is because it is built upon the belief in separation and the inevitable sense of loss and sacrifice that comes with it. Thus the ego is on a constant quest for safety, building myriad forms of defenses with the hope of finding some sense of security. Yet these forms are illusions made to protect against illusions of danger.

No matter how much the ego attempts to make illusions of protection, the underlying recognition that no illusion can have any real effect leaves the ego feeling unprotected and unsafe. Within the thought system of separation, the ego is correct in this evaluation of the effectiveness of its defenses. Yet the ego continues on its quest to seek but not find the safety it thinks it lacks.

As long as you identify with the ego as what you are, you will share its uncertainty and fear. The good news is you are not the ego. Seek not in the ego’s illusions where safety cannot be found. The Source of safety is within you and has not left you. Join with Me and together we will lift the veil that hides the truth in you. Together we will see that you remain in the changeless certainty of Love, protected by Its strength and safe in Its eternal changelessness.

Today focus on maintaining a state of peace. Here in peace is where we join. Here in peace I can help you remember What and Where you are.

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Let accepting the gift of peace be your highest priority today. Let all your doing flow from that. The beingness of peace is in God and therefore in you. Accept God’s gift of peace today. Accepting peace and extending peace is your only function. This is how you return to your Father.

Remembering What and Where I Am

Mary:
As I go into a place of quiet this morning, the question comes to me: “What am I and where am I in truth?” I know that my practice today is to return to this question as many times as possible today. I know the answer to this question is that I am the eternal Spirit of Love in the Mind of Love. This question helps me remember that the story I am experiencing is just part of the dream of separation and does not really exist. This remembering returns my mind to peace.

I know that everything I really need will show up as I need it. My job today is to let go and let God instead of making the stories of differences and separation real. This remembering brings peace to my mind. I once again place my trust in God instead of the ego.

To let my mind be healed today I will practice asking myself, “In truth, what am I and where am I?” And then let the Light of truth replace my belief in the dream of separation.

Robert:
I’m reminded again to let myself be carried. I do this by remembering to step back and return to peace, let go of opinions and preferences, and open to Holy Spirit’s inspiration. This is how I let every circumstance be a lesson of healing mistaken beliefs and opening to the reality of Love. Peace opens the door to inspiration.

Accepting God’s Lessons and Strength

Robert:
All things are lessons God would have me learn. At the core there is only one lesson God would have me learn: I remain as God created me. This lesson is only necessary because I have taught myself to believe that I am not as God created me. In every instant in this world I choose between two teachers. If I choose the ego, the lesson will reinforce the seeming reality of the world and my separate identity. If I choose God’s Teacher, the lesson will teach me that I remain as God created me — Love and nothing else. This lesson also teaches me that everyone is Love and that nothing but Love exists.

Fear and guilt inevitably come with the ego’s lessons. Peace and innocence inevitably return to my awareness with the Holy Spirit’s lessons. Today I will practice bringing every circumstance and perception to the Holy Spirit to learn the lesson He would teach me, for I would remember that I am still as God created me.

Mary:
Today my practice is to remember “God is the strength in which I trust.” If I trust in my own strength, I am reminded by A Course in Miracles that I have every reason to be fearful. “God is the strength in which I trust” brings me to a place of putting my trust where it belongs. This practice reminds me to return my mind to the truth of What I am and Where I am always. Returning to this again and again all through the day brings me to a place where all true inspiration lies.

Let Yourself Be Happy

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Let yourself remember today that you are Love’s Extension… As Love your function is to extend Love… Love is oneness. Love is. God is. There is nothing else. Love recognizes only Love. Love sees past dreams of separate bodies to the truth. Let yourself see the truth today. Let this be your practice. This is true forgiveness. This is what brings you happiness. Let yourself be happy by remembering the truth today. In this way, you become the Light of the world.

Robert:
My focus today is to align my seeing with the Holy Spirit’s vision. I will know who I am aligning with by the level of peace I feel. Aligning with the ego always carries with it a feeling of inadequacy, fear and underlying guilt. Aligning with the Holy Spirit brings happiness and peace. With the Holy Spirit I see Love everywhere. I choose to see with Holy Spirit today.

Let Yourself Be Carried

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Step back and let Me take over. Handover everything to Me. Let yourself be carried. Relax. Open to the Light of peace. Remember you are in Heaven now. Anything other than Heaven is dreams. Let simple, uncomplicated Love lead the way through your day. This is how to be truly helpful.

Holy Spirit to Robert:
Let yourself be carried. The ego is the wish to control, to usurp God’s Will and make a will of its own. When you follow the ego’s guidance, you will try to “control your destiny” motivated by fear and guilt. Yet this “destiny” is just a collection of illusions with no substance, no reality. You are not destined for anything. You are everything, for you have all that God is, and there is nothing else.

Let yourself be carried by being vigilant for peace. In peace you remember What you are and Where you are. You realize that you are not destined for greatness; you are the magnificence of God now. Relax in the certainty of your changeless Self. In the remembrance of this changelessness, the world perceived through the body’s eyes becomes benign, incapable of harm or change of any kind. Here is your happiness and peace.
