Unearthing and Healing Our Biggest Block to Love

Rev. Nouk Sanchez, O.M.C.

Rev. Nouk SanchezAs many of you know, Tomas, my soul buddy, left the body in December 2010. He left through what appeared as cancer of the body. Tomas ‘awakened’ prior to leaving the body. However he was very aware that he chose cancer as a means by which he could apply vigilant discipline to prioritize peace, in order to achieve only ONE goal — to awaken.

Messages from Spirit

Rev. Mary Manke, O.M.C.

Rev. Mary MankeSpirit: You are the Light of the world. You are Divine Light, right now, right where you are.

Dear Child, how little you see of Truth, how little you really comprehend. You need only ask, and it is given you. But still you do not ask, because you think that you will not like what you hear, or that you will be forced to disagree with your first choice.

ACIM Lessons

by Rev. Veronika Wilcox, O.M.C.

Rev. Veronika WilcoxI have worked with the ACIM lessons for seven years now. There have been times when I did them as thoroughly and as sincerely as I could, and there have been times when I didn’t touch them. Living with these lessons has been like a golden thread weaving itself through my life story.

The Holy Spirit’s GPS Knows the Way… Just Relax

by Rev. Ken Gorman, O.M.C.

Rev. Ken GormanAs the Course teaches, one of the biggest ways the ego keeps us trapped is through our own judgments or projections we place on the world, which is inherently neutral. Most of these judgments involve things I must be afraid of or reasons why I am guilty, not worthy and failing (and occasionally the arrogant flip side of the coin — why I deserve more/to win, am better than others, am not responsible, etc.). Forgiveness to me actually means working on/being at least a little willing to release these judgments (and the value I place on them) and letting something else entirely be shown to me by Holy Spirit.

On the Road to Forgiveness

Rev. Rebecca Brown, O.M.C.

Rev. Rebecca BrownAs I reflect upon my past, I can find countless things that I feel that I should or could have changed or done differently. For example, here I am in my 50’s working on a doctorate degree in psychology that my ego tells me I should have completed 30 years ago.

I hear the ego’s voice scolding me, ”If you had only done the right thing, you could have had a different life. You could have had a better job and a successful career and a lot less pain brought on by near poverty.”

Winning

by Rev. Georgeann Medved, O.M.C.

Rev. Georgeann Medved“For the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.” James 1:20

I have never won an argument! Even though the person I am arguing with screams at me, “I give up, you win!” My deep emotions and my burdened heart tell me this is definitely not a victory. The person I have pitted myself against and I have not been drawn together. In fact, we have emotionally and spiritually been driven further apart. When disagreements erupt, the interaction between the parties involved is less than ideal.

Welcome to the New Pathways of Light Management Team

by Rev. Ken Gorman, O.M.C.

Rev. Ken GormanLesson 108 is titled, ‘To give and receive are one in truth.’ For many of us, service to our community is the way that Holy Spirit chooses for us to experience this. When I was a resident at a spiritual center in London and was asked to join the management team as marketing director, I thought it was because of my unique skill sets, which was true to an extent. What I discovered was that the management positions within the community were as, or even more, valuable to the people providing them (me in this case) as they were to the community being served. It taught me that one of the main purposes of a spiritual community is to provide opportunities for service to its members wherever possible. These people would in turn allow the organization to grow and extend the connections deeper and more broadly across the entire community.

Developing Trust

by Rev. Larry Glenz, O.M.C.

Rev. Larry GlenzEverything that you see in the world challenges your trust in turning all your decisions over to Inner Guidance. We have great resistance to trusting and we need to recognize this before we can meet the all-important challenge. Every time we feel emotions that are in the category of “fear” thoughts, we can be certain we have dropped the hand of our Higher Power. There is someone or something that we haven’t forgiven.

What Is Forgiveness?

by Rev. Myron Jones, O.M.C.

Rev. Myron JonesI’ve been teaching a series of lessons on forgiveness on ACIM Gather. The last one I did was from the Workbook, “What is Forgiveness?” This section has helped me understand the Course’s definition of the word forgiveness, but more importantly, it has helped me practice forgiveness.

So how does the Course define forgiveness? It begins by telling us that forgiveness recognizes what you thought your brother did to you has not occurred. It has taken me a long time to accept this. At first it was completely unacceptable to me. Slowly over time as my willingness grew, I began to embrace it as my salvation.

Finding a Place Within Me to Receive God’s Grace

by Rev. Sharyn Zenz, O.M.C.

Rev. Sharyn ZenzOne of the gifts from God is His grace. He wants us to receive His grace so much and He is so very patient, just waiting for us to make a place for it within us. It is our job to weed out from within ourselves all the guilt, dishonesty, unworthiness, judgment, limitation, the need for suffering. The list goes on and on.

When we really get to the “root” and weed those things out of us, we make room for grace, God’s Love, kindness to ourselves and others, non-judgment, joining with others at the altar of God.

A Minister’s Journey

by Rev. Liz Swearsky, O.M.C.

Rev. Liz SwearskyI was recently ordained as a Pathways of Light minister. I wanted to share the highlight of my experience, the final day of the teleconference in which we were ordained, but let me begin by saying that I was a reluctant student.

One day, about 18 months ago, I was led to the Pathways of Light website, as I was interested in learning about their courses.  I have been a long time student of A Course in Miracles, but was thinking that it was time to expand. I thought that I would leisurely take a course and if felt so moved, to possibly finish my studies to become an ordained minister by my 50th birthday in 3 years.

The Holy Purpose of the Body

by Rev. Mary Gerard Lenihan, O.M.C.

Rev. Mary Gerard LenihanHow is the body seen through the ego’s eyes?

I see my body as the face of sin and death. I see my body as a home for parasitic thoughts of death and attack, robbing me of my sustenance. I see a fleshly casing and covering that is filled with sin, death and disease. My body is afraid of death, for this will be the demise of me. I will be wiped from existence as my body sickens and retreats into dust; for the dust too will vanish and there will be nothing left of me — the body telling me that I have never existed. My greatest fear comes upon me at death — the fear that I am not real. And if I am not real, then there must not be a God.

Understanding Forgiveness

by Rev. Mary Beth Ellis, O.M.C.

Rev. Mary Beth EllisForgiveness is probably the most important spiritual lesson for many reasons, one of which is that our lives depend on it.

To truly forgive we need to understand the why’s and how’s of how it works. As with any fix-it project, the most important factor, after the decision to repair something, is to use the right tools. Without the proper tools, all the determination in the world usually results in little change. We are fortunate to have these tools today. I wish I’d had them at 16. I wish I’d had them at 30 when I was blaming the world for my problems. I wish I’d used them yesterday when I felt slighted by one of God’s children, and condemned him in my mind.
