Seeing the Blessings Every Brother Offers

There is no end to all the peace and joy, and all the miracles that I will give, when I accept God’s Word. Why not today?

Why should I wait, my Father, for the joy You promised me? ²For You will keep Your Word You gave Your Son in exile. ³I am sure my treasure waits for me, and I need but reach out my hand to find it. ⁴Even now my fingers touch it. ⁵It is very close. ⁶I need not wait an instant more to be at peace forever. ⁷It is You I choose, and my Identity along with You. ⁸Your Son would be Himself, and know You as his Father and Creator, and his Love. God’s peace and joy are already in us. We only need to take down the wall we have built that hides it from our awareness. This is what forgiveness does.

We dedicate today to letting the Holy Spirit judge all things on our behalf. He will show the reality of Love’s oneness beyond the illusions of differences we see in the world. We will see the blessings every brother offers us as we forgive the past and see him as he is in the present moment.

Letting Love Extend from Within

My holiness blesses the world.

This idea contains the first glimmerings of your true function in the world, or why you are here. ²Your purpose is to see the world through your own holiness. ³Thus are you and the world blessed together. ⁴No one loses; nothing is taken away from anyone; everyone gains through your holy vision. ⁵It signifies the end of sacrifice because it offers everyone his full due. ⁶And he is entitled to everything because it is his birthright as a Son of God.

Yet is his wholeness restored to his awareness through your vision. ⁶Your holiness blesses him by asking nothing of him. ⁷Those who see themselves as whole make no demands.

Your holiness is the salvation of the world. ²It lets you teach the world that it is one with you, not by preaching to it, not by telling it anything, but merely by your quiet recognition that in your holiness are all things blessed along with you.

…close your eyes and apply the idea to any person who occurs to you, using his name and saying:

⁶My holiness blesses you, [name].

If we are not experiencing happiness and peace of mind, we are not allowing the Love we are to bless the world. It is a sign it is time to pause and welcome Love into our mind; ask Love’s vision to show us the real world of Love in which we live. As we accept the Love we are, we see a world blessed by Love’s holiness and we remember our own holiness as God’s Son.

Today we practice letting Love be expressed through us in the world.

Remembering Our Home in Love

²Reality is never frightening. ³It is impossible that it could upset me. ⁴Reality brings only perfect peace. ⁵When I am upset, it is always because I have replaced reality with illusions I made up. ⁶The illusions are upsetting because I have given them reality, and thus regard reality as an illusion. ⁷Nothing in God’s creation is affected in any way by this confusion of mine. ⁸I am always upset by nothing.

²I see only my own thoughts, and my mind is preoccupied with the past. ³What, then, can I see as it is? ⁴Let me remember that I look on the past to prevent the present from dawning on my mind. ⁵Let me understand that I am trying to use time against God. ⁶Let me learn to give the past away, realizing that in so doing I am giving up nothing. The ego would be lost without the past. It uses the past to give meaning to its perceptions of illusions that seem to be in the present. While we identify with the ego, our focus on the past makes the present unknown to us.

The limitless joy and peace of the present are unknown to us as long as we bring past thoughts with us. This is why forgiveness is our function in this world. Forgiveness dismisses thoughts of the past, allowing the Light of the present moment to dawn upon our mind. The ego’s house is closed off from Reality. Its doors and shutters are closed to protect itself from the Love it perceives as enemy.

The oneness of Love and the divisiveness of the ego cannot coexist. As Light dispels darkness, Love dispels the fear-based thoughts of the ego. Today we welcome present Love into our mind. In the joyous present, we join with the truth in every brother and remember our real Home in God.

Recognizing That We Live in Love

³Nothing in madness is dependable. ⁴It holds out no safety and no hope. ⁵But such a world is not real. ⁶I have given it the illusion of reality, and have suffered from my belief in it. ⁷Now I choose to withdraw this belief, and place my trust in reality. ⁸In choosing this, I will escape all the effects of the world of fear, because I am acknowledging that it does not exist.”

²How can a meaningless world exist if God did not create it? ³He is the Source of all meaning, and everything that is real is in His Mind. ⁴It is in my mind too, because He created it with me. ⁵Why should I continue to suffer from the effects of my own insane thoughts, when the perfection of creation is my home? ⁶Let me remember the power of my decision, and recognize where I really abide. Our Home is perfect Love. Happiness and peace are our natural condition. Anything that seems to disturb this condition must be an hallucination. We can let illusions go as we learn to rely on the Holy Spirit’s vision. It shows us the reality of Love everywhere. As we accept It, the illusions that have disturbed our peace of mind fade into the nothingness from which they came.

Today we affirm that we rest in the Love of God. We are grateful that we have an inner Teacher to lead us to the full recognition that this is so.

We Are Deserving of Unlimited Love

⁶Love is not little and love dwells in you, for you are host to Him. ⁷Before the greatness that lives in you, your poor appreciation of yourself and all the little offerings you give slip into nothingness.

Holy child of God, when will you learn that only holiness can content you and give you peace? ²Remember that you learn not for yourself alone, no more than I did. ³It is because I learned for you that you can learn of me. ⁴I would but teach you what is yours, so that together we can replace the shabby littleness that binds the host of God to guilt and weakness with the glad awareness of the glory that is in him. ⁵My birth in you is your awakening to grandeur. ⁶Welcome me not into a manger, but into the altar to holiness, where holiness abides in perfect peace. ⁷My Kingdom is not of this world because it is in you. ⁸And you are of your Father. ⁹Let us join in honoring you, who must remain forever beyond littleness.

Call forth in everyone only the remembrance of God, and of the Heaven that is in him. ²For where you would have your brother be, there will you think you are. ³Hear not his appeal to hell and littleness, but only his call for Heaven and greatness. Our oneness in the Love of God is our holiness. Forgiveness lets us see the holiness in our brothers and ourselves. Our judgments blind us to the truth in everyone, including ourselves. To find our true and lasting happiness, we need to dismiss the ego as our judge. By dismissing it we make way for the Holy Spirit to judge all things on our behalf.

The Holy Spirit knows the truth about us, God’s Son. So His judgments are very simple. He dismisses the unreal and affirms the reality of Love’s oneness. The Holy Spirit knows we are worthy of all of God’s Love without limit. Today we choose to accept His judgments, remembering that His verdict is always of our innocence and worthiness of His unlimited Love.

God Sees Us as Holy as Himself

¹¹Holy are you, eternal, free and whole, at peace forever in the Heart of God. ¹²Where is the world, and where is sorrow now?

Is this your judgment on yourself, teacher of God? ²Do you believe that this is wholly true? ³No; not yet, not yet. ⁴But this is still your goal; why you are here. ⁵It is your function to prepare yourself to hear this Judgment and to recognize that it is true. ⁶One instant of complete belief in this, and you will go beyond belief to Certainty. ⁷One instant out of time can bring time’s end. ⁸Judge not, for you but judge yourself, and thus delay this Final Judgment. ⁹What is your judgment of the world, teacher of God? ¹⁰Have you yet learned to stand aside and hear the Voice of Judgment in yourself? ¹¹Or do you still attempt to take His role from Him? ¹²Learn to be quiet, for His Voice is heard in stillness. ¹³And His Judgment comes to all who stand aside in quiet listening, and wait for Him.

⁶There is no deceit in God. ⁷His promises are sure. ⁸Only remember that. ⁹His promises have guaranteed His Judgment, and His alone, will be accepted in the end. ¹⁰It is your function to make that end be soon. ¹¹It is your function to hold it to your heart, and offer it to all the world to keep it safe. God created His Son, our true Self, as an extension of His Love. Thus all that God is, we are in truth. He places no limits nor exclusions on what He Loves. He knows His Son as He knows Himself.  His gift of Himself is guaranteed for eternity.

This is our inheritance. It cannot change nor be lost. But we can deny it and imagine a dream in which Love is hidden from our awareness. We judge ourselves as separate from His Love and this judgment has cost us awareness of our Life in Love.

Today we welcome the Holy Spirit’s help to let go of our judgments and let the Light of God’s Love fill our mind. His Light brings with it happiness and peace. Our only meaningful function is to let go of our barriers to Love and accept His Judgment that we remain perfect Love, now and forever.

Forgiving Our Grievances

Let me recognize the problem so it can be solved.

²Let me realize today that the problem is always some form of grievance that I would cherish. ³Let me also understand that the solution is always a miracle with which I let the grievance be replaced. ⁴Today I would remember the simplicity of salvation by reinforcing the lesson that there is one problem and one solution. ⁵The problem is a grievance; the solution is a miracle. ⁶And I invite the solution to come to me through my forgiveness of the grievance, and my welcome of the miracle that takes its place.

“Specific applications of this idea might be in these forms:

²This presents a problem to me which I would have resolved.
³The miracle behind this grievance will resolve it for me.
⁴The answer to this problem is the miracle that it conceals. (A Course in Miracles, W-90.1:1–2:4. See also ACIM Lesson 90 Insights.)

All our judgments are based on grievances. We perceive something in our world that we want changed. But changing what seems to happen in the outside world does not solve the problem. It may seem to help, but the problem will reappear in some form until the problem is resolved at its source.

At its core, there is only one problem. It is a grievance against God for not granting our wish for specialness. God gives all of His Love equally to all. By accepting this fact, we awaken from the dream where differences seem to create conflict in our lives.

Today we ask the Holy Spirit to help us recognize our grievances and let Him heal our unforgiveness. With His help, we will see that we have all of His Love, along with everyone. We will find peace in the oneness of Love.
