Being a Conduit of God’s Love

Your peace is with me, Father. I am safe.

Your peace surrounds me, Father. ²Where I go, Your peace goes there with me. ³It sheds its light on everyone I meet. ⁴I bring it to the desolate and lonely and afraid. ⁵I give Your peace to those who suffer pain, or grieve for loss, or think they are bereft of hope and happiness. ⁶Send them to me, my Father. ⁷Let me bring Your peace with me. ⁸For I would save Your Son, as is Your Will, that I may come to recognize my Self.

And so we go in peace. ²To all the world we give the message that we have received. ³And thus we come to hear the Voice for God, Who speaks to us as we relate His Word; Whose Love we recognize because we share the Word that He has given unto us. We bring peace to the world by forgiving our misperceptions, our judgments. We pause to step back from our worldly activities to settle into the peace within. Here is where God’s Word speaks to us, telling us of our innocence. He reminds us that we are loved without limit. He loves us unconditionally as His Son.

When we accept His gift of peace, we become a conduit of His peace and Love to every brother. In peace we see past appearances to the Love that is the truth in everyone, everywhere. And we give thanks.

Dismantling Our Barriers to Love

Let me remember what my purpose is.

If I forget my goal I can be but confused, unsure of what I am, and thus conflicted in my actions. ²No one can serve contradicting goals and serve them well. ³Nor can he function without deep distress and great depression. ⁴Let us therefore be determined to remember what we want today, that we may unify our thoughts and actions meaningfully, and achieve only what God would have us do this day.

Father, forgiveness is Your chosen means for our salvation. ²Let us not forget today that we can have no will but Yours. ³And thus our purpose must be Yours as well, if we would reach the peace You will for us. (A Course in Miracles, W-257. See also ACIM Lesson 257 Insights.)

God’s Will is to be Love, eternally extending without limit. As His Son, we share that same Will. Yet when we accept the ego’s goals, we deny our true Will. While we dream the ego’s dream, our only meaningful purpose is to forgive the ego’s barriers to Love. As we forgive our wish for specialness and separation, we open the way for God’s Will to be expressed through us. We let Love flow.

Thus in this world, our purpose is forgiveness, which returns us to unity with God’s Will to be Love. We accept the Holy Spirit’s help to dismantle the walls ego has built and be the Love that is our Nature.

Claiming Our Identity as Love

I feel the Love of God within me now.

²The Love of God is what created me. ³The Love of God is everything I am. ⁴The Love of God proclaimed me as His Son. ⁵The Love of God within me sets me free.”

I choose the joy of God instead of pain.

²Pain is my own idea. ³It is not a Thought of God, but one I thought apart from Him and from His Will. ⁴His Will is joy, and only joy for His beloved Son. ⁵And that I choose, instead of what I made.

⁶I am not a body. ⁷I am free.

To the ego, judgment is necessary for survival. Judgment affirms that separation is real. Without it, the ego would simply cease to seem to exist. The ego’s judgments are all based on illusions and misperceptions. Perceptions begin with the idea that something external exists to be observed. This further affirms the “reality” of separation.

The Love that is our true Identity sees nothing external. It knows Its oneness with all that is real. In this certainty is perfect peace. There is nothing that exists to disturb its peace. Today we are reminded to claim our true Identity by accepting that we are Love and nothing else.

Accepting Our Safety in God’s Love

God speaks to us. ²Shall we not speak to Him? ³He is not distant. ⁴He makes no attempt to hide from us. ⁵We try to hide from Him, and suffer from deception. ⁶He remains entirely accessible.

God loves His Son. ²Request Him now to give the means by which this world will disappear, and vision first will come, with knowledge but an instant later. ³For in grace you see a light that covers all the world in love, and watch fear disappear from every face as hearts rise up and claim the light as theirs. ⁴What now remains that Heaven be delayed an instant longer? ⁵What is still undone when your forgiveness rests on everything?

³We acknowledge our mistakes, but He to Whom all error is unknown is yet the One Who answers our mistakes by giving us the means to lay them down, and rise to Him in gratitude and love. (A Course in Miracles, W-168.1:1-6;4;5:3. See also ACIM Lesson 168 Insights.)

The ego tells us that we are unloved and unlovable. It is a denial of the immutable truth that God loves us, His Son. This Love is eternal and unlimited. He has given us the means to dismiss the ego’s lies. His Voice is ever present, offering us Christ’s vision to see past the ego’s subterfuge and recognize we live in the eternity of Love.

Today we remind ourselves frequently to pause and welcome the lessons of His Voice. He teaches us that we are loved and wholly lovable. We are safe in Heaven now.

We Are Endowed with God’s Love

Today’s idea [I am spirit] identifies you with your one Self. ²It accepts no split identity, nor tries to weave opposing factors into unity. ³It simply states the truth. ⁴Practice this truth today as often as you can, for it will bring your mind from conflict to the quiet fields of peace.

²You are the spirit lovingly endowed with all your Father’s Love and peace and joy. ³You are the spirit which completes Himself, and shares His function as Creator. ⁴He is with you always, as you are with Him.

³He will offer all His strength to every little effort that you make. ⁴Give Him the minutes which He needs today, to help you understand with Him you are the spirit that abides in Him, and that calls through His Voice to every living thing; offers His sight to everyone who asks; replaces error with the simple truth.

²Spirit am I, a holy Son of God, free of all limits, safe and healed and whole, free to forgive, and free to save the world.

Today let us accept our endowment. We have been given all of God’s peace, joy and Love. We accept our endowment by extending it to all. By this acceptance, we bring blessing to the world. We see the truth in our brothers, and overlook the appearances in the world that are not true.

This is our sole purpose in this world. It is the way we remember that we are at Home in Heaven now.

How to Have a Happy Day

The Holy Spirit, ever practical in His wisdom, accepts your dreams and uses them as means for waking. ²You would have used them to remain asleep. ³I said before that the first change, before dreams disappear, is that your dreams of fear are changed to happy dreams. ⁴That is what the Holy Spirit does in the special relationship. ⁵He does not destroy it, nor snatch it away from you. ⁶But He does use it differently, as a help to make His purpose real to you. ⁷The special relationship will remain, not as a source of pain and guilt, but as a source of joy and freedom. ⁸It will not be for you alone, for therein lay its misery. ⁹As its unholiness kept it a thing apart, its holiness will become an offering to everyone.

Your special relationship will be a means for undoing guilt in everyone blessed through your holy relationship. ²It will be a happy dream, and one which you will share with all who come within your sight. (A Course in Miracles, T-18.II.6:1–7:2. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)

Our dreams become happier as we let go of our judgments. Every judgment denies the Love that is the source of all joy. Today we can choose to let Love shine Its Light on all that we perceive. It will dispel the dark thoughts of separation, fear and guilt. It will reveal the Love that is present everywhere. The Love we are will joyfully join with the Love that is everywhere. We will remember that we are Love and nothing else. With this choice, we will have a happy day.

Choosing the Guide to Truth

⁶Pursuit of the imagined leads to death because it is the search for nothingness, and while you seek for life you ask for death. ⁷You look for safety and security, while in your heart you pray for danger and protection for the little dream you made.

Yet searching is inevitable here. ²For this you came, and you will surely do the thing you came for. ³But the world can not dictate the goal for which you search, unless you give it power to do so.

Be glad that search you must. ²Be glad as well to learn you search for Heaven, and must find the goal you really want. ³No one can fail to want this goal and reach it in the end.

No one remains in hell, for no one can abandon his Creator, nor affect His perfect, timeless and unchanging Love. ²You will find Heaven. ³Everything you seek but this will fall away. ⁴Yet not because it has been taken from you. ⁵It will go because you do not want it. ⁶You will reach the goal you really want as certainly as God created you in sinlessness. If we follow the ego’s directions, we are set on meaningless pursuits. The best the ego can offer is temporary illusions that will not last because they are not real. We may experience temporary satisfaction, but the ego will soon send us on another search to keep us preoccupied so we do not question its guidance.

But we can follow another Guide. The Holy Spirit is in our mind ready to lead us to the eternal truth. As we follow His guidance, we will remember our unbroken connection with our Creator. We will remember the Love that unifies us with our Father and every brother. This is the search we will inevitably choose because it is the only one that satisfies.
