Remembering the Eternal Love We Are

There is no need for help to enter Heaven for you have never left. ²But there is need for help beyond yourself as you are circumscribed by false beliefs of your Identity, which God alone established in reality. ³Helpers are given you in many forms, although upon the altar they are one. ⁴Beyond each one there is a Thought of God, and this will never change.

The name of Jesus is the name of one who was a man but saw the face of Christ in all his brothers and remembered God. ²So he became identified with Christ, a man no longer, but at one with God. ³The man was an illusion, for he seemed to be a separate being, walking by himself, within a body that appeared to hold his self from Self, as all illusions do. ⁴Yet who can save unless he sees illusions and then identifies them as what they are? ⁵Jesus remains a Savior because he saw the false without accepting it as true.

⁸Yet still it is his lesson most of all that he would have you learn, and it is this:

⁹There is no death because the Son of God is like his Father. ¹⁰Nothing you can do can change Eternal Love. ¹¹Forget your dreams of sin and guilt, and come with me instead to share the resurrection of God’s Son. ¹²And bring with you all those whom He has sent to you to care for as I care for you. (A Course in Miracles, C-5.1:1-4;2:1-5;6:8-12)

We cannot change eternal Love. We cannot change the Self that eternal Love created as Its extension. We remain as Love created us.

This is the one lesson we must learn to awaken from dreams of loss and death. The idea of loss manifests in myriad ways in this dream world. But we can learn to recognize them as illusions. This is our vocation in this dream.

Jesus was an example of how to be in this dream but not believe it is real. The Christ he accepted in his mind is with us also. As we accept Christ vision, we learn to look past illusions of the dream and remember the Love we are. As we remember this, we see that Love in everyone and every thing. The Light of Love fills our mind and we carry that Light into the world to share It with every brother. Together we awaken in the Light.

Accepting the Love We Were Created to Be

Your holiness reverses all the laws of the world. ²It is beyond every restriction of time, space, distance and limits of any kind. ³Your holiness is totally unlimited in its power because it establishes you as a Son of God, at one with the Mind of his Creator.

Through your holiness the power of God is made manifest. ²Through your holiness the power of God is made available. ³And there is nothing the power of God cannot do. ⁴Your holiness, then, can remove all pain, can end all sorrow, and can solve all problems. ⁵It can do so in connection with yourself and with anyone else. ⁶It is equal in its power to help anyone because it is equal in its power to save anyone.

If you are holy, so is everything God created. ²You are holy because all things He created are holy.

…search your mind for any sense of loss or unhappiness of any kind as you see it. …

The power of God is in us all, because He gave all of Himself to His Son. And we are His Son. The ego wants us to believe that we are anything but holy. It denies our holiness because it denies the oneness of God’s Love. This denial leaves us feeling alone and vulnerable.

This exercise helps us release our belief that we are separate. It reinforces our awareness that we remain as God created us, wholly loving, lovable and loved. There is no greater Love than God’s, and it is ours now. As we accept this Reality, we free ourselves and our brothers to be the Love we are.

Joining in the Eternal Extension of Love

The holy Christ is born in me today.

Watch with me, angels, watch with me today. ²Let all God’s holy Thoughts surround me, and be still with me while Heaven’s Son is born. ³Let earthly sounds be quiet, and the sights to which I am accustomed disappear. ⁴Let Christ be welcomed where He is at home. ⁵And let Him hear the sounds He understands, and see but sights that show His Father’s Love. ⁶Let Him no longer be a stranger here, for He is born again in me today.

Your Son is welcome, Father. ²He has come to save me from the evil [separate, loveless] self I made. ³He is the Self that You have given me. ⁴He is but what I really am in truth. ⁵He is the Son You love above all things. ⁶He is my Self as You created me. ⁷It is not Christ that can be crucified. ⁸Safe in Your Arms let me receive Your Son. The Christ is God’s one Son, the extension of His Love. God sees us all as His one Son, united in His eternal Love. This is our true Self. As we accept God’s gift of all of His Love, we naturally extend His Love without limit.

Christ is born in us today as we let His Love extend freely to us to all. It is our limitless extension of Love that unites us with our Father and every brother. Every time we forgive a mistaken limiting belief, we open our mind to the rebirth of our Identity as Christ, the Son of God.

Today we celebrate God’s Love by joining in Its eternal extension. We are blessed as we bless the world with the Love we have been given without limit.

Finding Our Safety and Happiness

All that is ever cherished as a hidden belief, to be defended though unrecognized, is faith in specialness. ²This takes many forms, but always clashes with the reality of God’s creation and with the grandeur that He gave His Son. ³What else could justify attack? ⁴For who could hate someone whose Self is his, and Whom he knows? ⁵Only the special could have enemies, for they are different and not the same. ⁶And difference of any kind imposes orders of reality, and a need to judge that cannot be escaped.

Specialness is the great dictator of the wrong decisions. ²Here is the grand illusion of what you are and what your brother is. ³And here is what must make the body dear and worth preserving.

Your brother is your friend because his Father created him like you. ²There is no difference. ³You have been given to your brother that love might be extended, not cut off from him. ⁴What you keep is lost to you. ⁵God gave you and your brother Himself, and to remember this is now the only purpose that you share. ⁶And so it is the only one you have.

Our faith in specialness is what makes appearances appear different and real. In the oneness of Love, there can be no differences. Thus our faith in specialness makes us unaware of the Love that is our true Identity. Awareness of differences demands judgment.

When we believe we are a body we appear to be in a world of differences. The survival of the body depends on learning to judge. Every day is spent making decisions about what is safe and good, or dangerous or evil. This maintains the seeming reality of our world.

The means to return to awareness of Love as our Home is to relinquish all our judgments. When we offer them to the Holy Spirit, He will help us see beyond appearances to the eternal Presence of Love. In this Love we find our Self and every brother at one. We will find our safety and happiness. United in Love, we are God’s one Son.

Today we ask the Holy Spirit to judge all things on our behalf, for we would remember Love as our Reality.

Accepting the Love We Are

“I rest in God.” ²Completely undismayed, this thought will carry you through storms and strife, past misery and pain, past loss and death, and onward to the certainty of God. ³There is no suffering it cannot heal. ⁴There is no problem that it cannot solve. ⁵And no appearance but will turn to truth before the eyes of you who rest in God.

This is the day of peace. ²You rest in God, and while the world is torn by winds of hate your rest remains completely undisturbed. ³Yours is the rest of truth. ⁴Appearances cannot intrude on you. ⁵You call to all to join you in your rest, and they will hear and come to you because you rest in God. ⁶They will not hear another voice than yours because you gave your voice to God, and now you rest in Him and let Him speak through you.

In Him you have no cares and no concerns, no burdens, no anxiety, no pain, no fear of future and no past regrets. ²In timelessness you rest, while time goes by without its touch upon you, for your rest can never change in any way at all. Our true Self rests in God, for It has never left the Home we share in God. As we affirm this thought, our awareness of the peace and happiness of our true Home is strengthened.

Allow this thought to settle in your mind. It brings with it the certainty of God. The outside world steps back in your awareness. God’s Love brightens your world as you release the dead thoughts that have denied the eternal Love we are.

In truth, we have never left our Home in Love. This thought bears repeating many times throughout the day. It reminds us of an eternal fact. With this thought, we accept the Self God created as His Son.

Following the Advisor Who Leads to Love

You see what you expect, and you expect what you invite. ²Your perception is the result of your invitation, coming to you as you sent for it. …⁶Two ways of looking at the world are in your mind, and your perception will reflect the guidance you have chosen.

When you want only love you will see nothing else. ²The contradictory nature of the witnesses you perceive is merely the reflection of your conflicting invitations. ³You have looked upon your mind and accepted opposition there, having sought it there. ⁴But do not then believe that the witnesses for opposition are true, for they attest only to your decision about reality, returning to you the messages you gave them. ⁵Love, too, is recognized by its messengers. ⁶If you make love manifest, its messengers will come to you because you invited them.

Everyone in this world is seeking for Love. We are seeking for our true Identity. If we look to the ego to guide us to Love, it will only lead us to empty substitutes which do not satisfy.

We have another Advisor in our mind Who will lead us to our true Identity. It always shows us the Reality of Love. In the radiance of that Love, the ego’s substitutes fade in their appeal. We want the Love of God because we want to remember our Identity. They are one and the same.

As we choose the Holy Spirit as our Interpreter for all our perceptions, we will awaken to the Love we seek. We choose this Interpreter today, for we would be happy and at peace.

Releasing the Wish for Separation

The happy dreams the Holy Spirit brings are different from the dreaming of the world, where one can merely dream he is awake. ²The dreams forgiveness lets the mind perceive do not induce another form of sleep, so that the dreamer dreams another dream. ³His happy dreams are heralds of the dawn of truth upon the mind. ⁴They lead from sleep to gentle waking, so that dreams are gone. ⁵And thus they cure for all eternity.

Atonement heals with certainty, and cures all sickness. ²For the mind which understands that sickness can be nothing but a dream is not deceived by forms the dream may take. ³Sickness where guilt is absent cannot come, for it is but another form of guilt. ⁴Atonement does not heal the sick, for that is not a cure. ⁵It takes away the guilt that makes the sickness possible. ⁶And that is cure indeed. ⁷For sickness now is gone, with nothing left to which it can return.

²We will be still and listen for the Voice of healing, which will cure all ills as one, restoring saneness to the Son of God. ³No voice but this can cure. ⁴Today we hear a single Voice which speaks to us of truth, where all illusions end, and peace returns to the eternal, quiet home of God. The Holy Spirit sees all forms of sickness as the same. They are just different forms of the ego thought of separation. They are equally unreal, for only Love is real. Love has no form.

When we listen to the Voice for God, It will always guide us to recognition of Love’s Reality, beyond the ego dreams of form. The Holy Spirit leads us to forgiving dreams in which we have released our loyalty to the wish for separation.

As we accept His lead, we find the peace and joy of God restored to our holy mind. We awaken to the Love we are.
