Walking Through the Day with Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit, guide my seeing today that I may see the innocence and unity that You see…

Guide my words today, that they may be expressions of Love and forgiveness…

Guide my doing, that I may release barriers to Love and be Love’s extension…

Hold my hand, that I may know Your strength as we journey together on the path of awakening and returning Home…

Awakening from the Dream

The miracle does not awaken you, but merely shows you who the dreamer is. It teaches you there is a choice of dreams while you are still asleep, depending on the purpose of your dreaming. Do you wish for dreams of healing, or for dreams of death? A dream is like a memory in that it pictures what you wanted shown to you.

This world is full of miracles. They stand in shining silence next to every dream of pain and suffering, of sin and guilt. [Miracles] are the dream’s alternative, the choice to be the dreamer, rather than deny the active role in making up the dream. They are the glad effects of taking back the consequence of sickness to its cause. The body is released because the mind acknowledges “this is not done to me, but I am doing this.” And thus the mind is free to make another choice instead. Beginning here, salvation will proceed to change the course of every step in the descent to separation, until all the steps have been retraced, the ladder gone, and all the dreaming of the world undone. Central to freeing ourselves from the dream of separation, limitation and loss is to recognize and accept that we are the dreamer of the dream. All the things we experience in the dream are there because of our wish to be separate and special. Once we have accepted that the experience is caused by our own wishes and not being done to us by some unknown cause, we are empowered to change our experience in the dream.

Our dreams will change to happy dreams when we choose to align our minds with the Holy Spirit as our Guide. The Holy Spirit will always lead us back to the acceptance of the Love we are. As we accept this, we learn to recognize the Love that is beyond every form in the world. We learn to recognize our oneness in Love. With Holy Spirit’s help, we can see the innocence that is in everyone, including ourselves. This is how we welcome the miracles (true perception) that always surround us. This is how we move up the ladder and return to our Home in Heaven.

We Decide for Freedom Today

Each day, each hour and minute, even each second, you are deciding between the crucifixion and the resurrection; between the ego and the Holy Spirit. The ego is the choice for guilt; the Holy Spirit the choice for guiltlessness. The power of decision is all that is yours. What you can decide between is fixed, because there are no alternatives except truth and illusion. And there is no overlap between them, because they are opposites which cannot be reconciled and cannot both be true. You are guilty or guiltless, bound or free, unhappy or happy. Today we choose to practice bringing ourselves from the bondage and limitation of the ego to the freedom and peace of the Holy Spirit… Today we practice following the guidance of the Holy Spirit through quiet listening… We are open and receptive to Holy Spirit’s lead… We allow in God’s gifts of peace, happiness and joy… We let our mind be returned from fear to Love… Our freedom is worth the effort.

In Gratitude We Join with Holy Spirit

I thank You Father for holding my holiness perfect for me. Though I walk in the wilderness of imagined guilt and fear, You hold my holiness in perfection for me. You know me as I am, not as I imagine I am. I am grateful for the gift of my Teacher in my mind, who reminds me of Your Love and Your peace and Your joy, which You will to be mine and so they are. As I practice thinking with the Holy Spirit, I remember eternal holiness abides in me. (Excerpt from A Course in Miracles Workbook Daily Lesson 299 Insights.)

When we join with the Holy Spirit, we see every brother as one with us in Love. We are able to see past the appearance of bodies and behavior. We recognize that these do not represent the truth in our brother. They simply reflect belief in a false idea that separation could be real. As we direct our attention to the inner vision we receive from the Holy Spirit, the images of the world diminish in importance and the recognition of ever-present Love comes forward.

In this world we all seek for Love because the world is the denial of Love. It is through joining with the Holy Spirit that we are led on the path to remembering the Love that we are and always have been. As we follow this path, our hearts are filled with gratitude as we experience the Love of the Holy Spirit — the Love of God.

The Easy Path to God

How gladly does the Holy Spirit come to rescue us from hell, when we allow His teaching to persuade the world, through us, to seek and find the easy path to God. (A Course in Miracles, W-pII.296.2:3. See also ACIM Lesson 296 Insights.)

We find the easy path to God as we are willing to step back from our habitual thoughts and self-made plans and open to the Holy Spirit’s lead.

We want God’s Thoughts to be in charge of our mind. We want our doing to be expressions of God’s Love. We let go of all we have learned from the past and practice being open to a better way. This better way comes from the Holy Spirit Who rescues us from our misperceptions and clears the way to true perception.

With Holy Spirit we see past separation and find the blessings that come as we accept Love’s oneness. This practice is the easy path to God.

We Share One Identity in God

You can stretch out your hand and reach to Heaven. You whose hand is joined with your brother’s have begun to reach beyond the body, but not outside yourself, to reach your shared Identity together. Could this be outside you? Where God is not? Is He a body, and did He create you as He is not, and where He cannot be? You are surrounded only by Him. What limits can there be on you whom He encompasses?” (T-18.VI.10)

Today we practice opening to the Holy Spirit’s undoing of our misperceptions. We let Holy Spirit shine a Light on our false ideas of being separate and alone. We let the Holy Spirit shine a Light on our misperceptions of every brother. Today we would see past individuality and differences to our connectedness in Heaven. We all are united eternally as God’s Love and in God’s Love. Today we are willing to see the Love beyond our misperceptions of separation. With this willingness we are blessed with God’s gifts of peace and joy.

Learning Holy Spirit’s Lessons of Happiness and Peace

If you would be a happy learner, you must give everything you have learned to the Holy Spirit, to be unlearned for you. And then begin to learn the joyous lessons that come quickly on the firm foundation that truth is true. For what is builded there is true, and built on truth. The universe of learning will open up before you in all its gracious simplicity. With truth before you, you will not look back. (A Course in Miracles, T-14.II.6. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

Love is truth. The attributes of Love are joy and peace. In this world of form we all are seeking Love, happiness and peace. Yet these cannot be found in this world because this world is the denial of the oneness of Love.

The Course is teaching us that we have been given the means in our minds to find the Love that cannot be found in the world. The practice of bringing all that we have learned in this world to the Holy Spirit and letting Him undo these mistaken lessons is the path to Love, joy and peace. It is the way out of the dream of fear, guilt and death.

We choose today to walk with Holy Spirit as our Guide in all our doing, that we may learn His loving lessons of happiness and peace.
