Being a Messenger of God’s Love

⁶In quietness is [the peace of God] acknowledged universally. ⁷For what your inward vision looks upon is your perception of the universe.

Sit quietly and close your eyes. ²The light within you is sufficient. ³It alone has power to give the gift of sight to you. ⁴Exclude the outer world, and let your thoughts fly to the peace within. ⁵They know the way. ⁶For honest thoughts, untainted by the dream of worldly things outside yourself, become the holy messengers of God Himself.

We practice coming nearer to the light in us today. ²We take our wandering thoughts, and gently bring them back to where they fall in line with all the thoughts we share with God.

…we acknowledge that the peace of God still shines in us, and from us to all living things that share our life. ²We will forgive them all, absolving all the world from what we thought it did to us. ³For it is we who make the world as we would have it. ⁴Now we choose that it be innocent, devoid of sin and open to salvation. ⁵And we lay our saving blessing on it, as we say:

⁶The peace of God is shining in me now.

The body’s eyes cannot show us anything real. True vision comes from within our mind when we are willing to quiet the ego’s chaotic thoughts. We pause today to focus on the peace of God within. We rest in its warm embrace, certain of our safety. We welcome the thoughts of Love that we share with our Father.

From this place of peace in our mind, we offer Love to the world. We let the Light of Love show us the Love that is the truth in every brother. The Light shows us how to answer calls for Love with Love. We are blessed to be God’s messengers of Love to the world.

Releasing the World to Timeless Love

⁴Those who receive the Father are one with Him, being host to Him Who created them. ⁵And by allowing Him to enter, the remembrance of the Father enters with Him, and with Him they remember the only relationship they ever had, and ever want to have.

“\This is the time in which a new year will soon be born from the time of Christ. ²I have perfect faith in you to do all that you would accomplish. ³Nothing will be lacking, and you will make complete and not destroy. ⁴Say, then, to your brother:

⁵I give you to the Holy Spirit as part of myself.
⁶I know that you will be released, unless I want to use you to imprison myself.
⁷In the name of my freedom I choose your release, because I recognize that we will be released together.

⁸So will the year begin in joy and freedom. ⁹There is much to do, and we have been long delayed. ¹⁰Accept the holy instant as this year is born, and take your place, so long left unfulfilled, in the Great Awakening. ¹¹Make this year different by making it all the same. ¹²And let all your relationships be made holy for you. ¹³This is our will. ¹⁴Amen. To give a brother to the Holy Spirit is to see him as one with our Self. As long as we see anyone as different, we are imprisoning them with us in an illusion of a world where Love is denied. Yet the Reality that we are all unified in Love as God’s one Son is unaffected by this illusion.

By giving our perceptions to the Holy Spirit, we are expressing our willingness to let go of false beliefs and accept the Love that unites us with all Creation. We are released into the changelessness of timeless Love.

The Motivation to Accept Love’s Oneness

No one can look upon what your grievances conceal. ²Because your grievances are hiding the light of the world in you, everyone stands in darkness, and you beside him. ³But as the veil of your grievances is lifted, you are released with him. ⁴Share your salvation now with him who stood beside you when you were in hell. ⁵He is your brother in the light of the world that saves you both.

²Salvation is our only need. ³There is no other purpose here, and no other function to fulfill. ⁴Learning salvation is our only goal. ⁵Let us end the ancient search today by finding the light in us, and holding it up for everyone who searches with us to look upon and rejoice.

²Your little effort and small determination call on the power of the universe to help you, and God Himself will raise you from darkness into light. ³You are in accord with His Will. ⁴You cannot fail because your will is His.

…what you undertake with God must succeed. ⁶Then let the power of God work in you and through you, that His Will and yours be done.

⁴My grievances hide the light of the world in me. ⁵I cannot see what I have hidden. ⁶Yet I want to let it be revealed to me, for my salvation and the salvation of the world. (A Course in Miracles, W-69.1;3:2-5;7:2-4;8:5-6;9:4-6. See also ACIM Lesson 69 Insights.)

Any sense of sadness, fear, anger or guilt is a sure sign that we are holding a grievance. Grievances are always based on perceptions of differences. But differences can only be perceived in a dream in which separation is believed to be real. This dream denies the Reality of Love’s oneness.

We need to free ourselves from our mistaken belief that separation is real. We start the process of setting ourselves free by acknowledging we are holding a grievance. We remind ourselves that this mistaken perception is hiding the Light of Love from our awareness. But we want to remember the Love that is our true Self.

Now we are motivated to ask the Holy Spirit for help. With an open mind, His vision helps us see past the illusion of differences to the Love that unifies us with our brothers and our Creator. Grievances disappear when accept the vision that shows us the Love in which we live.

The Path to Eternal Happiness

All that is ever cherished as a hidden belief, to be defended though unrecognized, is faith in specialness. ²This takes many forms, but always clashes with the reality of God’s creation and with the grandeur that He gave His Son. ³What else could justify attack? ⁴For who could hate someone whose Self is his, and Whom he knows? ⁵Only the special could have enemies, for they are different and not the same. ⁶And difference of any kind imposes orders of reality, and a need to judge that cannot be escaped.

Specialness is the great dictator of the wrong decisions. ²Here is the grand illusion of what you are and what your brother is. ³And here is what must make the body dear and worth preserving.

Your brother is your friend because his Father created him like you. ²There is no difference. ³You have been given to your brother that love might be extended, not cut off from him. ⁴What you keep is lost to you. ⁵God gave you and your brother Himself, and to remember this is now the only purpose that you share. ⁶And so it is the only one you have. The reality of Love is uniformly one and the same. There can be no differences within Love. This fact is key to learn to accept our true Self. This Self remains eternally united with our Father, Who holds It dear as His one Son.

The perception of any differences is a sure sign that we are believing in a false, separate identity. It is this mistaken belief that must be forgiven for us to awaken to our Identity as Love. Having bought into a false identity, we need help to let go of our mistaken beliefs.

The Holy Spirit in our mind is given us as our Guide to return to Love as our Identity. With the Holy Spirit’s help, we learn to see past the appearance of differences to the Love that unites us with All. Today we gratefully accept the Holy Spirit’s help to see the truth of Love in every brother. Here is where we find peace and eternal happiness.

Letting Our Problems Be Resolved

In quietness are all things answered, and is every problem quietly resolved. ²In conflict there can be no answer and no resolution, for its purpose is to make no resolution possible, and to ensure no answer will be plain. ³A problem set in conflict has no answer, for it is seen in different ways. ⁴And what would be an answer from one point of view is not an answer in another light. ⁵You are in conflict. ⁶Thus it must be clear you cannot answer anything at all, for conflict has no limited effects. ⁷Yet if God gave an answer there must be a way in which your problems are resolved, for what He wills already has been done.

Thus it must be that time is not involved and every problem can be answered now. ²Yet it must also be that, in your state of mind, solution is impossible. ³Therefore, God must have given you a way of reaching to another state of mind in which the answer is already there. ⁴Such is the holy instant. ⁵It is here that all your problems should be brought and left. ⁶Here they belong, for here their answer is. ⁷And where its answer is, a problem must be simple and be easily resolved. ⁸It must be pointless to attempt to solve a problem where the answer cannot be. ⁹Yet just as surely it must be resolved, if it is brought to where the answer is.

Attempt to solve no problems but within the holy instant’s surety. ²For there the problem _will_ be answered and resolved. (A Course in Miracles, T-27.IV.1:1–3:2. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)

The ego thrives in conflict. It does not want any problem to be truly resolved, never to return. To protect its domain, the ego keeps our mind cluttered with attempts to resolve problems that will not work.

But we can train our mind to step back from conflict. When we let our mind return to a peaceful state, it is open to seeing from the Holy Spirit’s point of view, which sees only the oneness of Love. His vision shows that where we thought there were differences, the reality of Love’s oneness remains unaffected. In quiet the perception of differences fades and our unity with Creation is seen as our Reality.

With consistent practice, we can learn to easily pause to let our mind return to peace. In that instant we let the Holy Spirit’s inspiration show us that our perceived problem has been resolved.

Gratitude for the Love of Our Father

⁴If you remain as God created you fear has no meaning, evil is not real, and misery and death do not exist.

Today’s idea is therefore all you need to let complete correction heal your mind, and give you perfect vision that will heal all the mistakes that any mind has made at any time or place. ²It is enough to heal the past and make the future free. ³It is enough to let the present be accepted as it is. ⁴It is enough to let time be the means for all the world to learn escape from time, and every change that time appears to bring in passing by.

²If you are as God created you, then there has been no separation of your mind from His, no split between your mind and other minds, and only unity within your own.

The healing power of today’s idea is limitless. ²It is the birthplace of all miracles, the great restorer of the truth to the awareness of the world. ³Practice today’s idea with gratitude. ⁴This is the truth that comes to set you free. ⁵This is the truth that God has promised you. ⁶This is the Word in which all sorrow ends. Our Father created us in the oneness of His Love. This is our Reality. We remain fully protected by His Love. His joy and peace are ours without limit.

Only a dream of specialness has made us unaware of our true Identity. Today we remind ourselves that we remain as God created us. We rest in the certainty of His eternal Love. We let Love guide our thoughts and actions to be messengers of Love in a dream where Love is denied. We see the truth of Love in every brother and overlook appearances that seem to justify attack and defense.

We are grateful that we are safe in the Heart of our Father.

Giving Ourselves the Gift of Truth

There is a very simple way to find the door to true forgiveness, and perceive it open wide in welcome. ²When you feel that you are tempted to accuse someone of sin in any form, do not allow your mind to dwell on what you think he did, for that is self-deception. ³Ask instead, “Would I accuse myself of doing this?

Thus will you see alternatives for choice in terms that render choosing meaningful, and keep your mind as free of guilt and pain as God Himself intended it to be, and as it is in truth. ²It is but lies that would condemn. ³In truth is innocence the only thing there is. ⁴Forgiveness stands between illusions and the truth; between the world you see and that which lies beyond; between the hell of guilt and Heaven’s gate.

Across this bridge, as powerful as love which laid its blessing on it, are all dreams of evil and of hatred and attack brought silently to truth. ²They are not kept to swell and bluster, and to terrify the foolish dreamer who believes in them. ³He has been gently wakened from his dream by understanding what he thought he saw was never there. ⁴And now he cannot feel that all escape has been denied to him. Belief in sin comes with the belief that separation is real. Only in separation does harm seem to be possible. Yet, only Love is real, and Love is one. In oneness, there is no other, no differences that could seem to conflict. In Love, sin cannot exist.

Every judgment we make stems from a false belief that we are separate and alone. True forgiveness brings release from judgment. It sees past the false images of differences to the eternal oneness of Love. As we learn to forgive, we see that what we thought occurred to threaten us never happened.

Now we see with the eyes of Christ. This vision shows us Love’s reality and easily passes by throughs of separation. Forgiveness is a gift we give ourselves.
