Letting Holy Spirit Restore Our Mind to Sanity

We state again the truth about your Self, the holy Son of God Who rests in you; whose mind has been restored to sanity. You are the spirit lovingly endowed with all your Father’s Love and peace and joy. You are the spirit which completes Himself, and shares His function as Creator. He is with you always, as you are with Him.

Spirit am I, a holy Son of God, free of all limits, safe and healed and whole, free to forgive, and free to save the world. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.97.2:1-4;7:2)

We are one Self, united as the one Spirit of Love. Our daily practice is to open to our true Identity as Love and remember that we are one with all of God’s Love. The Holy Spirit resides in our minds and is always there to help us remember this truth about ourselves.

We let Holy Spirit help us remember by consistently joining with Him in our minds and letting Him be our Interpreter of everything we perceive in the world. The Holy Spirit will show us the loving Truth beyond the images of separation. As we accept His vision, we free the world from our judgments and recognize the presence of God’s Love everywhere. We move from the insanity of fear and guilt toward the recognition of the Love and innocence we are.

We Accept God’s Peace Today

Today we focus on accepting the peace that comes from our Father to His Son… We put out the welcome mat for peace and let it gently flow through every part of our mind… We accept God’s peace and let it extend through us with every thought, every interaction and all our doing…

Accepting God’s gift of peace and extending it all through the day is our primary focus… Because we are one with our Father and peace is inherent in God, we remember that peace is inherent in us… We remember we are one with God’s peace today… We are the beingness of peace… and we are grateful for the blessings peace brings as we receive the peace we are and extend it to the world.

Remembering the Christ Within

The Christ in you is very still. He knows where you are going, and He leads you there in gentleness and blessing all the way. His Love for God replaces all the fear you thought you saw within yourself.

Christ’s hand holds all His brothers in Himself. He gives them vision for their sightless eyes, and sings to them of Heaven, that their ears may hear no more the sound of battle and of death. …The sight of Christ is all there is to see. The song of Christ is all there is to hear. The hand of Christ is all there is to hold. There is no journey but to walk with Him. (T-24.V.6:1-3;72-3,7-10)

The Christ is in all of us, in the stillness of our quiet mind. He is available in every moment to bring Light to what we see and guide our way. He is nearer than our heart yet reaches to all eternity where the Love we are abides.

Today we start by going to the center of peace within to remember the Christ that is the truth in us. And through the day we practice returning to that quiet center where we remember the sight of Christ and hear His song of Love and feel the comfort of His hand. And with the strength He gives us, we will see Him in every brother and recognize the gift our brother offers us to lead us to the Home we share in Love.

Our Need for Mind Training

Reality is accessible only to a mind that is bright, alive and focused in the present. To let the mind wander in the past or project the future, is to miss the present entirely. Only a mind, resting in the present, can encounter Truth. An undisciplined mind, an untrained mind, cannot attain or maintain the necessary condition to directly experience its true Being. The purpose of spiritual discipline, of mind training, is to achieve just that quietness and stability of mind in which Spirit reveals Itself as you. (From the Christ Mind, p. 70. We are seeing that we have been wrong about our identity. We are learning that to return to our true Identity, we need mind training. The Holy Spirit quietly resides in our mind, waiting for us to be willing to return to Reality. We are learning to practice listening to our inner Teacher, the Holy Spirit, instead of the false ego mind. We are letting the thoughts that come from the false ego mind be undone by the Holy Spirit. As we allow our fear thoughts, our false beliefs to be undone, we are returned to the freedom, peace and joy of our true Identity.

To receive the Holy Spirit’s mind training, we must be willing to let ourselves return to the quiet mind, where peace abides. As we practice the spiritual discipline of consistently choosing peace rather than conflict and fear thoughts, we give the Holy Spirit the opportunity to heal and release our thoughts from the past. We are brought to the Love we are in the eternal now. We are brought to the awareness that we are the same eternal Spirit that includes everyone.

Forgiveness Prayer

Today I am willing to see past illusions to the truth.
Today I am willing to become as a little child
and be taught by the One Who knows.

Today I step back and take my unhealed thoughts to the Light,
that I might see them for the nothingness they are.

I am willing to let my projections be undone.
I am willing to remember Where I am always.

Today I am willing to be happy, instead of right.

Choosing Truth over Illusion

Our opportunity today is to practice choosing truth over illusion. All through the day we are either choosing thoughts from the ego mind or the truth that comes from the Holy Spirit.

Today we focus on knowing that we hold Holy Spirit’s Hand all through the day. We use Holy Spirit’s Help with every situation. We listen, and receive as we have asked. We remember that Help is right there for us in every now moment. We want the truth and therefore we receive the truth. We consciously recognize that we have the means to wake up from the dream of separation. We join with every brother in the Light of Truth and see that as we overlook the illusions, we are one in the Spirit of Love.

We recognize that today is an important day in our awakening. We can save years of trials and tribulations. We can return to Heaven and realize that in truth we never left. We can feel Love’s peace, joy and happiness — today. All this comes to us as we are willing to choose truth over illusions — right now. We know we are blessed and extend blessing to the world.

Prayer of Let Go and Let God

Father, we do not know the way to You. But we have called, and You have answered us. We will not interfere. Salvation’s ways are not our own, for they belong to You. And it is unto You we look for them. Our hands are open to receive Your gifts. We have no thoughts we think apart from You, and cherish no beliefs of what we are, or Who created us. Yours is the way that we would find and follow. And we ask but that Your Will, which is our own as well, be done in us and in the world, that it become a part of Heaven now. Amen. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.189.10)

God’s Will for us is perfect happiness, perfect Love. In every moment a gift of happiness is offered us. To experience it we just need to accept it. We accept the gift God offers us in each moment by seeing through the eyes of Love, through the eyes of our true Self.

This vision shows us the Love every brother offers us in the present moment. It shows us that beyond the appearances of the world, Love is eternally there to be received and given. As we let go of trying to make our own separate world and let the Love of God in us be, we experience the joy of Heaven.
