Remembering We Live in Love and Peace

God is my refuge and security.

“\I will identify with what I think is refuge and security. ²I will behold myself where I perceive my strength, and think I live within the citadel where I am safe and cannot be attacked. ³Let me today seek not security in danger, nor attempt to find my peace in murderous attack. ⁴I live in God. ⁵In Him I find my refuge and my strength. ⁶In Him is my Identity. ⁷In Him is everlasting peace. ⁸And only there will I remember Who I really am.

Let me not seek for idols. ²I would come, my Father, home to You today. ³I choose to be as You created me, and find the Son whom You created as my Self. (A Course in Miracles, W-261. See also ACIM Lesson 261 Insights.)

The body is a barrier made to wall us off from the Love of God. It keeps us separated from Reality and only provides confirmation that we live in an imaginary world. In this world we are not safe and must constantly plan for our protection. This is all a nightmare that could never be true.

Our real Life is in God. He is our Source and our strength. God does not change the Love He is. In this we can trust that we remain eternally united with Him. In God we trust because He is all that is Real. There is no conflict in Love and no harm can come because Love is changeless. We live in God. We affirm this fact today to remember that we live in perfect safety. We live in peace.

We Practice Letting Go of Judgments

There is a peace that Christ bestows on us.

Who uses but Christ’s vision finds a peace so deep and quiet, undisturbable and wholly changeless, that the world contains no counterpart. ²Comparisons are still before this peace. ³And all the world departs in silence as this peace envelops it, and gently carries it to truth, no more to be the home of fear. ⁴For love has come, and healed the world by giving it Christ’s peace.

Father, the peace of Christ is given us, because it is Your Will that we be saved. ²Help us today but to accept Your gift, and judge it not. ³For it has come to us to save us from our judgment on ourselves. (A Course in Miracles, W-305. See also ACIM Lesson 305 Insights.)

Christ’s vision shows us Love because It sees with forgiving eyes. When our judgments are forgiven, only Love remains. Love knows only itself.

As we let go of our judgments, conflict is dispelled. No longer is harm feared, for Love is constant, changeless and all that is Real. When we accept Christ’s vision, we accept Love as our Reality. In Love’s Reality, peace of mind is complete. We live in joy because we join in extending God’s Love.

Today we practice letting go of our judgments and welcoming the vision of Christ. This is how we find the peace of God.

Joining Love’s Eternal Extension

Father, Your Will is mine, and only that. ²There is no other will for me to have. ³Let me not try to make another will, for it is senseless and will cause me pain. ⁴Your Will alone can bring me happiness, and only Yours exists. ⁵If I would have what only You can give, I must accept Your Will for me, and enter into peace where conflict is impossible, Your Son is one with You in being and in will, and nothing contradicts the holy truth that I remain as You created me.

And with this prayer we enter silently into a state where conflict cannot come, because we join our holy will with God’s, in recognition that they are the same. (A Course in Miracles, W-307.1–2. See also ACIM Lesson 307 Insights.)

The ego is a demand that God give what He cannot give. God gives us all of His Love, which is all that is Real. He cannot give more than everything.

Because God cannot give what the ego demands, the ego made up a dream with images that appear to offer specialness. This substitute “will” we have accepted as our own. But it is not our real Will. Because we are extensions of God’s Love and remain united with Him, His Will is ours. Our only will is to be Love and extend Love. When we accept our will as God’s, the ego’s substitute is dispelled into the nothingness from which it came.

Today we choose to accept the Self that is God’s Love and join in Love’s eternal extension.

Letting Love Correct Our Mind

Miracle-minded forgiveness is only correction. It has no element of judgment at all. The statement “Father forgive them for they know not what they do” in no way evaluates what they do. It is an appeal to God to heal their minds. There is no reference to the outcome of the error. That does not matter.

Time is under my direction, but timelessness belongs to God. In time we exist for and with each other. In timelessness we coexist with God.

You can do much on behalf of your own healing and that of others if, in a situation calling for help, you think of it this way:

I am here only to be truly helpful.
I am here to represent Him Who sent me.
I do not have to worry about what to say or what to do, because He Who sent me will direct me.
I am content to be wherever He wishes, knowing He goes there with me.
I will be healed as I let Him teach me to heal. (T-2.III.16;17:5-18:6. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)

What expresses God’s Love is truly helpful. When we let love direct us, we serve as Love’s expression in the world of form. Only our wish for specialness, to be separate and unique, interferes with the flow of God’s Love through us to the world. As we forgive this wish, our mind is corrected and the flow of Love is unblocked.

When we perceive an unloving thought or situation, we need to recognize that it is a call for Love. A mistaken belief in lack of Love needs to be corrected, not judged. The Voice for God will teach us how to answer the call for Love with Love.

Letting Love Be Expressed Through Us

If you cannot hear the Voice for God, it is because you do not choose to listen. ²That you

do

listen to the voice of your ego is demonstrated by your attitudes, your feelings and your behavior.

²When your mood tells you that you have chosen wrongly, and this is so whenever you are not joyous, then know this need not be. ³In every case you have thought wrongly about some brother God created, and are perceiving images your ego makes in a darkened glass. ⁴Think honestly what you have thought that God would not have thought, and what you have not thought that God would have you think.

The habit of engaging with God and His creations is easily made if you actively refuse to let your mind slip away.

²There is no limit to the power of a Son of God, but he can limit the expression of his power as much as he chooses. ³Your mind and mine can unite in shining your ego away, releasing the strength of God into everything you think and do.

⁴His Mind shone on you in your creation and brought your mind into being. ⁵His Mind still shines on you and must shine through you. ⁶Your ego cannot prevent Him from shining on you, but it can prevent you from letting Him shine through you.

God is Love and everything He creates is Love. Only Love is real so there is no other force that can disturb the peace of Love. God’s Creations are His Thoughts of Love. His Thoughts never leave His Mind, but extend without limit.

To join with God is to join with His Thoughts of Love. As we go through our experience each day, we can ask ourselves, “How would Love see this? What would Love do or say in this situation?” As we focus on letting Love guide our thoughts and actions, we bring Love to the world. We join with the Love in all God’s Creations. We recognize every brother as one with us in Love. As we let the day be Love’s expression through us, it will be a day of joy and peace.

True Perception Brings Healing

⁵To be one is to be of one mind or will. ⁶When the Will of the Sonship and the Father are one, their perfect accord is Heaven.

Nothing can prevail against a Son of God who commends his spirit into the Hands of his Father. ²By doing this the mind awakens from its sleep and remembers its Creator. ³All sense of separation disappears. ⁴The Son of God is part of the Holy Trinity, but the Trinity Itself is One. ⁵There is no confusion within Its Levels, because They are of one Mind and one Will. ⁶This single purpose creates perfect integration and establishes the peace of God.

The way to correct distortions is to withdraw your faith in them and invest it only in what is true. ²You cannot make untruth true. ³If you are willing to accept what is true in everything you perceive, you let it be true for you. ⁴Truth overcomes all error, and those who live in error and emptiness can never find lasting solace. ⁵If you perceive truly you are cancelling out misperceptions in yourself and in others simultaneously. ⁶Because you see them as they are, you offer them your acceptance of their truth so they can accept it for themselves. ⁷This is the healing that the miracle induces. Our true Self is one with the Holy Spirit and our Creator. There is no difference because what is one has no difference within it. But in the dream we act as if we are not our Self. We have taken on a false identity. And that identity reports false perceptions.

The Holy Spirit is the part of our Mind that can communicate with the false identity. We can call upon It to help us heal the misperceptions and see truly as our true Self.

We want to awaken to the peace of God. We want to know that we are Love and loving. The Holy Spirit is our Guide to awaken. We ask Him today to help us see true perception. As we accept His help, we will see the truth in our brothers. As we see the Love they are, we awaken to the Love we are.

We Are Loved Beyond Description

God speaks to us. ²Shall we not speak to Him? ³He is not distant. ⁴He makes no attempt to hide from us. ⁵We try to hide from Him, and suffer from deception. ⁶He remains entirely accessible.

God loves His Son. ²Request Him now to give the means by which this world will disappear, and vision first will come, with knowledge but an instant later. ³For in grace you see a light that covers all the world in love, and watch fear disappear from every face as hearts rise up and claim the light as theirs. ⁴What now remains that Heaven be delayed an instant longer? ⁵What is still undone when your forgiveness rests on everything?

³We acknowledge our mistakes, but He to Whom all error is unknown is yet the One Who answers our mistakes by giving us the means to lay them down, and rise to Him in gratitude and love. (A Course in Miracles, W-168.1:1-6;4;5:3. See also ACIM Lesson 168 Insights.)

We seem to live in a dream dark with fear. Fear casts its shadow throughout our experience. It stems from the guilt that comes with believing we have denied God and fear His retribution for our denial of His Love. We are unaware of all these emotions that lie beneath the surface of our awareness. But they are behind all the perceived need to protect ourselves and search for Love and acceptance.

There is a Light that will dispel the dark shadows of fear. It is the Light of Love given us in our Creation to be forever ours. We have been given a Guide in the dream to help us see past the shadows of fear. We can welcome this Guide by pausing to go within to the peace of God that is there waiting for us to be open to it.

The Light of Love surrounds us and protects us so that nothing we dream can change the fact that Love created us like Itself. In peace we welcome Love’s vision which shows us Its Presence everywhere. In gratitude we welcome this vision which shows us the way to our Home in Heaven.
