We Are Loved Beyond Description

God speaks to us. ²Shall we not speak to Him? ³He is not distant. ⁴He makes no attempt to hide from us. ⁵We try to hide from Him, and suffer from deception. ⁶He remains entirely accessible.

God loves His Son. ²Request Him now to give the means by which this world will disappear, and vision first will come, with knowledge but an instant later. ³For in grace you see a light that covers all the world in love, and watch fear disappear from every face as hearts rise up and claim the light as theirs. ⁴What now remains that Heaven be delayed an instant longer? ⁵What is still undone when your forgiveness rests on everything?

³We acknowledge our mistakes, but He to Whom all error is unknown is yet the One Who answers our mistakes by giving us the means to lay them down, and rise to Him in gratitude and love. (A Course in Miracles, W-168.1:1-6;4;5:3. See also ACIM Lesson 168 Insights.)

We seem to live in a dream dark with fear. Fear casts its shadow throughout our experience. It stems from the guilt that comes with believing we have denied God and fear His retribution for our denial of His Love. We are unaware of all these emotions that lie beneath the surface of our awareness. But they are behind all the perceived need to protect ourselves and search for Love and acceptance.

There is a Light that will dispel the dark shadows of fear. It is the Light of Love given us in our Creation to be forever ours. We have been given a Guide in the dream to help us see past the shadows of fear. We can welcome this Guide by pausing to go within to the peace of God that is there waiting for us to be open to it.

The Light of Love surrounds us and protects us so that nothing we dream can change the fact that Love created us like Itself. In peace we welcome Love’s vision which shows us Its Presence everywhere. In gratitude we welcome this vision which shows us the way to our Home in Heaven.

The Benefit of Welcoming God’s Peace

This is a day of stillness and of peace.

Christ’s vision looks through me today. ²His sight shows me all things forgiven and at peace, and offers this same vision to the world. ³And I accept this vision in its name, both for myself and for the world as well. ⁴What loveliness we look upon today! ⁵What holiness we see surrounding us! ⁶And it is given us to recognize it is a holiness in which we share; it is the Holiness of God Himself.

This day my mind is quiet, to receive the Thoughts You offer me. ²And I accept what comes from You, instead of from myself. ³I do not know the way to You. ⁴But You are wholly certain. ⁵Father, guide Your Son along the quiet path that leads to You. ⁶Let my forgiveness be complete, and let the memory of You return to me. The ego constantly defends against stillness and peace. It clutters our mind with myriad forms of conflict. Some of these conflicts we seem to win, and others we lose. Some seem to threaten our life, which the ego welcomes because it reinforces its belief in the reality of death. All this clutter the ego fosters shows that the ego is not our friend.

We are not controlled by the ego. It is only our wish for specialness that puts it in charge of the dream. We have a choice. We can choose to welcome stillness and peace. But because we have been enamored with the ego’s goal for so long, it takes time, vigilance and practice to quiet our mind and welcome God’s peace in place of the ego’s chaos.

The willingness to pause and welcome God’s peace in our mind opens the door to freedom from the ego. It opens our mind to Christ’s vision, which sees the presence of Love and peace everywhere. Every effort to welcome the peace of God brings us closer to awakening to the Love of God within us.

The blessing that God offers us becomes clearer as we let go of our mistaken beliefs in separation through forgiveness. In peace we remember the Self God created eternally one with Him. We practice welcoming God’s peace today.

Awaken to Love with Christ’s Vision

Father, Christ’s vision is Your gift to me, and it has power to translate all that the body’s eyes behold into the sight of a forgiven world. ²How glorious and gracious is this world! ³Yet how much more will I perceive in it than sight can give. ⁴The world forgiven signifies Your Son acknowledges his Father, lets his dreams be brought to truth, and waits expectantly the one remaining instant more of time which ends forever, as Your memory returns to him. ⁵And now his will is one with Yours. ⁶His function now is but Your Own, and every thought except Your Own is gone.

The quiet of today will bless our hearts, and through them peace will come to everyone. ²Christ is our eyes today. ³And through His sight we offer healing to the world through Him, the holy Son whom God created whole; the holy Son whom God created one. We believe what the body’s senses tell us because we want separation to be real. Only if separation were real could we be special and unique. But this wish denies the oneness of Love. It is through Christ’s vision that we forgive the wish that denies the Love we are.

We want to remember Love. In fact, everyone in this world is searching for Love. But the body cannot show us Love, nor lead us to It. Love has no form and cannot be seen with the body’s eyes. But Love can be expressed in this world in forms through which it can be received. Through Christ’s vision, we can see the Love that is in everyone. This vision of Love guides us to express Love in the dream.

Today we are willing to receive Christ’s vision to bring healing to the dream. This is how we awaken to the Love we are.

Letting Love Be Our Guide

The Holy Spirit needs my voice today, that all the world may listen to Your Voice, and hear Your Word through me. ²I am resolved to let You speak through me, for I would use no words but Yours, and have no thoughts which are apart from Yours, for only Yours are true. ³I would be savior to the world I made. ⁴For having damned it I would set it free, that I may find escape, and hear the Word Your holy Voice will speak to me today.

We teach today what we would learn, and that alone. ²And so our learning goal becomes an unconflicted one, and possible of easy reach and quick accomplishment. ³How gladly does the Holy Spirit come to rescue us from hell, when we allow His teaching to persuade the world, through us, to seek and find the easy path to God. As we learn the Holy Spirit’s lessons in Love, we become messengers of Love in the world. We heal the world by our own healing, demonstrated in the way we live as followers of the Holy Spirit.

We dedicate today to keeping our mind quiet and open to the Holy Spirit’s lessons. With His help, we will see past appearances in the world to the Love that is everywhere, always. We will be His voice as we let Love guide our perceptions, words and actions. It will be a day full of blessings.

Accepting God’s Eternal Gifts

All things are given you. ²God’s trust in you is limitless. ³He knows His Son. ⁴He gives without exception, holding nothing back that can contribute to your happiness. ⁵And yet, unless your will is one with His, His gifts are not received. ⁶But what would make you think there is another will than His?

Here is the paradox that underlies the making of the world. ²This world is not the Will of God, and so it is not real.

Yet in his lonely, senseless wanderings, God’s gifts go with him, all unknown to him. ²He cannot lose them. ³But he will not look at what is given him. ⁴He wanders on, aware of the futility he sees about him everywhere, perceiving how his little lot but dwindles, as he goes ahead to nowhere. ⁵Still he wanders on in misery and poverty, alone though God is with him, and a treasure his so great that everything the world contains is valueless before its magnitude.

³One walks with you Who gently answers all your fears with this one merciful reply, “It is not so.” ⁴He points to all the gifts you have each time the thought of poverty oppresses you, and speaks of His Companionship when you perceive yourself as lonely and afraid.

⁴Be witness in your happiness to how transformed the mind becomes which chooses to accept His gifts, and feel the touch of Christ. (W-166.1:1–2:2;5;11:3-4;15:4)

We have a mighty Companion, Whose sole purpose is to teach us that this dream is not real. We already have all that we need. We are wholly loved and eternally united with the Source of Love. The gift given by our Creator includes all His strength, peace and joy. As we accept our Companion’s lessons, we know we are eternally safe, invulnerable to any images in the dream.

What God gives is given eternally. His strength is ours with His guarantee. It can be helpful to remind ourselves when our peace is disturbed: “God is with me. His strength and Love are mine. I am safe. I rest in His peace.” With this reminder, we ask the Holy Spirit for His vision to help us see the truth beyond the dream.

Learning to See Past Illusions to Truth

It is sin’s unreality that makes forgiveness natural and wholly sane, a deep relief to those who offer it; a quiet blessing where it is received. ²It does not countenance illusions, but collects them lightly, with a little laugh, and gently lays them at the feet of truth. ³And there they disappear entirely.

Forgiveness is the only thing that stands for truth in the illusions of the world. ²It sees their nothingness, and looks straight through the thousand forms in which they may appear. ³It looks on lies, but it is not deceived.

The strength of pardon is its honesty, which is so uncorrupted that it sees illusions as illusions, not as truth. ²It is because of this that it becomes the undeceiver in the face of lies; the great restorer of the simple truth. ³By [pardon’s] ability to overlook what is not there, it opens up the way to truth, which has been blocked by dreams of guilt. ⁴Now are you free to follow in the way your true forgiveness opens up to you. ⁵For if one brother has received this gift of you, the door is open to yourself. Our perception of the world is fully in our control. The world we see is a projection of the beliefs we have accepted for ourselves. We have all experienced that beliefs can change. This ability to change our beliefs means we are not locked in to the dream of fear and guilt.

We always have the ability to change our mind. The appearance of a world we cannot control is the ego’s trick to make us believe we are lost in the dream. With the Holy Spirit’s help, we can learn to see with Christ’s vision. His vision overlooks appearances to see the eternal truth in everyone and everything. It sees that only Love is real.

When we accept the Holy Spirit’s help to see with the eyes of Christ, forgiveness is natural. An illusion recognized for what it is, is easily dismissed. Today we welcome the presence of our holy Comforter. His Love surrounds us and clears away false perceptions to see the Love that unites us with our Creator and Reality. In this recognition we will bless our brothers, who are one with us.

Our Journey into Light

This course is a beginning, not an end. ²Your Friend goes with you. ³You are not alone. ⁴No one who calls on Him can call in vain. ⁵Whatever troubles you, be certain that He has the answer, and will gladly give it to you, if you simply turn to Him and ask it of Him. ⁶He will not withhold all answers that you need for anything that seems to trouble you. ⁷He knows the way to solve all problems, and resolve all doubts. ⁸His certainty is yours. ⁹You need but ask it of Him, and it will be given you.

²Henceforth, hear but the Voice for God and for your Self when you retire from the world, to seek reality instead. ³He will direct your efforts, telling you exactly what to do, how to direct your mind, and when to come to Him in silence, asking for His sure direction and His certain Word. ⁴His is the Word that God has given you. ⁵His is the Word you chose to be your own.

And now I place you in His hands, to be His faithful follower, with Him as Guide through every difficulty and all pain that you may think is real.

³You will be told exactly what God wills for you each time there is a choice to make. ⁴And He will speak for God and for your Self, thus making sure that hell will claim you not, and that each choice you make brings Heaven nearer to your reach. (A Course in Miracles, W-ep.1;3:2–4:1;5:3-4)

We are on a journey of a lifetime. It leads us to awareness that in truth, we are timeless, eternally at one with God. We have a Guide to lead us to our awakening. The path seems to wander because we have been following a guide that does not know the truth of What we are. It leads us through myriad illusions that go nowhere and accomplish nothing.

But God has given us a Guide Whose function is to lead us to Reality. His message is that we are Love and nothing else. He offers us correction of the misguided paths we have followed. As we follow God’s Voice, we learn to see past the false images to the Light of Love in which we live and have our being. This journey without distance leads us from darkness to Light, from fear to Love.

We are grateful that we have been given the means to awaken to the Self God created as His Son.
