Opening to God’s Plan

The Course tells us very specifically to ask:

What would You have me do?
Where would You have me go?
What would You have me say, and to whom?
(A Course in Miracles, W-pI.71.9:3-5)

This practice is important because it trains us to let go of our own plans and open to God’s plan for our salvation and happiness. From the perspective of being a separate individual, identified with the ego, our own plans will always lead us away from salvation and happiness. They follow the ego’s doctrine of seek and do not find.

If we truly want to be happy, to be saved from the world of desperation, hopelessness, fear and guilt, we will consistently practice asking Holy Spirit these important questions. They open the door to true release from the illusionary dream of fear and death. As we open our minds to receive God’s answer, we learn to be truly helpful and we experience the deep fulfillment that comes with fulfilling our purpose.

Today our commitment is to ask these questions frequently, especially when there appears to be a concern or problem in the world. It is a practice that will free us and lead to lasting happiness.
