Learn of the of the Son of God’s Happiness

You who have not yet brought all of the darkness you have taught yourself into the light in you, can hardly judge the truth and value of this course. Yet God did not abandon you. And so you have another lesson sent from Him, already learned for every child of light by Him to Whom God gave it. This lesson shines with God’s glory, for in it lies His power, which He shares so gladly with His Son. Learn of His happiness, which is yours. But to accomplish this, all your dark lessons must be brought willingly to truth, and joyously laid down by hands open to receive, not closed to take. Every dark lesson that you bring to Him Who teaches light He will accept from you, because you do not want it. And He will gladly exchange each one for the bright lesson He has learned for you. Never believe that any lesson you have learned apart from Him means anything. (A Course in Miracles, T-14.XI.4. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

We want to learn of the happiness of our true nature. We want to return to our true Identity as God’s one Son. Here it is very clear that the way to do this is to take everything we have learned from the past — all our assumptions of what we think is true — to the Holy Spirit, Who will lead us through a complete thought reversal.

As we go through our day, there can be a tendency to forget that our assumptions are not true. We forget we are merely dreaming a dream of separation. We forget that we are still one with the Mind of God, where our true happiness abides.

The way to go past this tendency to forget the truth is to step back frequently from our busy doing, and welcome the Light of truth… As we welcome the Light of truth, our minds are filled with peace and a sense of well being… We feel safe and nurtured by the Light of our true Nature…

As we do this consistently, our happiness increases… We develop a pattern of accepting happiness… We feel Holy Spirit’s inspiration… We can feel that we are being carried… We recognize our judgements and hand them over quickly for Holy Spirit’s thought reversal… We receive and extend Love more frequently… We feel all the help our inner Teacher has been giving us… We feel the joy that comes as we accept Holy Spirit’s help… We are in great gratitude… We are so thankful that we have such constant Help from the Holy Spirit… We are so grateful that we have the willingness to accept this Help… This is how we learn of the Son of God’s happiness.

Seeing Past Dreams to Truth

You cannot wake yourself. Yet you can let yourself be wakened. You can overlook your brother’s dreams. So perfectly can you forgive him his illusions he becomes your savior from your dreams.… Whom you forgive is given power to forgive you your illusions. By your gift of freedom is it given unto you.

Make way for love, which you did not create, but which you can extend. On earth this means forgive your brother, that the darkness may be lifted from your mind. (A Course in Miracles, T-29.III.3:2-5;4:1-2. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

Our practice for today is to let Holy Spirit help us see past everyone’s dream to the truth of their oneness in God. As we practice seeing the Light of truth in every brother, our mind is healed. Our continuing practice helps us see past bodies to the eternal strength in everyone. Where we once saw separation, we now see Love’s oneness.

Because we no longer want to see separation, our true Self shows us only oneness. This is the way we make way for Love. As we make way for Love, the darkness of separation is lifted from our mind. We wake up by seeing each brother as he truly is. We see the dream of separation never occurred in truth.

We Let Ourselves be Blessed by Offering Blessing

Let all your brother’s errors be to you nothing except a chance for you to see the workings of the Helper given you to see the world He made instead of yours.… This world has much to offer to your peace, and many chances to extend your own forgiveness. Such its purpose is, to those who want to see peace and forgiveness descend on them, and offer them the light. (A Course in Miracles, T-25.III.7:2,8-9. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

Every moment of every day is an opportunity to let the Holy Spirit show us the world He sees in place of what the ego shows us. The Holy Spirit shows us innocence and Love. He shows us what we may have interpreted as cause for defense and guilt as calls for Love that justify Love’s extension.

We can live in this loving, forgiving and peaceful world. We need only accept the Holy Spirit’s gifts moment by moment. When we perceive a threat of harm or cause for guilt, we can use it as a reminder to turn our attention to our inner Helper. With willingness to receive this Help, each moment becomes an opportunity to bless and be blessed. This is our practice for today.

Imagine Living in God’s Love Instead of Fear

Imagine a day when there is no conflict… only perfect peace…

Imagine a day in which you are fully confident that all your needs are met…

Imagine a day in which you feel perfectly safe… and you know that there is no need to defend…

Imagine a day in which you feel loved without limit… and see that same Love in everything you look upon…

Imagine a day filled with joy… as you extend your overflowing Love to all…

This is the kind of day God wills for us. It is already ours to experience. We need only be willing to accept it by letting go of trying to have a separate, unique identity in which we can seem to have more or less Love than others. When we are willing to let the Love of the Holy Spirit guide all our perceptions and all our doing, this is the kind of day we will have. It is worth the practice of joining with the Holy Spirit, moment by moment.

Let Yourself Be Carried by Love

It is, perhaps, not easy to perceive that self-initiated plans are but defenses…

The mind engaged in planning for itself is occupied in setting up control of future happenings. It does not think that it will be provided for, unless it makes its own provisions. Time becomes a future emphasis, to be controlled by learning and experience obtained from past events and previous beliefs. It overlooks the present, for it rests on the idea the past has taught enough to let the mind direct its future course.

Without defenses, you become a light which Heaven gratefully acknowledges to be its own. And it will lead you on in ways appointed for your happiness according to the ancient plan, begun when time was born. Your followers will join their light with yours, and it will be increased until the world is lighted up with joy. And gladly will our brothers lay aside their cumbersome defenses, which availed them nothing and could only terrify. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.135.14:1;15:1-4;20:1-4. In the dream of time there is a need to plan. But if we plan with the ego as our guide, we will only perpetuate the past, extending the beliefs and memories of the past into the future. If instead we let the Holy Spirit, the Voice for Love, give us His plans, we will be gently and lovingly guided out of the past into Love’s present joy.

As we follow Love’s plans, we are freed from the past and brought to the gates of Heaven, where Love welcomes us Home. All that we need for this journey of return is provided without effort. We need only let ourselves be carried by making no plans on our own.

The Path to Love

My holy brother, think of this awhile: The world you see does nothing. It has no effects at all. It merely represents your thoughts. And it will change entirely as you elect to change your mind, and choose the joy of God as what you really want. Your Self is radiant in this holy joy, unchanged, unchanging and unchangeable, forever and forever.

Lay down your arms, and come without defense into the quiet place where Heaven’s peace holds all things still at last. Lay down all thoughts of danger and of fear. Let no attack enter with you. Lay down the cruel sword of judgment that you hold against your throat, and put aside the withering assaults with which you seek to hide your holiness. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.190.6:1-5;9:1-4. We can only judge if we first believe that we are separate from what we judge. Thus all judgment carries a built-in self-condemnation that we are separate, alone and lack God’s Love and joy and peace. This is why letting go of judgment is the key to happiness. It is the key to release from the hell of a world made to deny Love.

To look on the world with forgiving eyes, we must align with the Holy Spirit’s vision instead of seeing with the ego thought system of separation. Today we ask the Holy Spirit for His help to see all things as He sees them. As we accept His vision, we see the Love beyond all form. We see the peace beyond conflicting images. We feel the joy beyond the depressing appearances of being alone and incomplete. As we join with Holy Spirit, we take the path that leads us Home to Love.

The Source of Healing Is in Our Minds

Today we seek to change our minds about the source of sickness, for we seek a cure for all illusions, not another shift among them. We will try today to find the source of healing, which is in our minds because our Father placed it there for us. It is not farther from us than ourselves. It is as near to us as our own thoughts; so close it is impossible to lose. We need but seek it and it must be found.

We will be still and listen for the Voice of healing, which will cure all ills as one, restoring saneness to the Son of God. No voice but this can cure. Today we hear a single Voice which speaks to us of truth, where all illusions end, and peace returns to the eternal, quiet home of God. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.140.8:1-5;10:2-4)

The Holy Spirit in our minds sees our dreams of separation, but does not believe in them. As we are willing, He gently leads us out of our belief that separation could ever be real. He remembers for us that we are still God’s pure Love. He reminds us that distinctions of any kind are part of the dream and equally unreal. He brings us to the experience of peace, Love and joy, which is beyond this dream world of separation.

He leads us to see past differences to the truth that only Love is real. He helps us feel our immersion in the total Love of God, as is everyone in the dream of separation. He shows us how to be truly helpful and see past guilt to innocence everywhere. We accept the source of healing the Holy Spirit brings us today. We let our minds be healed of all belief in separation. And for this we give thanks.
