Accepting Jesus’ Strength

The ego’s way is not mine, but it is also not yours. The Holy Spirit has one direction for all minds, and the one He taught me is yours. Let us not lose sight of His direction through illusions, for only illusions of another direction can obscure the one for which God’s Voice speaks in all of us. Never accord the ego the power to interfere with the journey. It has none, because the journey is the way to what is true. Leave all illusions behind, and reach beyond all attempts of the ego to hold you back. I go before you because I am beyond the ego. Reach, therefore, for my hand because you want to transcend the ego. My strength will never be wanting, and if you choose to share it you will do so. I give it willingly and gladly, because I need you as much as you need me. (A Course in Miracles, T-8.V.6)

We have so much help to transcend the ego. Jesus is asking us to take his hand. He wants to share his strength with us because it is only in joining in our one true purpose that we reach the Kingdom of God together.

Jesus has one goal and that is to join with the whole Sonship in returning to the awareness of our oneness in God. This is our joy and our happiness. We indeed have all the help we need to leave illusions behind. Help is offered us every moment of every day.

Right now we open to his help… We accept his strength… We take his hand… We are willing to be led… We let go of the desire to decide on our own… We let go and let Jesus point out the way for us… And we give thanks for all the help we are willing to receive throughout the day.

The Path to Happiness

Remember that in every attack [seeing separation] you call upon your own weakness, while each time you forgive [see oneness] you call upon the strength of Christ in you. Do you not then begin to understand what forgiveness will do for you? It will remove all sense of weakness, strain and fatigue from your mind. It will take away all fear and guilt and pain. It will restore the invulnerability and power God gave His Son to your awareness. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.62.3)

To see clearly we need to remove the barriers to seeing. If a window is dirty, we clean the window so we can see more clearly. Likewise, if we want to see truth clearly, we need to clear away the false images that interfere with seeing truth. Images of separation are interferences that keep us from seeing the truth of our oneness in Love.

Forgiveness is the means for clearing away the interferences to seeing the truth. Through forgiveness we let go of our focus on images of separation and clear the way for Christ’s vision, which shows us our oneness with all things in Love. The ego cannot help us with this. In fact the ego is the interference that blinds us to Christ’s vision.

We need to turn to the Guide in our mind given us by our Creator to lead us out of the dream of being separate. If we are willing, our inner Guide will show us what lies beyond the images of separation. This inner Guide offers us the strength of God to help us redirect our focus from false images to the truth that we remain Love as Love created us. This strength supports us in seeing that Love everywhere.

Joining with our inner Guide as we go through the day so that we can be shown the vision of Christ is the path to happiness. It is the path to remembering and accepting our true Self. It is the path that leads us Home.

We Are Safe

Steady our feet, our Father. Let our doubts be quiet and our holy minds be still, and speak to us. We have no words to give to You. We would but listen to Your Word, and make it ours. Lead our practicing as does a father lead a little child along a way he does not understand. Yet does he follow, sure that he is safe because his father leads the way for him. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.V.Int.2)

We are safe because, no matter what catastrophes of victimhood, no matter what scary dreams of being alone and separate we make up, God guarantees our safety. We are safe because nothing can happen to change God’s one Son. We are safe because not matter what scary dream movies we make up, they are not true. They are not real.

We remain one with God as changeless Love. There is nothing in the future that can really harm us or change our true Nature in any way. We may dream dreams of death and destruction and being a victim of a cold, cruel world. We may dream of everything falling apart around us, but that does not change the fact that we are still safe in the loving Mind of God. We cannot really leave God because we are one with God’s Love eternally.

We are coming to the realization that God is our safety in every circumstance. Returning to God, our Source, brings us the freedom from pain, suffering and victimhood we so desperately seek.

Today we give time to God… We let all our doubts be quiet and listen for His quiet, loving inner direction… We listen to our Father… We are as a little child, knowing He knows the way…. We willingly follow as we are led to freedom at last… We come to truly know that we are safe for eternity in the one Mind of Love… We know that this can never change… And we give thanks.

Forgiveness Returns Our Mind to Love

God does not forgive because He has never condemned. And there must be condemnation before forgiveness is necessary. Forgiveness is the great need of this world, but that is because it is a world of illusions. Those who forgive are thus releasing themselves from illusions, while those who withhold forgiveness are binding themselves to them. As you condemn only yourself, so do you forgive only yourself.

Yet although God does not forgive, His Love is nevertheless the basis of forgiveness. Fear condemns and love forgives. Forgiveness thus undoes what fear has produced, returning the mind to the awareness of God. For this reason, forgiveness can truly be called salvation. It is the means by which illusions disappear. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.46.1-2)

The false mind of separation makes up stories of separation.  The Mind of Love knows only Love. As we are willing to return to our eternal Mind of Love, the Holy Spirit helps us see beyond all the stories of separation to the eternal truth of Love’s oneness.

We are now in the process of returning to our real Mind, the Mind of our Source, the Mind of God. This process of returning to Love involves letting go of what could never be true, could never be real. This letting go process is forgiveness.

We have chosen to buy into the ego’s world of everything being separate and alone. This wanting to split off from Love’s oneness is the cause of all our guilt, pain and suffering. We are now at a turning point where we see that being alone, separate, unique and special, is not all that it’s cracked up to be. We are open to a better way. We are willing now to open up to our constant Companion, the Holy Spirit, Who very gently leads us back to Love’s oneness.

As we open to Love’s oneness, we see innocence where we once saw guilt. We experience peace where we once experienced pain and suffering. The Holy Spirit shines a light on all our thoughts of separation which shine away our thoughts of guilt and suffering. Our minds are returned to Love.

Making Way for Happiness

You are indeed essential to God’s plan. Just as your light increases every light that shines in Heaven, so your joy on earth calls to all minds to let their sorrows go, and take their place beside you in God’s plan. God’s messengers are joyous, and their joy heals sorrow and despair. They are the proof that God wills perfect happiness for all who will accept their Father’s gifts as theirs. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.100.4)

Judging is depressing because we can only judge if we believe we are separate from what we judge. This belief in separation denies the Love we are and leaves us feeling loveless and depressed. This need not be.

The antidote for lovelessness and depression is forgiveness. Every time we let go of a judgment, a condemnation, we loosen the fabric of our belief in separation. We make way for our return to full awareness that we remain wholly Love as Love created us. We lack nothing because we have all Love and only Love is real.

Letting go of judgment makes way for the joy of Love to rise to our awareness. This joy is always in us but judgment blinds us to Its presence.  Today we dedicate to making way for happiness by letting go of all judgment.

You Are Spirit

Today’s idea identifies you with your one Self. It accepts no split identity, nor tries to weave opposing factors into unity. It simply states the truth. Practice this truth today as often as you can, for it will bring your mind from conflict to the quiet fields of peace. No chill of fear can enter, for your mind has been absolved from madness, letting go illusions of a split identity.

You are the Spirit lovingly endowed with all your Father’s Love and peace and joy. You are the Spirit which completes Himself, and shares His function as Creator. He is with you always, as you are with Him. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.97.1;2:2-4)

Today let us consistently practice remembering that we are Spirit, complete and healed and whole, shining in the reflection of God’s Love. As Spirit, we are one with every brother… Because we are Spirit, we are united with God always…

We let God’s Love and peace flow through us all through the day… When we find our mind wandering, we return once again, remembering we are united in the one Spirit of Love… accepting and extending our Source of Love throughout the day…

We pass by illusions of sin, guilt and fear whenever they show up… We accept corrected perception and extend corrected perception as we remember we are Spirit.

Opening to Holy Spirit’s Judgment

…the Holy Spirit is the Answer to all problems you have made. These problems are not real, but that is meaningless to those who believe in them. And everyone believes in what he made, for it was made by his believing it. Into this strange and paradoxical situation,—one without meaning and devoid of sense, yet out of which no way seems possible,—God has sent His Judgment to answer yours. Gently His Judgment substitutes for yours. (A Course in Miracles, M-11.3:1-5)

The Holy Spirit shows us the difference between the real and the unreal. As we open to the true discernment of the Holy Spirit, we are shown the innocence behind the perceived guilty appearances. We are shown the Love behind the fear. We see mistaken beliefs as just calls for Love and nothing to be condemned. We are helped to rise above the battleground and see that only Love is real.

We are learning to remember that the Holy Spirit is our constant Companion. We are learning to let His judgment flow through us in order to be truly helpful. As we learn to rely on the Holy Spirit’s judgment, we find peace.
