Choosing Simple, Uncomplicated Love

Today our practice is to stay in the present moment and align with simple, uncomplicated Love. We remember that we do not know anything on our own and stay open to inspiration from the Holy Spirit. Love will always guide us to be truly helpful in each moment.

If we find ourselves wandering in the wilderness of ego thoughts, we notice it and return to following the lead of simple, uncomplicated Love. We take a deep breath and relax. We ask for Holy Spirit’s help. We trust in God’s strength, not our own. We let go of the past and future and focus on Love’s guidance in the present moment.

Remembering Our True Reality

I am God’s Son, complete and healed and whole, shining in the reflection of His Love. In me is His creation sanctified and guaranteed eternal life. In me is love perfected, fear impossible, and joy established without opposite. I am the holy home of God Himself. I am the Heaven where His Love resides. I am His holy Sinlessness Itself, for in my purity abides His Own. (A Course in Miracles, W-pII.14:1)

Because God is Love and nothing else, His creation must be Love and nothing else. To remember our true Reality means to remember we are Love and nothing else. This is what it means to be God’s Son.

The body is a false image and when we believe we are a body, we believe we are a false image which denies our true Reality. Fortunately we can change what we believe. A Course in Miracles provides a guide to help us change what we believe and welcome truth back into our awareness. There is really only one thing we must do. We must forgive — let go of — all of our identifications and belief in the false images of the dream of separation.

Forgiveness is our only function. As we withdraw the values we have given the images of the world and accept their meaninglessness, the Love that we are fills our minds and hearts. Because it is the nature of Love to eternally extend Itself, the Love in our hearts overflows and embraces the Love in all things. As God’s one Son, we are joined in Love with our Source and all creation. We remember our true Reality.

Let Go and Let God Bring Us Happiness

…search for [the Holy Spirit] within your mind. Salvation comes from this one Self through Him Who is the Bridge between your mind and It. Wait patiently, and let Him speak to you about your Self, and what your mind can do, restored to It and free to serve Its Will.

Then seek Its Thoughts, and claim them as your own. These are your own real thoughts you have denied, and let your mind go wandering in a world of dreams, to find illusions in their place.

Every time you spend five minutes of the hour seeking Him Who joins your mind and Self, you offer Him another treasure to be kept for you.

And all of it is given everyone who asks for it, and will accept the gift. Think, then, how much is given unto you to give this day, that it be given you! (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.96.8:2-4;9:4-5;11:5;12:2-3)

We want to be free of false ideas that cause us guilt, pain and suffering. We want to free ourselves from the limiting belief that we are separate from our Source of all happiness. We want to let go of our belief that we have changed ourselves from what God created us to be. We want to let go and let God be in charge of our mind.

We do this by stepping back from the constant flow of ego thoughts that continuously run in our mind. We do this by giving time to the Holy Spirit to let our thoughts be healed. We do this by inviting in the Light of the Holy Spirit to shine away all thoughts that do not come from God’s eternal Love.

The Holy Spirit is ever present in our minds all through the day, eagerly waiting to shower us with gifts of peace, joy and everlasting happiness. Today we make it our highest priority to let go and let God throughout the day that we may receive the blessings that come from our Source and share these blessings with everyone. It is worth the effort to consistently let go and let God all through the day.

Living in Happiness and Peace

When we let Love guide all our seeing, we live in perfect harmony and peace. Conflict is impossible in Love. Love does not condemn, and so there is no judgment in Love. Our true nature is Love. So to live in freedom from judgment, in harmony and peace, we need only accept What we are.

Judgment is a denial of What we are. Forgiveness lets go of Self denial and clears the way for us to remember the Love we are. We dedicate today to seeing with the eyes of Love, that we may experience Love’s happiness and peace.

Accepting Peace of Mind

Today let us make accepting peace of mind our highest priority. This means accepting Holy Spirit’s true perception regarding every circumstance. True perception is there waiting for us every moment of the day.

Today we practice with vigilance opening to Holy Spirit’s true perception again and again. We are frequently willing to take little “timeouts” from our busy day and just bathe in the peaceful waters of true perception… taking these little timeouts helps us ‘lighten up’ and returns us to our natural state of happiness and inner peace… What we need to know is brought to our awareness… Remembering that kindness, gentleness and that we are all Love shows us the pathway Home.

We let today be a day of pure joy as we accept Holy Spirit’s eternal peace of mind.

Sharing Perception with the Holy Spirit

Joining with [Holy Spirit] in seeing is the way in which you learn to share with Him the interpretation of perception that leads to knowledge. You cannot see alone. Sharing perception with Him Whom God has given you teaches you how to recognize what you see. It is the recognition that nothing you see means anything alone. …God has one purpose which He shares with you. The single vision which the Holy Spirit offers you will bring this oneness to your mind with clarity and brightness so intense you could not wish, for all the world, not to accept what God would have you have. (A Course in Miracles, T-14.VII.7:1-4,6-7)

Today let us remember that we have our constant Holy Companion in our mind, waiting to share His perception with us. We join with Holy Spirit all through the day, receiving His calm and loving vision of Christ. We are willing to accept His interpretation of everything we think of or look upon.

We relax and let the Holy Spirit carry us through the day… We let ourselves feel His peace and contentment… We let the Holy Spirit help us see past differences to the truth of Love’s oneness… We are filled with gratitude to have such a wonderful Helper and Friend to guide us through all the circumstances we encounter each day.

Accepting All Encompassing Oneness

…separation is the source of guilt, and to appeal to [separation] for salvation is to believe you are alone. To be alone is to be guilty. For to experience yourself as alone is to deny the Oneness of the Father and His Son, and thus to attack reality. (A Course in Miracles, T-15.V.2:5-7)

To want to have a unique identity with private thoughts we would keep as our own is to want separation. To want separation is to want guilt. Guilt is attractive because it reinforces the isolation of separation. It is the principal means the ego uses to hold belief in separation in place in our minds.

While we choose to maintain a separate identity, we cannot experience Love’s oneness. We cannot experience peace. We cannot experience the joy of God. Thankfully we have the means in our mind to step away from the mistaken idea that separation offers us anything of value.

As we practice being vigilant for every thought of littleness, of uniqueness, of separation, and bringing those thoughts with an open mind to the Holy Spirit, His Light will shine away the false ideas and reveal the all encompassing oneness of God’s Love. This practice is the practice of forgiveness. It is how we accept all encompassing Oneness.
