Setting Ourselves Free to Be Love

Christ’s Second Coming gives the Son of God this gift: to hear the Voice for God proclaim that what is false is false, and what is true has never changed. ²And this the judgment is in which perception ends. ³At first you see a world that has accepted this as true, projected from a now corrected mind. ⁴And with this holy sight, perception gives a silent blessing and then disappears, its goal accomplished and its mission done.

The final judgment on the world contains no condemnation. ²For it sees the world as totally forgiven, without sin and wholly purposeless. ³Without a cause, and now without a function in Christ’s sight, it merely slips away to nothingness. ⁴There it was born, and there it ends as well. ⁵And all the figures in the dream in which the world began go with it. ⁶Bodies now are useless, and will therefore fade away, because the Son of God is limitless.

This is God’s Final Judgment: “You are still My holy Son, forever innocent, forever loving and forever loved, as limitless as your Creator, and completely changeless and forever pure. ²Therefore awaken and return to Me. ³I am your Father and you are My Son.” (A Course in Miracles, W-pII.10.1–2;5)

The body is an anchor that holds us in the ego’s dream of separation. It holds us in a seeming existence of pain, lack, loss, fear and guilt. This dream is based on an impossible premise that the Will of God could be successfully opposed.

Forgiveness is how we can let go of the anchor that holds us in an impossible dream. We have been given Help by our Father to set ourselves free. The ego teaches that we are alone. The Today we ask His help to transform our perceptions so that we may see a forgiven world where Love is recognized as our only Reality.

Our Heart’s Desire Is to Be Love

I let forgiveness rest upon all things, for thus forgiveness will be given me.

I thank You, Father, for Your plan to save me from the hell I made. ²It is not real. ³And You have given me the means to prove its unreality to me. ⁴The key is in my hand, and I have reached the door beyond which lies the end of dreams. ⁵I stand before the gate of Heaven, wondering if I should enter in and be at home. ⁶Let me not wait again today. ⁷Let me forgive all things, and let creation be as You would have it be and as it is. ⁸Let me remember that I am Your Son, and opening the door at last, forget illusions in the blazing light of truth, as memory of You returns to me.

Brother, forgive me now. ²I come to you to take you home with me. ³And as we go, the world goes with us on our way to God. (A Course in Miracles, W-342. See also ACIM Lesson 342 Insights.)

Specialness is an attempt to limit Love. The dream of individuality and differences is an expression of the ego’s wish for specialness. It is a grievance against God’s unwillingness to change the oneness of His Love. The way to wake up from this dream is to forgive our identification with the ego.

Our heart’s desire is to unite with the Love that is everywhere. When we let Christ’s vision show us the radiance of the Love in every brother, our heart sings with the joy of reunion with our true Self. We rest in the peace of God.

Letting Love Brighten Our World

All fear is past and only love is here.

All fear is past, because its source is gone, and all its thoughts gone with it. ²Love remains the only present state, whose Source is here forever and forever. ³Can the world seem bright and clear and safe and welcoming, with all my past mistakes oppressing it, and showing me distorted forms of fear? ⁴Yet in the present love is obvious, and its effects apparent. ⁵All the world shines in reflection of its holy light, and I perceive a world forgiven at last.

Father, let not Your holy world escape my sight today. ²Nor let my ears be deaf to all the hymns of gratitude the world is singing underneath the sounds of fear. ³There is a real world which the present holds safe from all past mistakes. ⁴And I would see only this world before my eyes today. All our fears depend on memories of a past that does not exist in the present. The ego hangs on to these ‘memories’ of imagined events to build fearful stories about what might happen in the future. Meanwhile the ego is unaware of the peace and joy that is the reality of the present. The ego’s seeming existence depends on denying the present.

Today we turn our attention to the present moment. We still our mind and let our true Self show us the Love that unites us with our Father. We rest in His peace, knowing that we remain safe in His eternal Presence. The Light of Love brightens our world. We are grateful to remember that we Live in His Love.

Accepting Our Self That Is Only Love

I will accept Atonement for myself.

Here is the end of choice. ²For here we come to a decision to accept ourselves as God created us. ³And what is choice except uncertainty of what we are? ⁴There is no doubt that is not rooted here. ⁵There is no question but reflects this one. ⁶There is no conflict that does not entail the single, simple question, “What am I?”

Yet who could ask this question except one who has refused to recognize himself?

Nothing the world believes is true. ²It is a place whose purpose is to be a home where those who claim they do not know themselves can come to question what it is they are. ³And they will come again until the time Atonement is accepted, and they learn it is impossible to doubt yourself, and not to be aware of what you are.

Only acceptance can be asked of you, for what you are is certain.

…our mission is:

³I will accept Atonement for myself, for I remain as God created me.

⁴We have not lost the knowledge that God gave to us when He created us like Him. ⁵We can remember it for everyone, for in creation are all minds as one. (A Course in Miracles, W-139.1:1–2:1;7:1–8:1;11:2-5. See also ACIM Lesson 139 Insights.)

Because only Love is real, Atonement could be described as our acceptance of perfect Love as our Identity. This acceptance means that we have forgiven all our mistaken beliefs that denied the oneness of Love.

Instead of identifying with a body, we accept the Self God created out of His Love. We no longer see any brother as separate from the one Self we share as God’s one Son. We know that we are united with everyone in Love. We joyously identify with the eternal giving and receiving of Love.

God Gives His Gifts Without Limit

The stillness of the peace of God is mine.

Perhaps we are now ready for a day of undisturbed tranquility. ²If this is not yet feasible, we are content and even more than satisfied to learn how such a day can be achieved. ³If we give way to a disturbance, let us learn how to dismiss it and return to peace. ⁴We need but tell our minds, with certainty, “The stillness of the peace of God is mine,” and nothing can intrude upon the peace that God Himself has given to His Son.

Father, Your peace is mine. ²What need have I to fear that anything can rob me of what You would have me keep? ³I cannot lose Your gifts to me. ⁴And so the peace You gave Your Son is with me still, in quietness and in my own eternal love for You. God always gives His gifts without limit. They never have an expiration date. The peace and Love He has given us, His Son, can never be lost. It only feels like we have lost them because of our denial. The ego denies all of God’s gifts because it is the wish to keep something to itself alone.

We dedicate this day to remembering our unbroken connection with our Father. We remind ourselves throughout the day that His peace is still within us. Should anything disturb our peace, we affirm, “The stillness of the peace of God is mine.”

Awakening to Our Life in Love

You are your brother’s savior. ²He is yours. ³Reason speaks happily indeed of this. ⁴This gracious plan was given love by Love. ⁵And what Love plans is like Itself in this: Being united, It would have you learn what you must be. ⁶And being one with It, it must be given you to give what It has given, and gives still. ⁷Spend but an instant in the glad acceptance of what is given you to give your brother, and learn with him what has been given both of you. ⁸To give is no more blessed than to receive. ⁹But neither is it less.

The Son of God is always blessed as one. ²And as his gratitude goes out to you who blessed him, reason will tell you that it cannot be you stand apart from blessing. ³The gratitude he offers you reminds you of the thanks your Father gives you for completing Him. ⁴And here alone does reason tell you that you can understand what you must be. ⁵Your Father is as close to you as is your brother. ⁶Yet what is there that could be nearer you than is your Self? Denial of our oneness in Love is the foundation of all our perceived problems. It is the lynchpin that holds the ego’s thought system of separation together. When we fully accept our unity with every brother and our Creator, the ego falls apart, disappearing into the nothingness from which it came.

When we embrace the Love that is the truth in every brother, we feel Love’s blessing. Limits on love we perceived give way to the joyous giving and receiving of Love. Loneliness is replaced by unlimited communion with our one Self. We awaken to the Life we live in Love.

Uniting with Creation in Love’s Oneness

In quiet I receive God’s Word today.

Let this day be a day of stillness and of quiet listening. ²Your Father wills you hear His Word today. ³He calls to you from deep within your mind where He abides. ⁴Hear Him today. ⁵No peace is possible until His Word is heard around the world; until your mind, in quiet listening, accepts the message that the world must hear to usher in the quiet time of peace.

This world will change through you. ²No other means can save it, for God’s plan is simply this: The Son of God is free to save himself, given the Word of God to be his Guide, forever in his mind and at his side to lead him surely to his Father’s house by his own will, forever free as God’s. ³He is not led by force, but only love. ⁴He is not judged, but only sanctified.

In stillness we will hear God’s Voice today without intrusion of our petty thoughts, without our personal desires, and without all judgment of His holy Word. ²We will not judge ourselves today, for what we are can not be judged. The Course tells us not to seek to change the world, but to instead to change our mind about the world. This is because the world we see is a projection of our beliefs. Change our beliefs and the world we perceive will change.

Forgiveness is the way we release our mistaken beliefs to be replaced by the oneness of Love, which is all that is real. The Truth calls to us from the Voice within our mind. It is the call of Love to let Love be. This is our will, which we share with our Father.

We welcome this Voice by going to the quiet place of peace in our mind. From this peace we are led to recognize the Presence of Love in which we live. Here we see every brother as part of our one Self, forever united in the holiness of our Father.
