Welcoming Holy Spirit’s Interpretation

Accept His Word for what you are, for He bears witness to your beautiful creation, and the Mind Whose Thought created your reality. …Let Him be Judge as well of everything that seems to happen to you in this world. His lessons will enable you to bridge the gap between illusions and the truth.

…He will reinterpret all you see, and all occurrences, each circumstance, and every happening that seems to touch on you in any way from His one frame of reference, wholly unified and sure. And you will see the love beyond the hate, the constancy in change, the pure in sin, and only Heaven’s blessing on the world. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.151.9:2,6-7;11:2-3)

The Course is teaching us to not to believe or give any meaning to anything the body’s senses show us. We are asked to resign as our own interpreter and let the Holy Spirit interpret all things on our behalf. This seems difficult to do in our daily life experience. We have conditioned ourselves well to instantly interpret everything in the world.

Yet this is only a habit which can be changed. What makes it seem difficult is simply unwillingness. It seems like loss of control to give up being the interpreter. But it is the ego that is seeking this control, not the truth of what we are.

We are being taught that withdrawing from our identification with the ego makes way for our true Will that we share with God to be in charge. It is making way for perfect happiness and Heaven’s blessing on the world.

Today our practice is to frequently remind ourselves that we want to see with Christ’s vision. We want to see past the images of the world and accept Holy Spirit’s interpretation. We want to remember our Self. We want to remember Love.
