Teach Me How Not to Make of This an Obstacle to Peace

This is my favorite and oft-used prayer from ACIM:

Take this from me and look upon it, judging it for me. Let me not see it as a sign of sin and death, nor use it for destruction. Teach me how not to make of it an obstacle to peace. But let You use it for me, to facilitate its coming. (T-19.IV.C.11:8-10)

Trusting the Starting Point

What is the starting point? My understanding is that what we really are is what we have always been and never changes. It is indestructible, unchangeable and will always be. Because it is so profound, it is difficult to put a label on it, but some that work for me are Basic Goodness, Infinite Awareness, Unlimited Consciousness, Boundless Joy and, of course, just plain old perfect… Simple Love.

Lesson 84 — Love Created Me Like Itself

How the Miracle Heals All Appearances

There is only one Power — God’s all-encompassing Love. Anytime we see or feel anything other than this, we are believing in illusions. God’s Love is eternally changeless, just like our holy Self. Jesus’ message is uncompromising. In order to bring about consistent miracles, we must cultivate a single-minded conviction in only ‘one’ Power — God’s Love. While we still retain our belief in a hierarchy of illusions, we will reject knowing and demonstrating that there is no order of difficulty in miracles.

Guilty… NO!  I AM… YES!

In the dream of separation, Linda, the dreamer has been hypnotized by messages constantly bombarding her and filled with fearful stories of sickness, sin, and death. Until becoming ACIM student, she wasn’t taught to even question the messages and asking whether they were true. She didn’t know she had within her an Inner Teacher that was the Voice of Truth and Wisdom, the Voice for God. She didn’t know she could go within at any time and ask her Inner Teacher, the Holy Spirit, to help her sort out what was real from what was a made up story. Until she learned to trust this Voice, she was lost in a dream of terror and guilt, and in stories of pain, sickness and suffering.

Feet First

Sometimes I feel guilt around the fact that, even though in my heart I want to be healed, and I do put some effort into remembering I am free, I don’t make as much effort as I should; I don’t remember the truth as often as “I would like” and I despair that I’m getting nowhere closer to any healing. Then something happens that shows that Holy Spirit knows that there is willingness in my heart and that no effort is ever wasted.
