Wholly awake I Am.
In the arms of my
Father, I reside.
Yet in dreams I wander. Lost, alone, and afraid. Searching for what was never lost.
Yearning for a Home I never left.

I ran to You so fast and hard,
I couldn’t catch my breath.
I threw myself on You and
told You a story of demons.

In silence I return.
I need this breath of Love.
I choose silence.
I choose this breath of Love.
Spirit with me now…
The Presence of Love enters…

I was at Pathways of Light this past weekend for a workshop with Regina Dawn Akers and Laurent Elie Levy. It was a very inspiring workshop and I felt my heart open to their teachings. Regina is the scribe for The Holy Spirit’s Interpretation of the New Testament. I study this scripture as I do A Course in Miracles. It was wonderful to hear Regina and Laurent teaching from it, but it was equally wonderful to share this experience with the others who came to the workshop.

Introduction: Gary Renard underwent a powerful spiritual awakening in the early 1990s. As instructed by two ascended masters who appeared to him in the flesh, he wrote his first best-selling book, The Disappearance of the Universe, over a period of nine years. He was later guided to speak in public and has recently been described as one of the most interesting and courageous spiritual speakers in the world. Gary’s second book, Your Immortal Reality, was also a best-seller.
Over the past five years, Gary has spoken in 40 states, 13 countries, and was the keynote speaker at the International A Course In Miracles Conference in Salt Lake City and San Francisco. He is also the most recent recipient of the Infinity Foundation Spirit Award. The award is given to a person who has made a meaningful contribution to personal and spiritual growth. Past recipients include Dan Millman, Ram Dass, Gary Zukav, James Redfield, and Neale Donald Walsch.

Since I have been a student of A Course in Miracles (ACIM), I have noticed there is some disagreement about whether Holy Spirit provides guidance in the world or not. I can only speak from my experience, but my experience has taught me, “Yes, Holy Spirit provides specific guidance in the world.”
Some students of ACIM may ask, “Why would Holy Spirit provide guidance in the world when the world is not real?”

Holy Spirit, speak to me about how A Course in Miracles says, “The world is not left by death, but by truth … “ (T-3, VII. 6:11)
Beyond the body is an illusion of peace, but peace will not be found here while your mind is ransacking itself. No mind without God can envision a beyond the body experience. God will appear to enter your illusion upon death and afterwards; in reality there is no place to enter. Upon death’s entrance into your life in this world, nothing changes unless you decide otherwise. Your mind does not need your current version of your body to have cause and effect.

We all are conscious that we have needs, needs that perhaps are not yet fulfilled and ones that are. And we don’t want to lose those things that we have so far acquired do we? Unconsciously we set up expectations and strategies that the ego uses to protect and defend them. Realizing this you can ask then, what are your perceived needs? Do they include increased income, a home, an experience, to be a parent, more love, family, status or approval?
It’s not until we’ve arrived at a point of trust in the Holy Spirit that we can begin to see that there exists an illusion of needs and truly understand why this is so. Until then, we resist the idea that any perceived need (other than forgiveness and waking up) is not real.

I shouldn’t be surprised when I catch myself making plans again. I seem to wax and wane in terms of allowing Spirit to show me what to do and planning on my own.
I can make plans in my mind all day and not even be aware of what I’m doing. I am surprised by this but I accept it. I’m surprised because when I can see clearly, I gladly give up my ideas and patiently know I will be told what to do. I feel so happy when I do this and I think I’ll never resort to planning on my own again but I seem to continue to take a detour into illusions.

There is a young woman I do not like. I find it disturbing because usually I would say there is this particular thing about this person I do not like and from there I work with it until whatever it is in me has been forgiven. But I could only look with dislike on this person and be very uncomfortable.
I finally mentioned it to a couple of people hoping something would pop up. I know I am projecting. That I recognize something in her can only mean that I am familiar with it. Either I have done it before and failed to forgive it in myself or I do it now and am repulsed by my own behavior and so try to get rid of it by tossing it onto her.

Having recently finished my ordination courses and having been a student of ACIM for years, I know full well that the practice of asking Holy Spirit for guidance in every concern or problem that I have is the path for receiving miracles. That being acknowledged, when it comes to life’s greatest challenges, my strongest tendency is to believe that if I don’t fix the problem it won’t get fixed. I need results.
As the parent of a 25 year old drug addict, I feel like I have been in a battle with a powerful, fiendish demon using only prayer and meditation as my weapons. I am taught that my safety lies in my defenselessness.

There is an edge for me. It is an edge where I know that Heaven is real to me. And when I know that Heaven is real, all is well, everywhere. To me, this is like experiencing Heaven on earth. The memory keeps me returning. It is a spiritual practice and it feels like it is the essence of my ministry.
In writing my morning pages today, I came upon the quote, “Creativity is a spiritual practice. It is not something that can be perfected, finished and set aside.” (Julia Cameron, p. 182, The Artist’s Way) As I came upon this quote, I had just been writing and reflecting on how important it is for me to stay connected to my ministry on a daily basis.

I come to peace
I come to Love
and
I know
This is Holy Spirit’s purpose for me
and
I feel the power of Holy Spirit
I feel the power of Presence
I feel the power of Love
and
I know that I am Home.

I recently had an Accessing Inner Wisdom Counseling from one of our newly ordained ministers. In the counseling what came up was the fact that I feel unworthy and not beautiful because of being overweight. The new focus that came from the counseling was that Holy Spirit told me to sit every morning and write about beauty. He said that as I do this daily, I will be reminded that when I see the beauty in others, I am really seeing it in myself, as we are One. So on Easter morning I sat and wrote. This is what came to me:

A few months ago we received the guidance that it would be in the best interest of everyone if we would move Pathways of Light to Florida. At first we resisted because we are so comfortable here, but as we let go of our own ideas, we remembered that only God’s plan would ever make us truly happy.
The last few months have been filled with letting go of stuff that no longer serves us and preparing the buildings here to be in good condition for the next organization or family who is guided to live here. Because the residence is 50 years old, there has been much to do here to prepare it for its next residents. So far we are about two-thirds of the way finished with the renovation, including replastering, painting, recarpeting and completely redoing the kitchen and bathrooms.
