Forgiving Words

Forgiving is a word that many of our egos grab hold of and analyze. First, our ego questions whether forgiveness for the act we judged as “wrong” is even deserved.  If our egoic self does allow it to be “granted”, it then (perhaps subconsciously) interprets it as something we are graciously giving to someone else even though the act they (supposedly) did is not really worthy of our forgiveness.  And, deep within, if we are honest, we know we have not truly forgiven the person for that act we judged as “wrong.”  We know this because when we think of that person, the same act comes into our consciousness and we are not at peace.

Don’t look too close… it’s rather gross
and just might make you cry.

I made up a story to give myself glory
to get me to believe that all I tell
will keep me from hell.

This plan I did conceive!
I create confusion by projecting illusion.

Prison Ministry

My name is Joe Wolfe, founder of Spirit Light Outreach, an effort that continually delivers A Course in Miracles and related books to prisoners. I’m also an ex-prisoner and soon to be ordained into the Pathways of Light Ministry in January.

For over ten years now prisoners from all over the country have been writing to request some of the books I make available to them. Many of these prisoners have displayed remarkable changes in their perception and have expressed genuine gratitude for having been extended the helping hands that offer the Hope, Love, Light and the Peace of God that they so desperately seek.

Because of these efforts some prison administrations have begun to allow “A Course in Miracles groups” and prisoner gatherings to exist and continue. What has also continued is an over-whelming viral effect; prisoners sharing the books with other prisoners and more and more requests pouring in every single day!

A Reflection of Ideas, Parts 1 & 2

Part 1

For a long time now I have accepted that I am 100% responsible for my life, and then I realized I was 100% responsible for the world. I understand that if I am aware of something, it is there because I desire it to be there. I can find endless quotes from all the sections of the Course that tell me I do this to myself. For a long time, even though I knew it must be true, I was resistant to it because it made me feel guilty to think about it. As I began to let go of the belief that guilt is real, I could see that responsibility did not imply guilt, and then I started receiving more clarity.

What It Means to Be a Minister of God

Ten years ago, this coming May, I was ordained as a Minster from Pathways of Light. When I came home from a wonderful week that led to ordination, I was very excited. But soon, I experienced a let down. I also got physically sick and frightened. How was I supposed to minister; what was I supposed to do? Nothing was happening. The ego always wants to think in terms of “doing” in the world. To the ego, its value and worth comes from “doing” and getting accolades from others.

But, one thing I always learned at Pathways and from ACIM is to trust Holy Spirit’s guidance and put Holy Spirit in charge. Holy Spirit, the Voice for God, will show us what to do, where to go, what to say and to whom.
