I am Love, Peace and Joy

Sometimes I compare myself with others and it makes me feel so small. This morning was one of those times. I woke up feeling: I’m not pretty enough, slim enough, monetarily endowed enough. When I compare myself with others I always feel unlovable. I took this to Holy Spirit for correction today and here is what I received:

My Meditation in the Garden of Gethsemane

I thought I knew the reason that I found myself going on a spiritual retreat to Jerusalem over Easter weekend. The lead spiritual teacher on the retreat, Nouk Sanchez, had written a book, The End of Death: The Deeper Teachings of A Course in Miracles. I had lost my son, Kevin, to a heroin overdose in the same year that Nouk had lost her soul partner, Tomas, in 2010. I believed there was more for me to learn from Nouk on the topic of physical death. I also desired to see the Holy Land during the holidays of Easter and Passover with my wife, Lulu.

3 Step Grievance Process — The Source of Our Suffering

In lesson 71, the Course assures that ‘Only God’s Plan’ for salvation will work. This is good news as it means there is a plan. It is not of me so I don’t have to worry about constructing it. It will work and Holy Spirit will help me …all of the time. However, this same lesson also says that ego has a plan for our salvation which involves getting us to buy into “Grievances.”

The One About Truth

In A Course in Miracles, Text, Chapter 14, Section XI, perhaps the key point Jesus is trying to get across to us (to me) is introduced in the first sentence of the section:

“Yet the essential thing is learning that you do not know.” (T-14.XI.1:1)

What don’t I know? As I was studying this section, I noticed the feeling of ‘being attacked’ was in my mind, which I didn’t like.

I Finally Get It

Today I am full of thought. The bible study I am working on, the sermon yesterday in church and A Course in Miracles studies all stirred up a lot of emotion. “Not a coincidence” Holy Spirit assures me.

When we were kids, we were always told to “be good” and sometimes to “behave or else,” but we were never helped by adults to change our mental, spiritual or emotional behavior patterns.

Walking with Graceful Intention

The Spiritual Law of Intention dictates that Universal energies support a person’s intention, as it is the basis of manifestation in the physical. Within this law, it is best to invoke the sacred intention to set the stage at the beginning of new activity. The intensity of this intention to grow, become one with; it is what leads to the attunement of vibration with Spirit:

“Intention is our focus for creating that change within ourselves and our environment.”
