Understanding Forgiveness

Forgiveness is probably the most important spiritual lesson for many reasons, one of which is that our lives depend on it.

To truly forgive we need to understand the why’s and how’s of how it works. As with any fix-it project, the most important factor, after the decision to repair something, is to use the right tools. Without the proper tools, all the determination in the world usually results in little change. We are fortunate to have these tools today. I wish I’d had them at 16. I wish I’d had them at 30 when I was blaming the world for my problems. I wish I’d used them yesterday when I felt slighted by one of God’s children, and condemned him in my mind.

A Lesson from the Holy Spirit

The last ten months of 2012 have been very challenging in my life. I had a lumbar fusion in March of 2012 and another one which was an emergency in August of 2012. I thought I was finally on the upswing of mending this physical body when in October I slipped and fell and broke my leg. Up until this event I knew that the Holy Spirit was guiding me back to health. In fact, the Holy Spirit and I were partners for many years in healing mind, body and spirit. I was doing my part and the ability of the billions of cells in this miracle body of mine was doing the rest.

All Is Well in God’s Hands

I have a flooring business to earn money in this earthly illusion. One of my customers had some water damage so she called me on a Thursday and I went to her house to correct the problem. I removed the wet pad and propped up the carpet so the fans could dry the floor and carpet. I got a strong message that I should come back on the following Monday to finish the repair.

Relax and Row, Row Your Boat, Gently…

These are two suggestions that Robert and Mary seem to repeat often and every time they do, my Inner Guide says something like, ‘there it is again… just listen.’

This suggestion, after decades of study and practice of ACIM, reading anything else related I could get my hands on, a nearly graduate degree in Buddhist Philosophy and the rest… surely I should be closer to enlightenment now than when I started, as all of these things create a deeper and deeper perspective and wow, some amazing teachers, etc.
