Holy Spirit Is in Charge of Everything

I would like to share with you my experience in facilitating Pathways of Light’s Spiritual Awakening 8-week program.

I have facilitated this program numerous times throughout the years since I was ordained in Kiel.

I facilitate my student on Skype. We were in week 7 of the program which is titled: Building Your House of Light — Making Every Moment an Empowering Experience.

We worked our way through these three steps:

1. Connecting with Inner Guidance

2. What I am Learning

3. Self Awakening Meditation.

Everything was very meaningful to my student — she thoroughly enjoys this program, experiencing wonderful results.

We got to step four: Reading and Discussion of Seeing Through the Eyes of Love. We read along, two paragraphs at a time — discussing and sharing. The sharing was very meaningful for both of us. A lot of “ah ha’s” were experienced. When we came to the end of that section, in the left hand column was a facilitator’s note to ask: “What thoughts came to you as you read this?” I told her to take a few moments to reread the material and think about what she read before answering step five: Discussion Questions.

During the time we were quiet, my mind traveled back to my early 30’s. My son, Matthew, was not even one year old. It was Christmas Eve. My mother and father were waiting for my husband to pick them up to come to our house to open gifts and be back in time for them to go to Midnight Mass at St. Joseph’s Church in Union City, New Jersey. Matthew had a temperature of 103 I was working with, it was snowing out, blah, blah, blah…. My mother called one more time. She was insulted, hurt, shouting, etc. I never ever had even a thought of answering my mother back. I just listened.

Back to the other night: During the time we were quiet, my mind went to the occurrence. I saw myself handing a golden brick to my mother. She was silent, taking the golden brick from me and clutching it. I saw the entire occurrence “poof” into dust going upward.

I thought I had released that many years ago. My release occurred on May 27th, 2014 during the Spiritual Awakening session. Thank You, Holy Spirit. My student and I had a wonderful conversation on her part and I shared on my part. It’s never too late. An opportunity will always come round again to bring peace and Love to any situation.

My student is anxious to move on to the Healing Inner Child 8-week Program. I usually recommend a two week interval. What? Two weeks? No, I want to begin Healing Inner Child on the week after I complete the Spiritual Awakening Program. “Okay, then,” I answered.

I presently have students in both of Pathways’ 8-week programs — on Skype one-on-one, on the phone one-on-one, in person one-on-one, and I am setting up a phone teleconference for several students at one time. It all works the way it is supposed to. The instructions are clear on how to do all of this. Holy Spirit is in charge of everything, for which I am eternally grateful.

I am Love, Peace and Joy

Sometimes I compare myself with others and it makes me feel so small. This morning was one of those times. I woke up feeling: I’m not pretty enough, slim enough, monetarily endowed enough. When I compare myself with others I always feel unlovable. I took this to Holy Spirit for correction today and here is what I received:

You do not need to seek love from the distorted mind. Seeking love from the distorted mind always leads to dissatisfaction because that is the thought process that got you believing you were unlovable in the first place.

Love is not about how much money you have so you can buy love. It is not about being beautiful to look at so others can hold you as an ideal. When you entered the earth as a body, those were the images you thought would make you special and therefore Godlike in your own mind.

As you heal those thoughts, those images lose their value. Nothing in the world of differences can compare to the Love of God. Open your mind and receive true Love. The Love of God is changeless, never ending and without circumstance.

You are an extension of God’s Love. That is the only Real Love there is and with that you will never need to compare yourself with anyone or anything again.

ACIM Workbook Lesson 118

Gods Peace and Joy are mine.

Today I will accept God’s peace and joy, in glad exchange for all the substitutes that I have made for happiness and peace.

Let me be still and listen to the truth.

Let my own feeble voice be still, and let me hear the mighty Voice for Truth Itself assure me that I am God’s perfect Son.

God’s peace and joy are mine.

Let me be still and listen to the truth. (W-pI.118.1-2)

This is the truth I seek. I am One with the Father and the entire Sonship. Love is extended through me to all world. I am peace, I am joy, I am Love.

My Meditation in the Garden of Gethsemane

I thought I knew the reason that I found myself going on a spiritual retreat to Jerusalem over Easter weekend. The lead spiritual teacher on the retreat, Nouk Sanchez, had written a book, The End of Death: The Deeper Teachings of A Course in Miracles. I had lost my son, Kevin, to a heroin overdose in the same year that Nouk had lost her soul partner, Tomas, in 2010. I believed there was more for me to learn from Nouk on the topic of physical death. I also desired to see the Holy Land during the holidays of Easter and Passover with my wife, Lulu.

Several weeks before our departure to Israel I began my study of The End of Death. It is a very serious study of the ACIM concept that there is no death really. The book includes exercises and visual charts designed to take one deeper into the experience of letting go of the ego’s most powerful illusion. I was well prepared to share my experience of these exercises and concepts. And I wanted to listen and learn from a spiritual teacher whom I have admired for years.

I was surprised and disappointed when Nouk explained that she would not be able to teach about her book. She had gone to Spirit several weeks earlier and was receiving guidance that this was a period of “emptying out” for her. She had no inclination to teach anything; she couldn’t even if she had wanted to. She prepared nothing for the 4-day workshop – no exercises, no charts, no lectures, no dialogue. She put the Holy Spirit in charge and let the retreat unfold on its own.

She did introduce another teacher, John Mark Stroud, whom she said was the clearest conduit for the Voice of Christ that she had ever experienced. In my perception, the voice of John Mark had replaced Nouk’s and my ego was not at all pleased. Maybe I just wasn’t ready for the voice of Jesus to have a Carolina accent. The ego raged in me.

The two days of the workshop before Easter Sunday was spent with many people sharing and enjoying each other in ways different than I expected. They exclaimed that this was more of a workshop “of the heart rather than the head.” Those words somehow rang empty in me, however. I felt that I had always experienced ACIM in the heart. And we weren’t talking about ACIM or the end of death — my supposed purpose in coming.

Easter Sunday marked a break in the workshop phase of this 12-day tour of Israel. We experienced a sunrise Easter mass at the Garden Tomb. Fantastic! In the afternoon our group had the Garden of Gethsemane all to ourselves for 40 minutes of individual prayer and meditation. I asked Holy Spirit to help me with my resentments about the workshop — particularly for the substitution of John Mark for Nouk as the primary voice.

For the first 35 minutes of my meditation my mind raced with a lawyer-like dissertation of why I feel the way I do. I was justifying all my ego beliefs by presenting my case to Jesus — here in the Garden of Gethsemane. As we came close to our estimated time of departure from the garden, I received a clear message. “What makes you think you need Nouk to teach you about the end of death? Haven’t I been there for you during this whole transformation since Kevin passed? Do you really think you need anyone or anything else to understand death?”

I was momentarily stunned. Of course I realize that Holy Spirit has carried me since Kevin’s death. I have experienced more love and kindness in my life than ever before. I have had Kevin’s spirit in my heart acting as a guiding angel. I can talk to him as if he is Holy Spirit’s lieutenant. I have had a most powerful relationship with Kevin since he passed from the physical world.

Then I heard Kevin’s voice with his famous tone of sarcasm say to me, “You’re not really going to take this guy (John Mark) seriously and let him ruin your experience here, are you? You know better than that. Allow him to be exactly as he is and let him help those that want his help.”

Within a minute I heard the voice of our tour director, Sam, gently waking me from my meditation. It was time to leave the garden. I realized immediately why I was to come to Jerusalem. I was being shown that I needed no spiritual leader, no guru, no one except Holy Spirit as my teacher. He will send me all I need. I just need to stay with Him.

And the rest of my journey in Israel was just wonderful. Thank you, Holy Spirit and Kevin. I recognize the important lesson here.
