Walking with Graceful Intention

The Spiritual Law of Intention dictates that Universal energies support a person’s intention, as it is the basis of manifestation in the physical. Within this law, it is best to invoke the sacred intention to set the stage at the beginning of new activity. The intensity of this intention to grow, become one with; it is what leads to the attunement of vibration with Spirit:

“Intention is our focus for creating that change within ourselves and our environment.”

In the Buddhist tradition, there are interesting classifications to describe the spiritual intentions that motivate practices, such as the conditioned cycle of birth and death, unconditional freedom from this cycle, and the highest type of motivation — enlightenment of Self for the benefit of all sentient beings.

Practice is doing. In all practices, of importance is the quality of one’s intention. Why? The Universe does not support what comes from ego, as these energies only support what is for the highest good of one and All. Think about a saying: “Strength and courage comes when the only direction you can walk is forward, straight through the middle, to the other side.”

This is a soul’s challenge… Its leap of faith. The wise will accept the challenge and start walking toward embracing the four tests one must successfully meet, with focused intention: The ability to silently walk in a straight line, overcome the feelings of fear and abandonment, reclaim the inner sense of knowledge, and find the strength to take the first free fall step in love and trust on this unconventional and profoundly sacred journey.

In a book, The Gift of a Rose, there is a story where a grandmother teaches her granddaughter about the gift of intuition, and the inherent responsibilities of accepting this spiritual gift.

“…Friends from early womanhood. This woman of First Nation — Cherokee decent — had taught her grandmother how to silently walk in a straight line. The woman’s direction was to always follow the intuition rather than to resist it. The understanding about growth and spiritual opening that she was trying to share in metaphor form was: It would be a continuous process requiring great personal discipline and strength. This process would be repeated over the span of this lifetime, as new challenges were experienced.” (- The Gift of a Rose, Healing the Soul, One Woman’s Journey of Truth & Spirit, 2010)

Connection to the Earth. With the focus on walking, attention is drawn to the significance of one’s feet. In holistic healing, the foot chakra is located in the middle of the sole of the feet. Be aware of the connection between the soles of feet and the earth and imagine the exchange of energy. When this energy center flows freely, there is a sense of being grounded and supported by the earth and, at the same time, becoming a living example of Heaven and Earth, in Human:

“One Gathers to Build Ten, and Infinite Forms Become Triads —“One” the ultimate reality, individualizes into beings that gather, or merge, and reform into higher beings. Throughout the process of individuation and gathering, or merging, each being, while developing unique traits, contains, within itself the original three basic elements of Heaven, Earth, and Human.”

“This principle of completion states that ‘when the three internal energy centers and four external energy centers form to create an integrated circulatory system, and when the Five Elements of Energy flow through the circulatory system composed of the seven Energy centers, the energy mechanism in the human body becomes complete as the trinity of Heaven and Earth in Human. This trinity of enlightened Self-realization exists in all of us.” (-Yon Su Ki, 1911/’The Chun Bu Kyung’)

This connection earth — foot chakras — root chakra (located at the base of the spine) is considered to be the best foundation for spiritual growth and good health. If fact, the condition of one’s health can be deduced from the state of the feet: Ancient cultures, such as Maya or in Indian Ayurveda, identified the best reflexology based “zones” are located in the feet for benefits of a therapeutic basis. In keeping with the spiritual law, “as above, so below,’ it has been described as the foot reflects the whole body.

By integrated example: The way to optimal health is straight, but it is also narrow. Recall the story about the grandmother and her friend, who had stated “silently and straight.” There is no excuse not to know the way, even without clear understanding, or ability to always live up to the highest and the best that is within … the way is known by true Self.

Becoming One with Everything. In the early stages of trying, the practices of learning to pray scientifically and the highest of all art forms — meditation — help one to think straight. Advanced practitioners will remember to give up selfishness and let Spirit’s guidance lead in all circumstances. Eventually, life is seen and felt as steady and flowing from within. This is the way to progress and strive to walk with Grace (Holy Spirit).

The feeling is of walking into a new now. To express the powerful efficacy of taking actions, in writing this article, thoughts return to the key elements in the Accessing Inner Wisdom Counseling. As presented in the teachings of A Course in Miracles, through this practice of joining with Holy Spirit, one would experience a turning point, have openness to a better way, observe fear (as a call for love) in partnership with Holy Spirit’s healing guidance, and then with this new perception from Spirit, fear is transformed to peace and joy.

What is learned by following Holy Spirit’s lead? The lesson is about seeing through the eyes of Christ, as love’s extension. It is the simple willingness to return to true identity:

“Step back in faith and let truth lead the way. You know not where you go. But One Who knows goes with you. Let Him lead you with the rest.”

“We walk to God. Pause and reflect on this. Could any way be holier, or more deserving of your effort, of your love and of your full intent? What way could give you more than everything, or offer less and still content the holy Son of God? We walk to God. The truth that walks before us now is one with Him, and leads us to where He has always been. What way but this could be a path that you would choose instead?” (A Course in Miracles W-pI.155.10:3-6,12)

Walking into the Sun. In the literal sense walking into the sun is a reflection of returning to Divine mind, and those whose original divinity shines like the sunlight bear heaven and earth inside of them making an integrative whole. Walking this path with sincerity and humbleness is what allows for the continued progress with health and wisdom. It needs to be done with proper attitude — as developed at the beginning by agreement to walk on the spiritual path, and then strengthened during growth and healing lessons:

•  The journey itself is the most natural   in experience in the world.

•  Believe worthiness of this experience.

•  It will all come quickly and easily.

•  Don’t work against …. Flow and continue   forward.

Even when outward conditions contradict, inwardly strive for harmony and balance. Remember, one becomes what is thought about. What is needed? Have enough self-respect to remove all the nonessential things from life, and here is the realization…

The purest and brightest light (understanding) of soul is not within one who leads from the front, but rather it shines from the quiet leader, who is able to follow others silently, always observing, always changing to embrace growth, and always perfecting the precious ability to listen in the silence and to be heard within its Circle of Healing Light Intention: “With the intention of honoring each person’s choice of receiving and to serve the highest good of everyone concerned, all prayers and healing energies offered within this Circle-of-Healing-Light are given freely and respectfully for those who have asked.”

Trusting and CoCreating Despite “Reality”

I am continually learning to discern which motivations in my life are ego-driven and which are from my Inner Wisdom meant to help me fulfill my soul’s purpose while in this body as Andrea Sassa Archuleta. Wow, that’s a mouthful!

“OK. Let’s start simple,” I tell myself, because as I sort out what I am talking about I can easily get jumbled and confused. Which is okay too, but, well, here we go…

For many years I have had a desire to have a family, which for me is a husband and children. During the majority of what is labeled a woman’s childbearing years, I was a single professional devoted to my career and did not marry until my mid-forties. (Oh, you hear it already don’t you, that biological clock!) When the tick-tock of forty struck, I explored options for single parenting, but my heart never attached to any of them. I learned though what “family” meant to me - children and a husband - and that is now very valuable to know.

My husband and I are now contemplating whether to create children ourselves or whether to adopt. Right here, in this choice, is where I get jumbled and confused. Why?... well, I know dreams manifest in commitment. I spend time thinking about how a commitment to creating our own children might conflict with a commitment to adopting children. I then think we have to know which we want more, choose that path definitively, and then set sail towards achieving it. (Did you see that ego-word ‘achieve’ jump in there?!)

What I eventually realize, through guidance from my Inner Wisdom, is that I do not want to choose between biological or adopted children. As you can imagine my ego jumps all over me for this, so much yummy fodder for its torment, all of the impossibilities to having both or either. You know the rants — “Starting a family at your age, biological or adopted, are you crazy, where are you going to get the energy for that?” Or, “Biological children, did I hear you correctly old lady, do you think you have super-woman ovaries? Get real!” And the most insidious torment is this, “Don’t break your own heart by believing in this concoction. You know you are just setting yourself up for a big let down. Be practical and rational about this; women your age don’t make their own babies and they shouldn’t adopt them either.” This last one, a version of the dream-strangling play-it-safe and take-the-secure-path ego belief system, is corrosive to staying in tune with my Inner Wisdom. So are the other rants. Realizing I have free-will, a choice, the decision I arrive at is this: 

I am trusting my Inner Wisdom. I am knowing our family is being created right now with our biological and adopted children.

I confidently place my trust here because I know I am Creation — part of It and a Co-Creator with It. If I placed my trust in any form of limitation or lack — we are too old, I am too old, don’t let your heart be broken by crazy dreams — I would be affirming separation and guilt, choosing sacrifice, and ultimately denying my Inner Wisdom, the Will of God. 

What is the Will of God, [my Inner Wisdom]? He wills His [Daughter] have everything. And this He guaranteed when He created [her] as everything. It is impossible that anything be lost, if what you have is what you are. This is the miracle by which creation became your function, sharing it with God. (T-26.VII.11:1-5) (Italics added, emphasis in original)  

God’s [Daughter] could never be content with less than full salvation and escape from guilt. For otherwise [s]he still demands that [s]he must make some sacrifice, and thus denies that everything is [hers], unlimited by loss of any kind. A tiny sacrifice is just the same in its effects as is the whole idea of sacrifice. If loss in any form is possible, then is God’s [Daughter] made incomplete and not [her]self. Nor will [s]he know [her]self, nor recognize [her] will. (T-26.V11.14:4-8). (Italics added)  

Choosing openness to Creation, I live in the richness and wonderment of hope-filled expectation. I choose not to embark upon the sacrificial path of self-crucifying grief, ruminating over what appears to be “reality,” because I know better. I know crucifixion in any form is nothing more than separation. Joyfully, I relinquish participating in the ego’s “reality” of data justifying beliefs in lack, medical constructs supporting beliefs in physical limitations, and any beliefs serving the ego’s goal of keeping me separate from the power of Co-Creation, the Will of God, and instead use the power I Am. 

To use the power God has given you as He would have it used is natural. It is not arrogant to be as He created you, nor to make use of what He gave to answer all His [Daughter’s] mistakes and set [her] free. But it is arrogant to lay aside the power that He gave, and choose a little senseless wish instead of what He wills. The gift of God to you is limitless. There is no circumstance it cannot answer, and no problem which is not resolved within its gracious light. (T-26.VII.18:1-5) (italics added)       

Through discernment I am trusting in a miracle, A Course in Miracles type miracle. The miracle on its face is creating a family with my husband. The manifestation of the children though is the effect of a healed cause, a cured mind, my healed mind. I create and then accept this healing by knowing that our family, whatever we will look like, is being created right now because I am trusting my Inner Wisdom, surrendering to the lead of gracious light, and “abid[ing] in peace, where God would have [me] be.” (T-26.VII.19:1)

God’s Gentle Strength

My reliance has been on the strength of my body. Yet I do not see its limitations unless I allow myself to be honest. I imagine I have free will and I exercise that in my choices of how to defend myself — never thinking that that is no real choice.

I check within and feel a rigidness that I seem to want, and I determine that it gives me the ability to adapt. Yet, it only holds me in place and I refuse to budge or flex/forgive as God would have me do.

My ego tells me I am small and I need to bow to others in order to be safe, sometimes, and other times he’ll tell me to be defiant and strong and stand up for what I think is right. But, I know neither of these choices are good ones for me because they demand that I defend myself. The ego either beats me down or builds me up falsely. God only holds up my Holiness and says: “There is another choice.”

I am not this ego. I am not a body. I am not small. I am as God created me … and now I choose that.

Will I be safe? Will I be happy? Will I receive all that I need? Will I be strong? Will I be loved? Will I deserve all that? God guarantees all that … and more.

His gentle Strength says, “Yes, my Child, I give you all that and hold you safe eternally.” And so I allow it!  I   a l l o w…  I claim His shining Peace; I accept that He loves me always.    … And so I rest in that.

Heaven or Hell, What’s Your Choice?

The body is nothing but a mistaken thought. A Course in Miracles says that it was a tiny mad idea that put us in hell, a dream world of separation from God, from Love. The problem is that when that thought came into our consciousness, we forgot to laugh at how insane this idea really was. In fact, we were tempted by this voice (thought) to make up a whole world, where the body was made to hide from God, who we believed would punish us for separating from Him. And so, fear of God replaced the memory of a loving Father who created us in innocence and perfection.

Is this scenario hard to wrap our minds around? Well, Linda wants to share an experience of how this came to be.

Back in the 1990’s when the mind body holistic movement seemed to gain notice in the dream, Linda attended a workshop where one of the experiential processes had her imagine what things were like in the womb before her seeming birth. Here is what came up. While she was floating in the warm, peaceful waters of the womb and felt safe and so at peace, she thought she heard a voice say to her: “If you choose to be born into a body, your life will be hell.”

This voice(idea) that came into her consciousness was loud and powerful. She had no idea what a body was or what hell meant. However, she was tempted and curious to listen to that voice and follow it. At this point, Linda’s mind had a choice; She could be born into a body or stay in Heaven, floating in the calm peaceful waters forever. In an instant tempted by this unfamiliar voice, the mind made a decision to see what it was like to be born into a body and what that experience would be like. And so Linda was birthed into a body.

However, during this imaginary experience in the womb, Linda suddenly experienced a new feeling called fear and wasn’t sure she made the right decision. However, she went ahead with it fearfully and quickly forgot she imagined the whole thing, just like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz forgot she imagined her dream world of Oz. She also forgot she made the decision to embody and that it was her choice.

Linda, in her decision, was willing to sacrifice the peace and Love of her Creator, her Holy Father, for hell just because she chose to embody and a world for that body to inhabit arose out of that decision. The voice in the womb told her that to embody would mean hell and she received what she believed from following that voice, that tiny mad idea. All this did happen in an instant in her imagination.

So, Linda embodied and like Dorothy, fell into a dream world called hell just like the voice (idea) said she would. A world filled with fear, a world filled with pain, a world filled with conflict, a world where the body ruled like a tyrant and its reward was death. Linda was so totally lost in the dream that she forgot it was a dream and she was the dreamer of the dream. Her belief that she was guilty for choosing to embody and separate from Her Creator brought her an experience of hell, a dream world of hell. She forgot it all started with a voice, an idea that arose in her powerful consciousness (mind) that said, your life will be hell if you embody.

But her loving Creator never separated from her and placed the Holy Spirit into her Mind so she would remember her way back to Him out of the hellish dream she made out of guilt.

Linda’s hell became terrifying with tremendous pain and one day in great despair she cried out, “Help me.” That was the prayer her Holy Spirit of Love was waiting to hear, the invitation to enter the dream and help Linda awaken and return to her Father’s Home in Heaven, where she was floating in peace and Love before she heard that voice.

As soon as Linda asked for help, she received it and Linda, as she learns to trust that Voice and not give into temptation of the voice that wants to keep her in this dream of hell, is gradually awakening and remembering her Home in Heaven, a state of innocence and peace. Linda is remembering as she goes into quiet and stillness what it felt like to float in the warm waters of peace and Love, what it feels like not to be limited by a body, what it feels like to float in that unlimited space of Love. It is so freeing. Now Linda consistently chooses to listen to that Voice of Love, Who is gently carrying her to her true Home. And the other voice is losing its power over her.

Thank you Holy Spirit of Love, for never abandoning me and returning me to Heaven, to the Oneness of true Creation.
