Who Is My Teacher?

Hello Everyone,  I hope the following will be helpful in some way.
This morning I was feeling down, that I was back to base zero, that I was not “doing” what Spirit had intended for me…… you know, the old ego-smego.  I went to H.S.—- I have chosen wrongly. I now give this choice to You. Whenever I think I am lacking something—- that is from the ego system. When I think I lack friends (or massage therapist) I am trying to get from the illusion what I perceive I need. I deny everything I have for some little scrap of the body’s story.

Spirit: Dear One, as long as you believe that you are a body, you will experience effects of guilt. The body is just another image you have tried to rid the mind of. You have taught yourself that you are a body, repeatedly. Now it seems to you, that you need the reverse number of lessons to undo the curse. None of that is true. You can accept responsibility for what you think. By giving up thoughts that are not truly “yours” you will have release.
To hold foreign thoughts is to accept an un-natural, synthetic and ultimately sick life. Such a life is not real, just as a body is not real. Sick thoughts uphold the belief in bodies. Thoughts that seem “normal” to you are always associated with the body, either yours or another’s. These are the thoughts that need correction; they are only mistakes that hold no value. Would you learn that this is so? You cannot give correction to yourself—this is not your function. Correction comes only of Holy Spirit. You try to make adjustments to errors but this is not release, it does not heal.

(My partner joined me and opened the Course to Chap. 8:I.4.1-2 & II.2.9.;II.3.4) “Your past learning must have taught the wrong things, simply because it has not made you happy. On this basis alone its value should be questioned. “Your will is in your nature, and therefore cannot go against it. “It is never God Who coerses you, because He shares His Will with you.”
(Holy Spirit’s lesson is) “…...that your will and Gods cannot be out of accord because they are one. This is the undoing of everything the ego tries to teach. (8:II.3.6-7) “Holy Spirit’s direction is freedom and His goal is God.” (8:II.6.2)

I was also led to read in the Manual for Teachers, (26.4.1-3) “Do not despair, then, because of limitations. It is your function to escape from them, but not to be without them. If you would be heard by those who suffer, you must speak their language.”

Spirit: Of this you can be sure, the ego does not know what you are, though it’s goal is to teach you that. Holy Spirit does know what you are, and will make certain that you learn it. You are the Will of God, so you must share that Will as He shares It with you. There is nothing that your holiness cannot do, because your strength comes from God.

You are not a failure, though the ego would teach you this, for it wants you to give up listening to the one Teacher that can truly teach you. It delights in your despair that you are not following the Course “properly” nor succeeding in the WorkBook lessons. These are the limitations that it holds dear, but are not the reality of your mind, or your will. You had a thought that you must give up the belief that you are a body, but remember this also: “God takes you where you are and welcomes you.” (26.4.10) He has given you the means to let go of limitations, and you are always answered, given every support,  and have every need met. Even while you think that you are a body, you still are capable of choosing again for a happy day. You are capable of learning through Holy Spirit, of looking with Him, of hearing with Him, and letting His words flow from your mouth. You are not asked to do more, you are asked only to do the little part of letting Holy Spirit lead you.
Step back. Remember that you do not know. Breath deeply. Make room for peace in your mind. Allow your self to feel, or hear, or see, the Comforter with you.  Be you in Joy!

Pain Is Not My Function

My partner often likes to catch the TV weather in the morning. After turning off the set, he had made a comment about not knowing if I was attached to (watching) the TV this morning; to which I responded: I am mistakeningly attached to my body.  He then said something like “we could handle that”—and the thought popped into my mind: Being attached to a body is not a sin!  (Whew! thank you Spirit!)

The following are insights I received after we read Lesson 102: I share God’s Will for happiness for me. (the first 2 ¶s refer to (define) pain).

Pain is not a solution, it pays for nothing. Pain does not save me from God’s punishment or vengeance. Pain is perception that I can escape God’s wrath, by paying for my sin.

But there is no sin! Sin is only an impossible thought. What never happened can have no effects—- yet my belief in what never happened has made illusions appear real. Sin is not real—-and the pain that I use to pay my way out of it, is not real either.

Pain is no solution; pain does not buy me freedom, it does not “save” me. Pain is another defense against the truth. It denies that Love is real, it denies that I am spirit. Pain denies that I am safe and healed and whole; a holy Son of God, one with my Source, forever loved AND loving.

I now see another healing in the WB lessons revolving around “I am not a body.”
I am not a body = There is no sin!
I am free = having no cause, sin has no effect.
I am still as God created me = Nothing else is true. My sinlessness is guaranteed by Love.

Me: Dear Spirit, thank you again for your healing words. I share God’s Will for happiness because it is the only thing I can do—- everything else is a false dream based on what never happened. I can let this go. How glad I am that my Comforter is always with me, giving me correction for my mistaken beliefs.

God Still Is Love

Todays ACIM WB lesson (99) was powerful to me. I have included the sentences that stood out for me, followed by some insight from H.S.

“Salvation and forgiveness are the same.”   
“Salvation is my only function here. Salvation and forgiveness are the same.”
“The impossible becomes the thing you need forgiveness for, salvation from.”
Me: When I think impossible thoughts, I am trying to make the separation illusion real. This is not God’s Will.

“God’s still is Love and this is not His Will. H.S. has one answer to appearances; regardless of their form, their size, their depth or any attribute they seem to have:  Salvation is my only function here. God still is Love, and this is not His Will.”

“It is God’s Will your mind be one with His. It is God’s Will that He has but one Son. It is God’s Will that His one Son is you.”
“Then turn to Him Who shares your function here, and let Him teach you what you need to learn to lay all fear aside, and know your Self as Love which has no opposite in you.”
“Forgive all thoughts that would oppose the truth of your completion, unity and peace. You cannot lose the gifts your Father gave. You do not want another self. You have no function that is not of God.
Forgive yourself the one you think you made. Forgiveness and salvation are the same. Forgive what you have made and you are saved.”

Me: Forgiveness is my only function here. When I forgive another—-I am really forgiving myself for some illusion I made and held dear.
Let me not forget my function. Forgiveness is my only function here.
It is not my function to defend illusions; to make attack on Truth. It is not my function to make my errors real and then think I am deserving punishment for them. It is not my function to follow a teacher that opposes Love and contradicts the truth.
There is no other will than God’s. His Will and His Love are unchanging, unchangeable. I may imagine that I made a will of my own, but this is a foolish dream without meaning of any kind. I can be only grateful that there is no will that opposes His, for I would remember my true Self and know my mind as one with Love.
There is no will but God’s. Forgiveness is my only function here. I forgive the function I thought I made.
