Seeing Differently

Robert:
When I rest my body and sleep at night, the body relaxes. I have observed that when I let go of my mind chatter and go to the quiet place in my mind, I also relax.

I recognize that the mind chatter is mostly coming from my sense of being a separate identity and a need to protect and provide for that identity. But when I go to the quiet place in my mind, I remember that I have already been given all that I need and it remains part of me because I am still united with my Source. There is no conflict in this place of peace and so I relax.

There is great value in taking time each day to go to that quiet place and remember that I remain as Love created me. The truth in me is conflict free. It is safe to relax now. I am grateful that this place of peace is with me always. I am grateful for the gift of peace.

Mary:
This morning we read A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 28, “Above all else I want to see things differently.” I have been used to seeing things in terms of separation and individuality and differences. It is my true Self That will show me the Light of Love behind every false perception of differences as I am willing.

This is my practice today — to be willing to step back and be shown the truth of Love’s oneness. I need to step back again and again to be returned to the truth. Today I make the commitment to see things through the eyes of oneness.

Letting Go of Pretenses

Mary:
Recently it has come to me that the world is like a big masquerade ball with everyone in costumes. The costumes people are wearing are not what they are. The costumes are just a big pretense in an effort to have “fun.” When we take the costume ball too seriously, we forget that everyone is just wearing a costume. We forget the one Mind of Love Which we all are.

We are now coming to the time when there is a growing willingness to see past the costumes to the one Divine Light of Love we all are. This growing willingness is bringing us to a stage where we can smile at the costumes and not take them so seriously. We are beginning to recognize that they are just costumes and that the whole costume ball is just a pretense. The scary stories seem less frightening because we start to sense the Love behind the fear. A sense of gentleness and peace rises to the surface as the costumes are recognized as meaningless pretenses.

What a joy it is to join together in this time of moving past pretenses to the truth. The fact that we are all the same Light and that there is no distance between us becomes more evident. We remember that we rest in the pure Love of God and that the stories are just stories — not to be taken seriously. We now join joyfully with every brother in the process of awakening from the pretense of separation. This is our only purpose now.

Robert:
If I want to wake up from the dream of pretenses, I need to be mindful of who I think I am in each moment. If I am identifying with a pretense of a separate identity, there will always be a sense of vulnerability, fear and guilt. As I redirect my attention to the truth of What I am, the pretense fades and I recognize my perfect safety and perfect happiness in the oneness of my Source. This is what I really want.

So today I will focus on walking hand in hand with Holy Spirit to share His vision and remember to gently laugh at the pretenses as I let them go. As I remember this I will have a day of happy laughter.

Letting Holy Spirit Guide My Thoughts

Robert:
All I really want is the peace of God. It doesn’t seem like I have it, though in truth it is in me and all around me. The way to know the peace of God is to learn that “the world I see holds nothing that I want.” (See A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 128.) If I attempt to find peace through anything the world has to offer, I am seeking where peace cannot be found.

Today, once again, is a day for me to practice stepping back and letting Holy Spirit guide my thoughts, my vision and my actions. As He inspires me, all things I do serve my awakening and the awakening of the world. Anything I attempt to do on my own is simply a detour into a dead end that accomplishes nothing. I choose the Holy Spirit as my Guide today.

Mary:
It is the Holy Spirit That shows me the truth of Love beyond this world. It is the Holy Spirit That brings Christ’s vision into my mind. It is only through the Holy Spirit that I am able to rise above and see the Love. Today it is my opportunity to let myself be carried by the inspiration that comes from the Holy Spirit, our one true Self.

Resting in the Truth

Mary:
In our reading in A Course in Miracles this morning, this is what stood out to me:
“Open your mind and rest. The world that seems to hold you prisoner can be escaped by anyone who does not hold it dear. Withdraw all value you have placed upon its meager offerings and senseless gifts, and let the gift of God replace them all.” (ACIM, W-pI.127.8:2-4)

Today is a day dedicated to opening my mind to let God’s gifts replace all of the world’s meager offerings. Today is a day dedicated to letting my mind open to the Light of everyone’s beingness as Love. The Love we all are is our only truth. Today is a day dedicated to resting in the truth and receiving God’s Love.

Robert:
How do we escape the world of guilt and fear? The answer is summed up in one world — forgive. If I hold anything in the world of form dear, I am valuing a barrier to the awareness of Love’s presence, and so I do not know my Self.

What is the benefit of forgiveness? A future unlike the past because forgiveness lets the past go. It lets go of the barrier’s to Love so that the Love that is ever-present extends eternally, without limit.

How do we forgive? A Course in Miracles is very clear that we need help on this one. We need help from beyond the thought system of separate identities and separate forms. This Help is ever present in our minds. It is called many names — the Holy Spirit, the Self, Guide, Teacher, Friend — to name a few.

To forgive I must resign as judge and let this inner Teacher judge on my behalf. This Teacher is not deceived by appearances. It remembers that only Love is real. As I allow myself to receive my inner Teacher’s vision, I will let go of the mistaken judgments that are nothing more than an attempt to make separation seem real and thus deny God’s Love.

Today is another day to practice stepping back with an open mind to let the Holy Spirit be my interpreter. It is this practice that will set me free from the world of guilt and fear.

A Lesson in Love

Robert:
A Course in Miracles tells us not to mistake the body for the Son of God. To me this means that neither my body nor the appearance of other bodies has anything to do with What the Son of God is. ACIM also tells us that the body is the ego’s chosen home. It is the basis for all judgment and guilt. Since God is Love and nothing else and His Son is the extension of Love which is eternally innocent, judgment and the perception of guilt must be in the domain of the body and the ego.

The task of the Holy Spirit in my mind is to teach me to recognize that no form has any meaning and therefore has no value. Value lies only in the changeless Love that is the one Self I share with all. It is in identifying with this Self, which cannot be seen with the body’s eyes, that I experience the quiet joy that is my natural state. This state is accepted as I let go of judgment, let go of identifying with the body as what I am.

So today my practice is to let go of judgment by choosing to let the Holy Spirit judge on my behalf and show me the reality of Love that is everywhere. The more I accept this lesson, the happier I will be.

Mary:
Today I have the opportunity to remember that I rest in God eternally… I have the opportunity to remember that everyone rests in God eternally… I have the opportunity to remember that this is the truth and not the continuous flow of stories the ego mind generates… I have the opportunity to remember that all is well and nothing change the pure Love that the Son of God is… The whole Sonship (which includes everyone in this world) is wholly innocent, wholly pure and wholly blessed — right now and forever… What a wonderful opportunity I have today!

Let Love Lead the Way

Robert:
There is a path of Light that goes before all of us. It cannot be seen by the body’s eyes. It is seen through forgiving eyes that have let go of the barriers to Love, for this path of Light is the path of Love. Love excludes no one, for it extends equally and eternally to all. In the changelessness of Love is perfect peace. The joy of being in the eternal extension of Love is beyond any experience in the world. This is our natural state.

Today I ask with an open heart to be shown how to look past my judgments so that I can let them go and see the path of Light that leads me Home.

Mary:
When I want to see through the eyes of Love, I will see Love. My practice today is to let go and let Love lead the way. This is what brings me happiness and peace.

Hear Heaven’s Song

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Step back and let yourself hear Heaven’s song right now… Practice letting yourself hear Heaven’s song all through the day today… It is worth the vigilance. Your one true Self is there… Let yourself receive the blessing of the truth about you and every brother… Let yourself receive the truth that only Love is real… Let yourself receive the truth that Go is… Love is… There is nothing else.

Here there is no conflict… Here there is only peace… This is Heaven’s song… Let Heaven’s song carry you through your day today… Let yourself remember that you rest in God all through the day…

Holy Spirit to Robert:
Here is a way to plan your day: Think of your day as a pathway extending out before you… See that pathway lighted by Love… You may see people entering this pathway lit by Love, then leaving it as they go about their way… But your path remains unchanged, shining in the radiance of Love… Events seem to occur, but the radiance of your pathway remains constant… This is your path laid out for you by your Self… Hold your attention on this and let Me take care of the details… Hold to the Light of Love today.
