Nothing Has Changed

by Revs. Robert and Mary Stoelting

Revs. Robert & Mary StoeltingThe night before writing this article we asked the Holy Spirit to bring us inspiration. The following is what transpired:

Mary — While I was showering, the idea kept coming to me: Nothing has changed. Then a picture came to me. When I was a child, I had a picture of Jesus across from my bed. When I woke up in the morning, there he would be, reassuring me that no matter what seemed to be happening in my life, he was there. His picture reminded me that everything was going to be all right. This picture was the face of kindness, the face of gentleness.

Moving Toward My Real Home

by Rev. Christine Anderson, O.M.C.

Rev. Christine AndersonIn 2003, at the age of 89, my mom decided to sell her house and enter a community of people her own age. I think that this took a lot of courage on her part. She no longer wanted the responsibility that comes with the upkeep of a house. My brothers and I worked together to find a place to her liking and helped her make the move to the senior residence.

Are You Ready?

by Rev. Marie Hanson, O.M.C.

Rev. Marie Hanson“I’m ready! Promotion! I’m ready! Promotion!” was the repetitive phrase my sweetheart’s niece, Alexa, proclaimed as she marched intentionally around our living room. It was Alexa’s eighth birthday. I wasn’t sure where the chant came from. It was not familiar to me. One thing was clear: It wouldn’t be the last time I heard it.

Holy Spirit, I’m Listening

by Colleen McNally

Colleen McNallyThere is no Will but God’s. I am realizing that I have been giving more attention to my own will than to the Will of God. My ego takes over and I am in wrong-minded thinking. From here, my entire day can become a complete shambles and full of one illusion after another. It is like anxiety and fear become the ground of my being. It is here that I needed a change in my perception. This is the shift to right-minded thinking. In right-minded thinking, the ground of my being becomes the Love of God. “You focus your thoughts on remembering that the Holy Spirit is right there in your mind, waiting to help you remember your true Identity in the oneness of God’s Love. You let the Holy Spirit remind you that only God’s world of Love is real. You let the veil of the false world be lifted and you are willing to rest in the truth awhile.” (Course 921: Miracles Practitioner, Part I, pg. 47)

Abundance Is Awareness of God’s Eternal Love

by Rev. Linda Wisniewski, O.M.C.

Rev. Linda WisniewskiSince my husband lost his job and is starting his own business, money is tight. For me, money was never about acquiring material goods. I was also learning that what we needed to support our needs would be provided for if we put our trust in Holy Spirit’s guidance.

I Am Already Whole

by Rev. Gail Hamley, O.M.C.

Rev. Gail HamleyAfter my ordination in May, 2004, I was so excited, enthused and motivated to begin my new life as Reverend Gail, Pathways Minister. My journey had been a long one, with many hills and curves, but the decision to be ordained seemed like I had finally come to the road heading home. I had all kinds of thoughts, plans for classes filling my head. I even found locations to teach and interest was stimulated easily. As time went on, I became paralyzed with fear. I couldn’t do anything! Each time I prepared a schedule for a class, I would feel overwhelmed. I didn’t realize that Spirit was keeping gentle pace. I had a few students I was facilitating and a few Inner Wisdom Counseling appointments.

Accepting Christ’s Vision

by Revs. Robert and Mary Stoelting

Revs. Robert & Mary StoeltingOne of the lessons we are currently working on is accepting the fact that if we think we have a problem, no matter what it looks like, we are forgetting to accept Christ’s vision. It does not matter whether the problem seems to be coming from someone else or whether it appears to be beyond our ‘control.’ We are learning that in every circumstance the reason we think there is a ‘problem’ is because we are looking at the situation through the filters of the ego’s thought system.

There’s No Place Like Home — Choosing the Altar Now

by Revs. Deb & Paul Phelps, O.M.C.

Revs. Deb & Paul PhelpsIn preparing for this article we invited the Holy Spirit to select the topic for us to share. We did this by first joining in holy purpose, quieting our minds and randomly opening up the Course. We know from experience that, when we practice this, Holy Spirit always selects the ‘perfect’ topic for us for that moment in our lives. This time, Holy Spirit gave us Text, Chapter 20, Section II: The Gift of Lilies.

Giving Thanks for Miracles

by Rev. Barbara Kraetsch, O.M.C.

Rev. Barbara KraetschWhen I let go of the past, I can come to forgiveness now. How often the past wants to assert itself. Here comes the memory of our failure to be open and giving. Here comes the memory of our quiet resentment or anxiety. Here comes the memory of our judgment against our brother, maybe it was unspoken verbally, but it was there in our attitude and actions. We distanced ourselves from others.

From Fear to Faith and Love

by Rev. Linda Wisniewski, O.M.C.

Rev. Linda WisniewskiDuring the month of October and into the first weeks of November, I noticed I have been gripped by more fear than usual. It’s not surprising when I realized I had been watching more TV than usual and listening more to National Public Radio, ego’s boom boxes for gloom and doom. News about the flu vaccine shortage, the war in Iraq, cancer scares, ads for new drugs that would first promise cures and then kill you from the side effects, and electioneering all flooded my mind.

Freedom

by Rev. Erin Whitney Lawson

True freedom is the “Freedom of eternal Truth” and as we all know, God is the Author of Truth. God created us in His image and likeness. He created us in His Reality with His Divine attributes. We, as His children in Truth, are blessed with His attributes, one of which is unlimited freedom. To know and experience our freedom in Truth, we must first realize and accept the Truth of God as our existence now. Once we have accepted the undeniable Truth, we then devote ourselves to living in a way that honors Its expression in all that we think, say and do. This is the way of Christ.

The Bottom Line

by Rev. Mary Manke, O.M.C.

Rev. Mary MankeThese thoughts came to me after reviewing the daily lesson of “I seek a future different from the past.”

The bottom line is that in my insanity I’m trying to make separation real. This endeavor puts my mind in conflict, trying to use two opposing belief systems. There is only one Will, and my true will is in accord with the Will of Love. In my insanity I think that my will can be different then God’s Will. I mistake my insane thoughts for truth. I think that separation happened, so I am condemned by a vengeful god. The insane mind scrambles to try and keep itself intact. It tries to direct every thought, belief, and action; it grasps tightly to its dream images.
